April showers do bring May flowers, but here in the Southwest it was the March rains that brought about some beautiful wildflowers this month! Hello everyone, and welcome to the Clear Scraps blog. I'm Maureen, and I have a beautiful project idea for you using the Clear Scraps Wide Scallop Album and a gorgeous line of paper products by Tres Jolie. This color scheme from their papers pays tribute to the gorgeous wildflowers in bloom here where I live!
I'm starting with the scallop album pages, tracing each one on an alternating page of delicate colors and bold florals. My goal was to keep the viewer guessing as they went through the album, but seeing a sneak peek with each page that peeked out at the end of the album page. With one of the pages I even played a bit with a fussy cut border edge.
My first page is the cover, and I wanted a 3-D look to this, so I incorporated some fussy cut wreaths from the Tres Jolie collection, along with the Hearts Chipboard Embellishments piece that I've used as a frame. Before cutting out the flower, I wrapped the heart with some colorful twine, giving the frame element some softness.
In my next couple pages, I wanted to give some space for both photos and journaling. Here are some ideas for photos and a little bit of writing.
This page highlights some of the Tres Jolie sticker gems and flowers, like these from the 40 and Market pack - it's called Wishing Bubbles and Baubles.
I really love the hand cutting of some of the flowers on this page! It adds interest to the overall album and highlights the beautiful prints.
This album would be perfect as a gift for Mother's Day! I can imagine putting photos of kids over the years, or even giving it empty to a new mom, like mine is! What types of albums would you create for yourself?
Thanks so much for joining me today! Until next time,
Maureen
