It's Jennifer here on the blog today, bringing you a delightful 8x8 Christmas album in the most enchanting shades of pink, cream, and green. I'm absolutely smitten with this paper and have used it on several projects (with more to come later). The nontraditional Christmas colors in this album are simply captivating! I've also sprinkled in several of the new holiday chipboard elements throughout the album, adding that extra bit of magic. Keep an eye out for those special touches that bring it all to life!
To start, I carefully selected the perfect papers for the base pages of each chipboard piece. I traced, cut, and trimmed the edges with an X-Acto knife to ensure clean lines. Then, I added a touch of warmth by inking the edges with brown StazOn ink. After gluing the base pages, I gathered the chipboard elements and began decorating them. For the present, I used pink and silver Stickles to add some sparkle. The skate was adorned with silver, light pink, and white Stickles for a festive touch. For the sweater and stocking, I selected coordinating papers to cover them. Additionally, I added grit paste and rock candy glitter to the top portion of the stocking, giving it a frosty, wintery look.
Setting those aside to dry, I turned my attention to the cover of the album. For the cover, I cut an 8x3 piece from the green star paper and tore one side for a textured look. After inking the edges, I glued it to the right side of the front cover. Next, I selected several die-cut pieces from the collection, inked and layered them artfully on the cover. I added some lovely flowers for a touch of charm. To complete the design, I attached a ribbon to the bottom portion and added the present chipboard element.
For the inside cover and first page, I decided to add photo mats and embellish them with ribbon, flowers, and various die-cut elements. I carefully inked the edges of each mat and die-cut piece to give them a polished, cohesive look.
For the third page, I cut out one of the postcard pieces from the collection and created a pocket by gluing only the bottom and sides. I then cut several picture cards, inked them, and tucked them neatly inside the pocket. Before gluing the pocket in place, I added a ribbon to the left side for an extra touch of charm. To finish, I selected a few die-cut pieces and added the skate chipboard element for a playful accent. For the fourth page, I decided to add extra photo mats to capture those sweet holiday moments. I embellished the page with a charming flower and several die-cut pieces, all of which I carefully inked around the edges for a polished finish.
For page 5, I cut an 8x3 piece of dot paper, tore it along the edge, and inked it before gluing it to the top, bottom, and right side to create a side pocket. I tucked a few picture cards inside the pocket for journaling or photos. To complete the page, I added die-cut pieces, which I inked before gluing them down, along with the stocking chipboard element and a flower for a festive touch. For page 6, I cut three pieces of paper to 8x3 and used an X-Acto knife to cut a curved line across the 8-inch mark, creating a “wave” effect. After inking the edges, I layered and glued the pieces along the bottom and sides to form three pockets. I then selected a variety of tags, picture journaling cards, and die-cut elements to tuck into the pockets. To finish the page, I added a ribbon, a metal frame, and a Santa chipboard element for a festive touch.
For page 7, I cut a diagonal piece of paper and tore it along the diagonal edge, then inked it for added texture. I glued the side and bottom to create a pocket. Next, I cut several photo cards, inked the edges, and tucked them into the pocket. To finish, I added some die cuts and the sweater chipboard element to the bottom left corner of the pocket. For the final page, I added a photo mat and embellished it with a Santa and a banner die cut. I bound the album together with book rings, then gathered some dyed seam binding, ribbon, and lace to cover each ring. To complete the look, I added a globe filled with pink star "glitter" for a final, sparkling touch.
I hope you’re feeling inspired to create your own album! These chipboard embellishments are incredibly versatile and add a festive touch to any project you use them in. Happy crafting! ~ jennifer
