Fall House Shiplap Shape

Hello friends and happy Friday! Its Jennifer on the blog to share a fun, fall home decor project I created using the new Small House Shiplap Shape!  I  love the Shiplap Shapes because they are perfect to create your own DIY home decor projects; and they come in small and large size!  We have definitely had fall weather here in Central Illinois with temperatures in the mid 60's and sunny skies!  The leaves are even beginning to turn so that makes me want to craft something for my house!

Clear_Scraps_Small_House_Shiplap

I began by painting the front of the Shiplap Shape with brown acrylic paint. I did add water to thin out my paint and to give the end result a "stained" look.  You can go as light or dark as you see fit for your own project.

Clear_Scraps_Small_House_Shiplap2

Next, using the HOME Large Chipboard Embellishment Shape, I painted the "H" and "E" with green chalk paint.  I then covered the "O" and "M" with patterned paper using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive. I sanded the edges using my sanding tool on all four letters.

Clear_Scraps_Small_House_Shiplap3

Again using my Beacon adhesive, I affixed a background patterned paper to my Shiplap.  I then mounted my photo onto cardstock and an additional pattern then added a metal clip. I affixed it to my project using foam squares to give some dimension.

Clear_Scraps_Small_House_Shiplap4

I adhered the HOME Chipboard letters again using my foam squares next to my photo.

Clear_Scraps_Small_House_Shiplap5

I then added small embellishments and flowers from the collection (as well as my stash).  I  tend to "pop up" a lot of my elements with foam tape or pop dots.

Lastly, I punched holes at the top of my Shiplap Shape with my Big Bite and threaded some cute gingham ribbon through and knotted.

Pumpkin Cutting Board

Hi crafty friends! It is officially Fall and I wanted to share some fall decor inspiration. Although I do not get to experience the beautiful leaf changes here in Texas, Fall brings cooler weather and fun activities for the family. With the season change comes a decor shift in my house. I created this beautiful decor piece the Small Shiplap Cutting Board and the Stacked Pumpkins Embellishment.

Clear_Scraps_Small_Shiplap_Cutting_Board_1

This layered creation would be perfect as shelf or tiered tray decor. When I think of Fall, the color orange immediately comes to mind. Therefore, I created this piece with the color orange as my focus.

Clear_Scraps_Small_Stacked_Pumpkins_Embellishment_2

I pieced in patterned paper to each section of the Small Shiplap Cutting Board. I wanted to keep the seams exposed. I then used distress sprays and embossing glaze to add color and texture to the Stacked Pumpkins Embellishment. From there I went in with flowers, leaves and clay pieces and created a layered focus for the cutting board.

Clear_Scraps_Small_Shiplap_Cutting_Board_2

My finishing touches included adding stain to the edges of the board and paper, as well as inking and adding art stones.

So there we have it. Tell me what you think below. If you choose to recreate this Fall decor, please be sure to share in the Clear Scraps Creative FB group and tag me.

Happy Fall Y'all

 Hello Friends,

Although it is still blazin' hot here in Arizona, I know it's beginning to cool off in other places. That made me think about a cute little garden gnome.  While I love any kind of gnome this one is especially cute because he also lights up.

In this photo you can see him greeting guests on my front porch and he is totally adorable with his fall colors.

Here he is after dark - still greeting our guests.

I began with the Medium Wood Gnome 1 from Clear Scraps for this one.

I began with covering parts of the base with paper, then the hands and nose were edged with a little pink.

The beard portion was painted with orange and some small holes were drilled.
A string of battery-operated lights were placed through the holes.  Some (lots) leaves were cut out from vellum.
By using vellum, the light will shine through.

The entire beard and lights were covered with leaves - leaving space for the nose.

On the back of the hat and beard pieces I used double sided foam tape to lift the pieces up leaving room for the lights.

A Happy Fall Y'all sign was added and the nose and hands glued on.

Thank you so much for stopping by - hope you got some inspiration.

Day in the Life Envelope Album

Hello Crafty Friends!

Dana here! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to share my album project using one of the newest chipboard albums from Clear Scraps! The envelope chipboard Click here

This album is versatile and can be used two ways. The envelope flap can be flipped horizontal or vertically.

The papers I chose to use are from Echo Park "Day in the Life" collection. This album measures 6 & 1/2 x 8 inches. The envelope flap measures 8 inches across.

To begin, I chose several coordinating papers to cover all my pages including the envelope flap. I recommend using Beacon glue to adhere your paper to your album. This glue is made to use with chipboard and has a strong bond.  Make sure to punch your holes at the top of each paper before adhering to your album pages. I inked all my papers using Distress Ink Gathered Twigs.

20220814_152847

I cut out some of the Journaling cards I wanted to use and paper clipped them together. I left some pieces intact to make flip cards for the inside of our album.

I started decorating the front cover using a few stickers and applying foam dots on the back before adhering to my album cover. For the "Let's get planning " sticker, I mounted it onto one of my Scrap papers before adhering on the left side.

Envelope flap: using foam dots I adhered my ephemera piece in the center of my envelope flap. Added this cute tiny clip sticker at the top and a few enamel dots on the bottom of my envelope flap.

20220815_151151

Inside envelope flap: I glued an ephemera sentiment piece in the center and added a few more enamel dots at the top!

20220815_151203

Page 1 at the top: I took one of the small Journaling cards, scored 1/2 on the left and adhered to the left side. Then added "Enjoy Today" sticker in the upper right corner.

Page 2: I made a pocket page and added some light blue tassel trim along the top edge. Tucked a few Journaling cards inside my pocket and adhered a tiny tag sentiment on the left side of my pocket and an enamel dot!

20220818_140105

Page 3: I scored a Journaling card in half and adhered it on the left side, using foam dots I adhered another journal card on the right.  Applied some tiny enamel dots in scattered places and added a sticker sentiment at the bottom.

Page 4: I decorated my page with more Journaling cards adding pop dots to raise some of my images. Fussy cut around the "Good Vibes" journal card, inked the edges using Distress Ink and pop dot the tiny clip on the lower corner.

20220818_140125

Page 5: I waterfall 5 journal cards in the center. There's room on the back to add photos and some Journaling. I adhered some tiny flag stickers at the top on the left side and another sentiment sticker on the right, and enamel dot.

Page 6: I scored another Journaling card in half to create a flip page that opens to the right. There's room to jot down daily notes. Using foam dots I adhered the sticker alarm clock and cut a "Day in the Life" sentiment from one of my paper borders and glued below my alarm clock image. At the top I applied this flag sentiment sticker using foam dots on the back.

20220818_140132

Page 7: scored 1/2 inch at the top of a larger Journaling card and adhered at the top of my page. I cut a photo mat using white cardstock and measuring 3 & 1/4 x 4 & 1/2 inches underneath my journal card and added a few sticker sentiments on the bottom edge of my photo mat.

Page 8: cut another photo mat measuring 3 & 1/2 x 4 inches and adhered to my page, added acouple sticker sentiments. Adhered a ephemera sentiment added foam dots to the back and adhered on the left side.

20220818_140140

To finish this album, I added 2 silver metal rings and tied some light blue ribbon onto each ring!

Bee Sweet My Darling

Hey y’all, hey!! Tmika here with a SUPER cute and sweet Mini Album. Because, why not??? I saw this Geo Pattern Accordion Shaker Album.

Screen Shot 2022-09-12 at 2.32.25 PM

I knew right when I saw it - It had to become a Bee themed Mini Album!! The pattern was perfect for it. I used Lemon Twist paper collection from Simple Stories to decorate this album.

I used embellishments that were gifted to me from various swap partners to make the cover SHINE! I added gold sentiments “sweet darling” to bring home the theme. This album also has been painted black to make the paper collection pop. The shaker bits on the inside adds interest and allows your eye to wander around the Geo pattern.

