Hi Craft Friends!
Dana here! Happy Spring! Today I'm here to share an easy Home Decor project. For our base, I chose Clear Scraps Birdhouse Shiplap Shape Small. Click here and Clear Scraps Monarch Butterfly Chipboard Embellishment Click here
The papers I'll be using are from Rosie's Studio "One of a Kind" paper collection as well as some ephemera pieces, sentiment and enamel dots.
To start this project, rremoveyour Shiplap Birdhouse from your package. Taking some Prima Pastel Brown Chalk Ink, I applied on the roof of my Birdhouse and bottom section. Let dry.
Next taking some Folkart Baby Pink Acrylic paint I applied this to the top section on my Birdhouse. In the middle section I applied Tim Holtz Distress Paint Picket Fence. On the next section I applied some Pigment Ink Periwinkle. Set aside your Birdhouse to dry.
Now take your Butterfly chipboard embellishment and cut the solid chipboard butterfly apart from your chipboard frame. Save the other butterfly chipboard for a future project.
Taking a patterned paper I traced around my chipboard butterfly and using Beacon glue, I adhered my patterned paper onto my butterfly chipboard piece. Using my x-acto knife, I trimmed away any excess paper. Then using my Distress tool, I smoothed any rough edges from my chipboard butterfly. On the head and body of my butterfly, I colored using a black fine tip marker. I added a few enamel dots onto each of the upper wings of my butterfly. Taking some foam tape I adhered my butterfly chipboard over the top right corner on my Shiplap Birdhouse. Here's acouple photos:
On the bottom edge on my Shiplap Birdhouse, i adhered a ephemera sentiment "Oh Happy Day "
Using foam dots i adhered a small ephemera bird, cute little fox image on the left side. Then added acouple puffy sticker Butterflies. Taking another enamel dot, i adhered over the hole on my Birdhouse. Heres a closeup look:
Now you can add a magnet onto the backside using Beacon glue and display on your refrigerator or magnet board. Let dry throughly before using. If you like you could also display this on a easel stand. Here's my finished project:
