Hi Craft Friends!
Dana here! Today I'm excited to share some of Clear Scraps newest Releases. I'll be creating one of the Small Wood Shadow Boxes with acouple new Chipboard Embellishments! These are so fun to create and possibilities are endless! You can match any decor theme, season or holidays. Check them all out here Click here
The paper collection I'll be using is from Simple Stories " Winter Wonder"
To start remove all your wood pieces from your package. I like to lay them out on my work surface so I know how to assemble them later. See photo:
Next I'll be choosing a variety of patterned papers to cover the backside, all side pieces and 2 inserts. I'll list the measurements below:
4 total long sides measure 5 & 3/4 x 1 & 1/2 inches
Backside measure 6 & 1/8 x 6 & 1/8 inches
Center piece: 5 & 3/4 x 1 & 1/2 inches
Cut and glue all papers in place. Using an x-acto knife I trimmed away any excess paper and trimmed out around the slots and tabs.
Glue all pieces in place. I recommend using a strong permanent glue such as Beacon glue. You don't want your pieces to fall apart. I applied some Blue Star washi tape along the front edges on the front of my box. I also took some silver tinsel and hot glued in place around the outside edges. Trim off any excess tinsel trim. Set aside overnight to dry. See photo:
I also applied another sentiment washi tape all along the bottom outside of my wood box. See photo:
While your box dries, we can start decorating our Chipboard Embellishment pieces. For this project I'm using only the Let it Snow sentiment and Mittens. You get a total of 8 different chipboard pieces in this set. So you can save for cards, Tags and other projects.
Taking my Let it Snow Chipboard Embellishment I applied some Stickles glitter "Twilight " over the letters. Let dry. Here's a photo:
Mittens Chipboard Embellishment: I covered both mittens with striped patterned paper. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife as we did previously. I applied one heart sticker on to the front of each mitten. Taking some fake snow paste I applied over the top of each mitten to resemble fake fur. I attached a piece of jute cord on the back of both mittens. See photo:
Now we can start decorating the inside sections of our wood shadow box! This is my favorite part!
Box 1 upper left corner: I glued my chipboard Let it Snow Embellishment onto a small journal card which I trimmed to fit inside this section of my wood box. Glue your journal card in place. I added a chipboard sticker tree over top of one of the trees on my journal card. I added acouple chipboard Snowflake stickers and some fake snow at the bottom.
Bottom left corner: I applied this cute Polar Bear chipboard sticker and with foam dots adhered the green small tree. I added a small cozy up brad at the top! Here's a closeup look:
Top right corner: with foam dots I adhered the chipboard mittens Embellishment. I added the hat chipboard sticker above and a Brrr brad.
Right Bottom corner: Here I adhered this adorable snowman, glued a tiny pink tree on the side of my snowman. Then applied a few enamel dots in the center of my Snowflakes in the background. Here's a photo:
To finish my project, I glued acouple ephemera sentiment pieces in the center and added acouple pink Starburst gems!