All of the edges have been lined with white chalk paint to make it stand out even more. I can't get enough of this book!!

The book is bound with white binding rings and wired buffalo check bows. The dangly charm just seals the cuteness deal!!

This book is ready for photos!!

What do you think??? I hope you like it and are inspired as much as I was to create it!!

Trio of Halloween Shakers

Howdy!

Tami here with you on the Clear Scraps Blog today with not one, not two, but THREE projects I'd like to share with you.

Halloween will be here before you know it, and if you enjoy celebrating the holiday, there is lots to do to get ready! There's the candy to buy - eat - then rebuy for the kids, costumes to make, yard and house to decorate and the list goes on!

So why not get a head start on SpOoKy time by getting a little crafting done?

Clear Scraps has some great Halloween Shakers and I picked 3 to embellish: Mini Tall Pumpkin Shaker, Mini Circle Ghosts Shaker and Mini Spider Shaker...

Clear_scraps_shakers_halloween_boo_ghost_pumpkin_spider_web_chipboard_decor_holiday_posca_pens_markers_tami_sanders

These shakers were so fun to embellish and fill! I hadn't yet tried my paint pens on chipboard, so I decided to use them here rather than paint or ink the shakers. They worked very well, nice and crisp and opaque.

I used printed paper to cover the solid back piece of each shaker. Then filled them with assorted fill including sequins.

I found the Spider Web Chipboard Embellishment in my Clear Scraps stash and adhered the spider shaker to it.

I haven't decided what to use them on yet. I might use them to make a banner, or I could use them on cards or gift bags or even on a scrapbook layout!

SUPPLIES:
Clear Scraps: Spider Web Chipboard Embellishment, Mini Tall Pumpkin Shaker, Mini Circle Ghosts Shaker and Mini Spider Shaker

Happy Birthday Bag Decorations

How many times do you find yourself scrambling last minute to wrap a present?  Maybe you're like me and you keep some bags or wrapping paper around "just in case."  If you do, I have a great idea to jazz up some plain gift bags so your recipients will know you were thinking of them!

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag5

Hi, it's Maureen today - and I have a simple project idea for you that works on any handled gift bag.  All you need is a gift bag, some card stock papers...and the great embellishments from Clear Scraps!

For this project, I'm using the Mini Shaker Present Shape along with the Birthday Chipboard Word Title and one of the Two Presents Chipboard Embellishments.  I started by painting these with a white acrylic paint.  When that dried, I did a coat of sparkle glitter glue on top.

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag2

Next, I've taken a piece of black card stock, cut at 6.5" by 8.5" and folded it in half the long way.  Then, I proceeded to die cut a rectangular opening in the middle.  This worked best for me by using a die cut on the fold and put it through my die cut machine; however, you can simply hand cut a rectangular opening instead.  It just needs to be long enough to fit your handles through.

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag1

I've placed this bag topper over my folded bag, and then began to decorate the front of the topper.  Feel free to use your imagination as you decide how this should look!  I've glued some letters that spell HAPPY on the top right corner and then added my sparkly Birthday Chipboard Title underneath.  I like how these are a contrasting font from each other.

In the left corner, I've added my Present Chipboard Embellishment along with some coordinating papers as decoration.  This embellishment is backed by a black and white polka dot paper, and glued to the topper.

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag4

To assemble the Present Mini Shaker, I'm using the same black and white polka dot paper as a background, glued to the base piece.  Then, I glue 2 of the outlines to this shape, and fill it with an assortment of colorful confetti.  I also did the bow - this has a yellow pattern paper as a background, and to get the shape right, I trace it first with a pencil then cut it out.  These holes in the bow have black confetti - such fun!

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag6

When you have the colors you want inside, take the acrylic piece of the mini shaker and remove the film from both sides.  Then, use a clear glue to adhere it to the top of your shaker.  The final step is to glue on the painted sparkly top border and let dry.

Once your shaker is ready, put your bag topper on your bag first to measure how far down it will go.  Then, glue the shaker on to the bag before you open it.  Don't glue it too far down, or the bag won't open well for you.

Clear_Scraps_Birthday_Bag3

And now we have a personalized gift bag ready for gift giving!  The color possibilities are endless - and this would also work for holidays too.  How will you decorate your gift bag?

I hope you give this project a try!  I've listed some supplies below if you do.  Thanks for joining me today - see you next time!

Additional supplies:  gift bag with handles, card stock, glitter glue, white acrylic paint, glue, confetti and assorted papers for letters and shapes

Crafty Hoop Card

Hi crafty friends! Let's make a cute and colorful card fit for your favorite crafter.

Clear_Scraps_Embroidery_Hoop_Embellishement_1

You will need:

  • Embroidery Hoop Embellishments
  • Embossing Powder
  • Embossing Ink
  • 4 1/4in x 5 1/2in piece of solid cardstock
  • 2 1/8in x 5 1/2in piece of patterned cardstock
  • Die cuts or stickers
  • Glue and Foam Adhesive
  • Acetate/Clear Plastic
  • Sentiment

First, grab the Embroidery Hoop Embellishments. You will only need one for this card.

IMG_1317

Heat emboss your embroidery hoop. I used yellow for the body of the hoop and gold at the top to highlight the metal pieces of an embroidery hoop. If you do not want to heat emboss, you can simply paint the hoop or use a medium like Nuvo drops.

IMG_1323

Adhere your acetate to the back and remove the excess from around the embroidery hoop.

IMG_1325

Layer your die cuts/stickers along the bottom left of the hoop. Be strategic to cover any imperfections in your embossing powder application. Add foam tape when layering pieces to create dimension.

IMG_1339 IMG_13411

Now, let's work on the card front. Adhere the patterned cardstock strip to one side of solid cardstock. You should create a split card front. If you would like to take things a step further, consider stitching around the panel as I did. However, this is optional.

IMG_1345 IMG_1346

Align your hoop in the center of your panel and adhere it down. Finally, adhere this completed panel to the card base and there you have a completed card.

My Little Monster

                                                                              Hello my crafty friends,

It's Sandy Diller here with a cute little frame that can be assembled quickly with such fun results.

I used the Base with Square Frame for this project.

After all pieces were painted I added a favorite photo and assembled the frame.

Once the frame was added to the base, it was time for me to embellish with some monsters and stars.

Thanks for stopping by,

Sandy

Got Candy Halloween Gnomie

How many trick or treaters do you get each Halloween?  If you're like our house, we get several dozen throughout the night.  I thought I'd decorate a special gnome to keep me company this year out on the front porch as the kids stop by.  He's so darn "sweet," don't you think?? Hee hee!

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome8

So I'm starting this project with the Medium Gnome #2 because the hat looks a bit like a witch's pointy hat.  I have to say I love this size gnome because it can stand up against a wall on the floor or be added to a shelf too.  And of course, the decorating ideas are endless!  Actually that's always the hardest part - narrowing down how I want to dress up these Clear Scraps gnomes!

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome1

I began by base-coating the hat in orange acrylic paint and the arms and nose in a coral pink.  I like to sand down the pieces after the first coat of paint, then add a second coat after.

The beard is painted in a light gray and the shoes on the gnome are done in black acrylic paint.  All items need to dry thoroughly and you can add a second coat as needed.

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome10

I really liked this Halloween patterned stripe paper I had in my stash, and thought they would look great as pants for my gnome, so I traced the backside of the paper with a pencil then cut it out a bit smaller than what I traced.  This is glued to the bottom base piece of the gnome, and trimmed on the edges where there was any overlap.

Now I wanted my gnome to look like he was holding a classic pumpkin bucket so I took the smaller of the two Jack O' Lantern Chipboard Embellishments, and trimmed off the stem.  This was painted in a couple coats of the same orange acrylic paint.

