Clear Scraps--Mini Shaker--Pawsome Dog LO

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today to share a little puppy love with this LO!!

Clear_Scraps_Mini Shaker_Pawsome Dog LO(1)

Why not make a Valentine's LO of your pup?  They definitely know how to steal our hearts so they deserve a little love in return!  This LO was created with some fun doggie themed papers and stickers--but the addition of the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Heart/Paw really takes the adorable up a notch!!

The shaker was painted with green and brown acrylic paint to match the papers used.   I love the ability to create something that matches your LO exactly and the Mini Shakers are perfect for that!  It's such a great feature of the Mini Shakers!  Love the fact they add a little movement and sparkle too!  The filler used here was a mixture of the Sprinkles Heart Confetti (I picked out the red hearts and mixed them in) and the Fall Sequins.  Both can be found in the Clear Scraps store HERE.  There are some other fun pet themed Mini Shakers as well--make sure to look at all the options in the store HERE.

Another fun touch on this LO is the use of stenciling.  It's a nice and easy way to add a layer to your scrapbooking.

The Clear Scraps 6" Polka Dot Stencil is a fun one to use on almost any LO.  Just a little acrylic paint, a foam brush, and you can add this fun element to your page!  A few plastic dot embellishments were added in between the stenciled circles for more interest and contrast.  A little twine and some heart shaped enamels finish this LO off perfectly!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you enjoyed the Valentine inspiration being shared with you!  Stop back soon for more inspiration and ideas!!

Valentine Cards with Clear Scraps Shakers

Hello friends! It's Jennifer here today on the blog to share some easy Valentine's Day Acrylic cards I created using two of the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Shapes!  The techniques  I used  are  simple

to follow along and I'm going to include them for each card!

For card #1, I cut a 4 1/2 x 5 piece of acrylic from the 12x12 Acrylic Clear Craft Sheet.  Then using my applicator, I  applied a fun bright pearlized pink alcohol ink to the surface.  I set aside to allow my ink to dry while working on my shaker, the Envelope Mini Shaker Shape

First, I  painted the top chipboard frame along with the edges of the middle two frames with light pink chalk paint.  Chalk paint is not necessary...I  just liked the color and it dries quickly!

Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I  adhered patterned paper to the chipboard base of the shaker.  I  cut away excess paper with my scissors followed by using my x-acto knife and sanding tool.

I adhered my two middle chipboard frames and then added my chunky glitter. I chose bright colors that matched my patterned paper.  Next I  adhered my acrylic overlay.

Before adhering my top chipboard frame, I applied a light coat of crackle paste to the paint to give it some dimension.  I  helped drying time by using my heat tool.   Last, I  was ready to adhere my top chipboard frame.  My entire shaker was affixed to my card using the Beacon Adhesive.

For Card #2, I used the Lava Lamp Mini Shaker Shape as the main star of my project.  I  assembled my shaker in the usual manner but did add die cut shapes to the center using pop dots before adhering my acrylic overlay.

For my acrylic background I used three different bright colors of alcohol ink and blended them together.

Once my alcohol ink was dry, I  flipped over my acrylic and created a background using small stamps and black StazOn ink.

For card #1, which is the large heart, I colored the top and bottom with alcohol ink in Fiesta. A nice bright pink color for Valentines Day!

Once my alcohol ink was dry, I  flipped over my Divider and created a background with my stamp and StazOn Ink in black.
