Spring is right around the corner and so is Easter. I used the bunny shaker, egg shaker and hoppy/bunny wood shape and word to create some Easter decor.
Shakers
For both shakers I traced, cut and glued the paper I wanted to use to the base. You can also paint if you choose not to use paper. (Egg shaker shown for reference).
Next, I painted the top layer of the shaker. For the egg I used a metallic green and for the bunny I used an orange and then added orange stickles to the bunny shaker. (Egg shaker shown for reference)
While the top layer was drying, I glued together the other pieces of the shaker to the base to build up the shaker. I added some fun elements inside the shaker. Next I removed the film from the acrylic pieces and glued it down. I added the painted piece to the top of the acrylic and added flowers to embellish.
Home decor piece
I had a wood block with wood base laying around, so I grabbed one of those and painted it white. After the paint dried, I grabbed my brown Stazon ink and inked the edges.
I loved that metallic green paint so much, I decided to use it on the word “hoppy”. While that was drying, I grabbed some paper and cut a 4x5 and 2x3 piece from some scraps I had. I inked the edges and layered them onto the wood block. I added some ink to the base of the wood block.
For the bunny, I traced, cut and glued from some scraps. I inked the edges and grabbed some twine and wrapped it around the bunny’s neck and added a flowers. Next I glued the bunny to the wood block, added the word to the bottom and finished it with flowers.
These turned out so cute and springy. Another super easy and quick project using scraps of paper. Save those scraps, you never know when you will need them! I have a box full of them.
Thanks for stopping by! Happy spring and Easter