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome2

I then took some black card stock and traced it into an oval.  I also had some black and white twine, so I trimmed a small piece of this and glued it to the back of the jack o'lantern.  Then I glued the card stock over it.  Set this piece aside to dry.

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome3

Detailing is one of my favorite parts of a painting project!  It may seem intimidating, but the interesting thing is that it is quite easy and adds such a professional finish to a project.  To detail the hat, start by taking a thin paintbrush and some black paint and follow the edge of the hat around at about 18" away from the edge.  Every so often, make an indent as if the hat is "folding."

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome5

Next, follow along on some of the edges with a thicker paintbrush and some light gray paint.  These strokes are added in several spots around the outline, but don't have to be added everywhere.

Finally add a thinner line of white to some of the edges.  And now you have highlights!

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome4

You will do the same with the jack o'lantern - and if you don't trust yourself with a paintbrush, you can use a permanent black marker instead.  If you don't like how something looks, don't worry!  Paint over the shape and start again.

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome7

My gnome's beard is painted with dark gray and white highlights.  Here I've added some die cut letters to spell CANDY on the edge of his beard, and I speckled them with some paint colors first.  The word "got" is simply a permanent marker and my handwriting!

To add the pumpkin bucket, glue the twine down on top of the gnome's beard, and then his hands over it.  Do the same with the nose and a hat embellishment.  I've added a die cut web to his hat for some wicked "flair!"

Clear_Scraps_Candy_Gnome9

I love this little guy - his bucket hangs loose and swings just a bit, which is like a little pumpkin-secret!

Feel free to give this project a try to dress up your patio this season - and see the supply list below for items you'll need.  Now I'm off to find some peanut butter cups for my candy dish!

Maureen

Additional supplies:  orange/black/gray/white acrylic paint, black permanent marker, black and patterned paper, spider web shape or die cut, twine

Fall Shaker Ornaments

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Dana and I'm back with a fun project just in time for fall. I love shakers and I thought it would be fun to create something different this time around. So why not turn our favorite shakers into ornaments! Clear Scraps has such a wide variety of shakers to chose from. So be sure to check them out.

For today's project, we'll be using Clear Scraps maple leaf, owl and circle mini shakers.

20220811_182734

But feel free to create which ever ones you prefer. I think this would be also fun to create different shaker ornaments for different seasons and holidays too.

The papers are chose to use are from Simple Stories "Cozy Days" collection. But any fall papers you already have will work just fine.

Let's begin with the maple least shaker.

I began by choosing one of the papers to cover my bottom shaker piece. I cut out and glued my paper down using Beacon glue. This glue is strong ND made to work well with chipboard. I trimmed away any excess paper using my x-acto knife. Then using my Distress tool, I smoothed out any rough edges.  For my top shaker piece, I applied some Sparks Ginger Magic paint over the top. Once dry, I took a brush and applied some copper Glitterific over top. This gives a nice glittery accent. Then I painted the stem of my leaf with some brown acrylic paint. Set aside to dry.

20220812_180818

Glue your next two chipboard layers on top with your Beacon glue.  Fill your shaker with sequins, beads whatever you like. I used Clear Scraps Fall sequins Click here  Take the acrylic shaker piece and peel off the protective film from both sides before gluing on top of your previous layers. Then glue your top piece in place. I like to add a few clothespins to hold my shaker firmly in place until the glue dries. Do not shake or move your shaker until it dries throughly.  To finish, I  added a sticker sentiment along the bottom edge.

20220813_181229

Owl Shaker: Trace, cut and glue your paper to your bottom shaker piece as we did before. Trim away any excess paper using your x-acto knife and Distress any rough edges using a Distress or sanding tool. I took my top shaker piece and covered it with another coordinating paper from this collection. Repeat the same steps as before. I fussy cut out to small hearts from my scrap paper and glued one inside each section of my owls eyes. I took and diecut a scalloped shape from one of the sentiments on my Journaling card. Glue the sentiment in the center of my bottom section of my owl shaker. I painted the owls feet using some light pink acrylic paint.

