Hello Craft Friends
Dana here! Hope you are enjoying your Summer so far. I know that fall is still a ways away. But I wanted to create and share these new Clear Scraps Acrylic Memory-Dex Divider Cards! Working with Acrylic can be intimidating but I assure you they are easy and fun to play around with different background effects. You can see all the newest products available Click here
Here are the Memory-Dex cards ill be creating today.
I'm using a variety of different embellishments from my craft stash. This is a great way to use up all those leftover scraps we all like to save. Lol
To create my backgrounds I'm using Adirondacks Alcohol Inks in dark and light green, Orange and dark Red. I'll also be using some Adirondacks Blending Solution. This will help dilute and blend your alcohol Inks to create unique effects. Alittle goes a long way. You only need a drop or two.
To begin remove your acrylic shapes from the package. I prepare my work surface and I like to work on a scrap piece of cardboard so I dont get the alcohol onto my craft glass mat. I also recommend wearing latex gloves. You dont want to get ink onto your fingers, it can get messy. I chose an orange and dark green alcohol Inks. Peel off the protective film from both sides of your acrylic. I only remove my protective film from one piece at a time. You don't want to scratch your acrylic or get any alcohol ink on your other 2 Memory-Dex cards.
I applied dark green alcohol ink to the stem of my pumpkin. I let some of the ink drip down. This creates a neat effect. Next I'll add a few drops of the orange alcohol ink onto my pumpkin shape. Add a drop or two of the blending solution and let it drip and Swirl around. See photos:
Set aside to dry. Now you can repeat this process for the other 2 acrylic pieces. You only need to apply the alcohol ink on one side and it will show through on the other side. Here's how my Memory-Dex cards look so far:
Now we can start decorating our Acrylic Memory-Dex cards!
Large Pumpkin: I twisted a green stem and leaf around the stem of my pumpkin. I glued a Prima flower and some leaves on one side. Here's a photo:
Backside of Pumpkin: I added an ephemera sentiment piece "Give Thanks" and applied some rub-on leaves scattered in places. Here a closeup look:
Truck Card: on one side I add a wood strip of paper across the back of my truck. I applied two Prima marketing crystals onto each side mirror. I fussycut some small pumpkins and glued above my wood strip, adding foam dots on the two orange pumpkins before adhering. This adds some dimension. I glued a tiny Prima flower at the top! Here's a photo:
Backside of truck: I applied some Rub-on leaves and "Autumn " sentiment across the bottom edge. I fussycut some green pumpkins and glued above. Then glued another tiny Prima flower at the top! Here's a closeup!
Two Pumpkins Card: I applied acouple rub-on leaves and fussycut BBe"Thankful heart sentiment on the right side. See photo:
Backside: I fussycut a Autumn Love heart and glued on the left side The rub-on leaves show through from the other side. Here's a photo:
