Hello Craft Friends!
I'm Dana and I'm back to share a Home Decor project I hope you'll love. I think these Clear Scraps Printer tray are so much fun and they come in several different styles. Today i chose the Clear Scraps Scallop Square Printer Tray Click here
I'll also be using Clear Scraps Hearts Chipboard Divider Cards-3 pack Click here For this project I'll only be using one of the 3 cards. You can save the others for a future project.
The paper collection I chose is from Graphic45 "Couture " I love anything vintage and especially the fashion of the 1920's. Couture means design of fashionable clothes. So it matches the theme of my tray.
To begin this project I removed all my chipboard Printer Tray pieces from the package. Take the top Printer Tray frame and set the other frame pieces aside for now. Taking a paintbrush I apply some Black acrylic paint along the outside Scallop edge and sides. Let dry.
Once your tray has dried, I took some gold glitter washi tape and applied it to ll the inside sections on my tray. I did apply some craft glue to make sure my washi tape stays secure. See photo:
Here's how mine looks after applying my washi tape to all the sections of my tray.
Next from my paper pad I chose a variety of patterned papers I wanted to use to decorate each section of my Printer tray. I measured and cut to fit. The two larger sections measure 5 & 1//4 x 5 & 1/4 inches. Here's some of papers I'll be using. I also did cut down some 4x6 inch journal cards to add to some of the sections on my tray.
After you have all your papers cut, you can glue to the backside of your top tray piece. Here's a photo of my tray after I glued all my papers in place.
Now we can glue all our chipboard tray pieces in place. I recommend using Beacon glue when using Chipboard. It has a strong permanent bond. Perfect for chipboard! Glue your first two bottom chipboard Printer Tray pieces onto your bottom base. I chose not to use the acrylic tray piece. But you may if you desire. I'm adding other embellishments so they may be too bulky. If you decide to use the acrylic sheet, remove the protective film from both sides before gluing in place. Now you can glue your top piece in place.
Now we can start decorating each section of our Printer Tray! This is my favorite part.
Top Left section: I fussycut out a matching image of the flapper gal. When cutting the peacock feathers I cut small slits up halfway. I slightly curled and bent them to create some movement and make them more realistic. See photo:
Then using foam dots I adhered my image over the top matching image on my journal card. I applied some Stickles glitter True Blue on the peacock feathers and feathers on her head. I trimmed down a tiny rose and slipped behind her hand and glued in place. I cut a part of a border strip sentiment "Ooh la la" and glued along the bottom edge.
Top center section: I fussycut out acouple stamps. See photo:
I glued both stamps in the bottom corner, one with foam dots to add dimension. I glued Diamond gem on top. I also cut out a cluster of Roses and leaves and using foam dots I adhered below the sentiment "Simply Stunning" see photo:
Top Right Section: I glued a black feathers and Red Rose on the top corner. I added acouple red heart stickers on the Rose petals. I fussycut out a fashion lady and glued her on the right edge of my tray.
The skinny section below I glued a sticker sentiment on the bottom edge. Here's a photo:
Bottom Left Section: From your Clear Scraps Hearts Chipboard Divider Cards package, remove the Divider card with the 3 Hearts at the top. Here's a photo:
You can set your other cards aside for a future project. Taking another journal card, I cut it to fit along the bottom section of my Divider card. Glue in place. You can trim away any excess paper. Then taking a floral scrap paper, I glued my paper onto the 3 hearts on my Divider card. Trim away any excess paper using an x-acto knife. I applied a sticker sentiment along the top edge of my Divider card. I glued 3 small buttons onto each heart. Then using a white ink pen, I drew some stitched lines where my button holes are to resemble thread. On the bottom left edge of my Divider card I glued 3 chipboard stickers and another chipboard tag next to that. I glued a black rose gem over the hole on my tag. I cut out a small Couture ticket and glued at the top right corner. I fussycut out another fashion lady and glued on the left edge. Here's a closeup look:
On the lower right edge I fussycut and trimmed out a lady image and with foam dots I adhered her at the bottom edge. I left everything else as is. Here's a photo:
To finish my project, I applied some Stickles Diamond glitter to some of the women's dresses, feathers and Roses. Now you can add a metal hanger as I did, or ribbon or cord on the back of your Printer tray, and it's ready to hang and enjoy!
Here's another finished photo of my Printer tray:
I hope you enjoyed my project idea. I think these teams would be a great gift idea!
