Hello Craft Friends!
Hope you all are having a great start to the New Year! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog today, sharing my winter layout. I love to capture those favorite winter moments of playing in the snow, and creating memories that will last a lifetime. That's what I love most about scrapbooking. You can go back and relive those special times with family and friends.
For our layout project we'll be using Clear Scraps 12x12 Acrylic Sheet as your base. Click here If you haven't tried using these acrylic sheets, I encourage you to try them out. In addition to we'll be using one of the new Tag Mitten chipboard embellishments Click here to decorate our layout. These are so much fun to decorate and they add a special touch to your layout!
The paper collection I'll be using is Simple Stories "Feelin Frosty" I think it's super cute and just perfect for those winter photos! I'll be inking my papers and embellishments using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs from Tim Holtz.
To begin take one of the 12x12 patterned papers and cut down to 11 & 3/8 inches. Make sure to peel off the protective film from both sides of your acrylic sheet, before adhering your paper to the acrylic. I use a clear tape runner to adhere my paper to my acrylic sheet. Set aside for now.
Take your tag/mitten chipboard embellishment and cut away from the outside frame.
I like to save my leftover frame piece and use for future projects. Take your chipboard tag base. Trace around it onto another coordinating paper. Mark the hole at the top. Cut out and glue your paper to your tag surface. Taking an x-acto knife, trim away any excess paper.
Punch the hole at the top of your tag, using a paper punch. You can use a Distress tool to smooth away any rough edges on your tag.
Taking my Mittens embellishments, I covered it with pink Chalk Ink, then covered the top with Martha Stewart Sugarcube glitter. Shake off any excess glitter. I inked the top fur on the Mittens with white ink and sprinkled some Martha Stewart white confetti glitter over top. Let dry.
After your tag is throughly dry, glue your Mittens embellishment along the bottom part of your tag, making sure your edges line up. I recommend using Beacon glue for adhering your chipboard pieces. It's not only strong but acid free too. So it won't damage your photos! I added a Snowflake brad over my top hole on my tag. And a puffy sticker Brrr sentiment! Here's a closeup look!
Taking some pink cardstock, I matted 3 photos and arranged where I wanted before adhering to my page. I like to use a variety of different embellishments and sentiments on my layout. I make sure of their placement, before gluing to my layout.
The ephemera Snowflake images, I applied some foam dots to the back before adhering to my page. I also added foam dots to the scarf ephemera piece. Take your tag Mittens embellishment and glue to the right side of my layout. Here's a closeup!
Along the bottom edge of my page, I applied some enamel dots! The snowman chipboard sticker I adhered onto my photo and applied a pink enamel dot on top of his hat! Here's a closeup!
Here's how my layout turned out!
One more closeup for you!
I hope you enjoyed my project today and you'll want to start creating your own memories to enjoy and share for years to come.
