Clear Scraps--Mini Shaker--Love Notes Easel Card

Hi all!  Laura here with you today to share some inspiration for getting those special Valentine's cards done!

Easel cards are always so much fun to make, and if you've never tried one, they are easier than you think!  And what could make an easel card even better?  Well a Clear Scraps Mini Shaker of course!  There are many that would work for a Valentine's card, but I chose the Mini Shaker Envelope to send a little "Love Note" card!  This one is super easy to work with too!  Just pick your patterned paper for the back part of the shaker, and cut the rectangle to fit--no fussy cutting at all!  The front frame of the envelope was painted with black acrylic paint, and after it dried to add a little something extra, I used white ink and a script stamp.

After all was dry I glued the base layers together and added some of the Clear Scraps Sprinkles Heart Confetti Filler.  Then the acrylic layer and top frame were glued on.  And as a reminder--don't forget to peel that protective layer off of BOTH sides of the acrylic layer!

The card base is simple to create.  I made it a smidge smaller than an A2 size card (4&1/4"x5&1/2").  This card is 4"x5&1/4" when folded.  The base is black cardstock cut 5&1/4" by 8".

The 8" length is scored at 2" and again at 4".  Then folded and creased along those 2 score lines.  That will leave you with a piece that looks like this...

Then you make a front that you will attach to the 2" fold on the front.  This piece you will attach is simply a 4"x5&1/4" piece of black cardstock with a I layered in a 3&3/4"x5" piece of red cardstock adhered to that.

This is where the Mini Shaker Envelope will be attached.

The last thing is to add a strip of paper and a little embellishment (I also added the striped paper that was made using the Clear Scraps 5x9 Grunge Brick Stencil) to give the easel a place to hold when it's open.  A few embellishments on the envelope shaker are the finishing touches.

Thanks for stopping by today!  Hope you are inspired to make a few mini shaker easel cards of your own!
