Hello! It's Bethany, @your_crafty_BFF returning with a project for the month of December!
If you saw my project from last month, then you saw that I built clear scrap's beautiful house MDC holder and decorated it in a winter/Christmas theme! Well this month, I used the chipboard Regular Tab Index Memory Dex Cards and decorated them all with snowflakes in mind! I wanted to create these MDC's into divider tabs for my collection on MDC's that I have received from other crafters. So after decorating them, I labeled the first "A-J", the second "K-S" and the third "T-Z" just to keep my MDC's in alphabetical order- hoping this would make it easier to find them easier!
To keep the winter theme going, like I said, I chose to incorporate snowflakes into each of the MDC Cards and I think they turned out great!
I started out by painting them with an acrylic paint by Folk Art in "Titanium White", to match the house holder from last month. The chipboard definitely soaks in the paint, so I recommend 2 coats!
After they dried, I picked a focal point for the first MDC- which happens to be this red gift bow that I die cut and assembled! I then added a gold glitter gem to the center of the bow to embellish it! I used a white plastic snowflake Christmas tree ornament that I picked up from dollar tree as a background layering piece & then I found this chipboard sticker of a Santa riding a scooter and added it for some extra decoration. I finished the first one off with this "Merry Merry Merry" Sentiment !
For my second MDC Divider, I used a snowflake shaker embellishment that was gifted to be in happy mail as the focal point! I used this beautiful gold glitter mesh in the background for layering purposes, found an ephemera piece of this girl making snow angels and then I sewed a paper ruffle to add some dimension and layered the sentiment " Season's Greeting's" on top to finish it!
For my third and final MDC Divider, I made this gorgeous Poinsettia flower, as my focal point, by die cutting and assembling it. To embellish the center, I used these small gold glitter foam balls that I picked up from Hobby Lobby in the Christmas section. I used another white plastic snowflake ornament from dollar tree as well as some more of that gold glitter mesh for layering and then found a couple of ephemera pieces (the house and the snow owl!) to make a little winter scene. I finished this last one off with a circle chipboard sticker that says "Merry Christmas"!
