Hello! It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share a Christmas home decor project I created using one of the fun Shiplap Shapes! I love creating my own DIY projects for my home or to give as gifts! Clear Scraps has so many products to choose from! For today's post, I used the Large Square Shiplap Shape and I'm going to show you the techniques I used!
I began by applying a coat of chalk paint in green to the front of my Shiplap Shape. I did not worry about full coverage or it being perfect. After my paint was dry, I used sanding paper to distress the edges as well as the front of the shape.
Taking the Believe XL Script Wood Word and Christmas Tree Mini DIY Pallet Shape, I painted each with chalk paint in off white. Again I did not worry about my coverage being perfect as I wanted a distressed look.
On my Tree Mini Pallet, I added a strip of patterned paper to the center slat by measuring and cutting the edges. I applied the paper with my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive.
I set aside my tree to work on my "wreath". I used a cut file on my Silhouette with different patterns to create a circle wreath around the Shiplap. I applied my pieces using the Beacon Adhesive.
Once I was happy with my placement, I used my hot glue gun to apply the Believe Script Word as shown. I added a couple weights to the ends while my glue was drying to ensure it was secure.
I added some jute and strips of buffalo plaid ribbon to the front of my tree as well as some enamel dots and chipboard stickers. I affixed the Tree with my hot glue gun.
I gathered some buffalo plaid ribbon and added a floral piece and affixed with hot glue.
With my circle punches, I added different patterns around my wreath as well as additional enamel dots.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today! I hope this inspires you to create your own DIY project with a Clear Scraps Shiplap Shape! Have a wonderful day!
