Scrapbook Layout with Ribbon Shaker

HiYa!

Tami here with you on the Clear Scraps Blog with a scrapbook layout that I'd like to share with you.

Have you tried any of Clear Scraps Mini Shakers yet? There are all sorts of designs for holidays and occasions. They are great on all types of projects like cards, altered items, home decor, magnets, gift bag tags and more! You can also use them to embellish your scrapbook layouts. It really adds to the design of the layout while providing an interactive element.

Clear Scraps Mini Ribbon Shaker worked perfectly for this Breast Cancer Awareness layout...

I used a polka dot printed paper from the paper collection to cover the backer on the shaker. I painted the top layer of the shaker with a shiny silver paint to coordinate with the pinks and greys in the layout.

I adhered the 2 chipboard layers to the base, then filled the shaker with several different shades of pink sequins.

Once the shaker was filled, it was time to finish assembling it. I removed the protective film from one side of the acrylic piece and then adhered that side down to the top of the shaker. I removed the other film then adhered the painted layer. I like to remove the protective film one side at a time. It keeps the other side protected from glue or fingerprints while you are adhering it.

If you want to make your page REALLY interactive, consider putting the shaker on the OUTSIDE of your page protector using velcro. That way the shaker can be pulled off and shaken, something your kiddos might enjoy doing.
