Gnome Themed Acrylic Mixed Tab Album
January 18, 2023
I often forget to document things about me in memory albums. Most of my albums center around my kids, family, vacations or holidays. But what about your friendships, your interests or goals? Hi, it's Maureen with you today...do you document about yourself in albums or scrapbooks?
I decided to give it a try as part of my New Year goals I set for myself. I found this adorable set of gnome paper to use for this project - it's themed by Spring holidays in the year and thought it would be a great match to go with this Mixable Cassy 8x8 Album from Clear Scraps.
For this project, I just wanted to let loose and choose colors and layouts as I went. I started with the first page and wanted to challenge myself to make both sides of the acrylic pages viewable. So, for this, I decided to add a shaker. I've chosen the Mushroom Mini Shaker, colored 2 sides in pink and cut off the stem. I reapply one stem to the front, covered in patterned paper. This is so colors can be seen on both sides.
I've filled it with the Clear Scraps Lovely Sequins, which went well with the colors of my paper. Note that the album page makes a great acrylic backing to this! I love this and will try this again with another project very soon.
Each page staggers between chipboard and acrylic, so for the chipboard pages I've added patterned and plain card stock. I've added some scalloped die cuts to pages where I may add a photo or do some journaling down the road.
Details on my pages included die cut flowers and some store bought embellishments. I've added these with some pop dot foam on occasion, for dimension.
Then, I've also added some coordinating tags that can be lifted out of the album too. These are held in with strips of card stock, glued only on the ends to make a pocket.
For my next see-through page, I've colored the front and back of the Gnome Chipboard Embellishment in white, then added glitter to the beard. I've traced and cut a patterned paper for his hat, and cut a pink nose from an oval die cut for his nose. He's soooo cute!!
I decided to date my album on the final page. My goal is to document big events, goals or fun that I'll be having this year. I've bound the album with album rings and some ribbon tied to those in coordinating colors.
Then on the back, I've added my signature logo in vinyl. Follow your electronic cutting machine instructions for how to apply. Acrylic is so awesome to use with vinyl cuts!
What would be your signature theme, if you created an album for yourself? I encourage you to give it a try - and give the Clear Scraps albums a try too, there are so many to choose from!
Thanks for your attention - I've added some supply items below. Cheers to your new year!
