Hi Crafty Friends!
Dana here! If you love decorating for Halloween, I have a Spooky Haunted House project I hope you'll like. Today we'll be using Clear Scraps Shiplap House Large Click here
In addition to that, we will use this Spooky cute mini shaker circle-bats Click here and Clear Scraps Spooky sequins! Click here
The paper collection I'll be using is Carta Bella Hocus Pocus along with some other items in my stash.
Let's begin by choosing 3 coordinating papers to cover all 3 sections of of our house and the top roof. I traced, cut out, and using Beacon glue adhered all my papers down onto each section. Then trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife. I smooth any rough edges using my Distress tool.
Once all your papers are in place, I took some Halloween sentiment washi tapes and adhered along the bottom edge of each section of my house.
Using a window diecut from my stash, I diecut 3 windows using black and white cardstock.
For my door, I just cut out a piece of black cardstock measuring 2 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/2 inches. If you have a diecut for the door, feel free to use that. I rounded the top two upper corners on my door before adhering along the bottom edge of my house. I added an ephemera tag onto my door using foam dots. I added a candy corn chipboard sticker on top to cover up the hole on my tag.
Here's a closeup!
Set your house aside for now. We will start to create our mini shaker next. Remove your shaker pieces from your package. Taking your top shaker piece, I painted the bats and around the circle edge, using black acrylic paint. Let dry. Now taking some Stickles-Dark Blue, I applied some onto my bats using a small brush. This adds a nice purple sparklely touch! Now take your bottom shaker piece, trace onto another coordinating paper. Cut, glue and trim away any excess paper. The smooth away any rough edges using a Distress tool. Now glue the two chipboard shaker pieces in place. Fill your shaker with some sequins, beads, buttons, whatever you prefer. I chose Clear Scraps Spooky sequins, since they match so perfectly with color scheme on my shaker. Next add your acrylic layer, but be sure to peel off the protective film from both sides before adhering. Add your top shaker piece in place. To finish my shaker, I added some purple and white pearls around the circle edge. Let your shaker dry throughly before shaking! Otherwise your sequins will stick to the sides.
Here's a closer look!
After your shaker has dried, I glued it onto part of the upper right side of my roof! I cut out some images from my stickers, and ephemera tag to adhere behind each window. Adding foam dots to the back of my Frankstein before adhering. I added acouple puffy ghost stickers on each side of the window on the left side.
Here's some closeups!
Now to decorate my haunted house, I used a variety of stickers, and ephemera pieces. The witch and bat bottle are stickers I had in my craft stash. The ghost/pumpkin and cat were adhered with foam dots on the left side of the door. The October 31st tag I adhered on the chimney and added a bat sticker at the top! Then I also took 3 pipe cleaners and bend them slightly to resemble smoke coming out from the chimney. Using a hot glue gun, I glued them to the back of my chimney. I chose to add a metal hanger on the backside. But you can add ribbon, tulle or whatever you prefer.