20220813_121756

I then adhered my next two chipboard shaker pieces in place. Add any shaker filler of your choice in each section of your shaker. I chose Clear Scraps heart confetti Click here  Peel off the protective film from both sides of the acrylic piece and glue in place. Add your top shaker piece. Then set aside to dry throughly before shaking!

20220813_141804

Circle shaker:

Repeat the same steps as we previously did. I covered my top shaker piece with another coordinating paper. But you can decorate yours using paints, sprays or glitter. I diecut another sentiment piece and glued in the center of my bottom base.

20220813_132640

I added a cute pumpkin spice coffee sticker on one side of my sentiment. And fussy cut a smalll pumpkin, inked around the edges and glued on the right side of my sentiment piece. Glue your next two chipboard layers in place. Add your shaker filler, acrylic layer and top piece. Set aside to dry throughly. I also adhered a grateful sticker sentiment along the bottom of my shaker.

20220813_141724

To finish our ornaments I hot glued a piece of jute cord to the back of each shaker. Now they are ready to hang on your fall tree or even in your window.

SWEET SIXTEEN FOR MY KYLA

So my last child, my last girl..has turned 16!! I can’t believe how fast time flies!! Nonetheless, here I am sharing a little glimpse into Kyla’s Sweet Sixteen birthday party. She had a blast. A small intimate hotel party sleepover - with a trip to the trampoline park!!

I smashed my thumb LITERALLY before the guests and birthday girl arrived..UGH..so painful. I STILL have the black thumb.. Anywho, I was not able to finish the decoration- so they had to pose WHILE holding up the backdrop!!  So here is a little snapshot of that.

I used the Base with Scallop Stand for my photo.

Screen Shot 2022-09-12 at 2.10.49 PM

I also had to add the Mini Shaker Purse because I bought the guests a Coach wristlet as a gift!! Although the pictures didn't come out as good as I'd hoped, the purse shaker frame will do just fine as a fill in!

Screen Shot 2022-09-12 at 2.10.30 PM

I surrounded the photo with gold leaf die cuts, paper flowers from my stash. I added the word sixteen and attached it with a thin piece of acetate. My (almost) favorite part is the purse charm dangle - SO CUTE!!!

What do you think??? I hope you like it and are inspired as much as I was to create it!!

Magical Memory Shaker Page

Hi crafty friends!

What's the most magical place on Earth? Hands down it is Disney, right?! Well, I was surprised with a trip to Disney World for my birthday and snapped a tons of pictures of my kids having a blast. Sometimes I find layouts to be stressful, so I opt to make pocket pages to document certain memories.

So, I am sharing a cute, and easy memory keeping project. I decided to use the Mouse 2 Chipboard Embellishments to add a little magic to a pocket page that I was working on. All you need is a pocket page, some paint, and a sequins mix to add some sparkle to a memory page.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse2_Embellishment_3

I painted my embellishment and added in a sequins mix. I sealed the pocket using my Fuse Tool. It's as easy as that. Add in your pictures. Layer in some stickers, and there you have a completed pocket page.

Clear_Scraps_Mouse2_Embellishment_2

I love the versatility of these embellishments. You could even make the mouse heads into shakers if you would prefer.

I hope you enjoyed this quick project share! If you recreate this, please be sure to share your project in the Clear Scraps Creative FB group and tag me.

Hello Sunflowers Acrylic Sign

Hola!

Tami here with a project I'd like to show you.

I wanted to try out my new paint pens on acrylic and decided to try them using Clear Scraps 6" Sunflowers Stencil and 12 X 12 XL Deco Squares Acrylic.

I have used techniques where you draw on, paint or ink both sides of the acrylic before and thought that would work well for this project. I love how bright and shiny the paint looks viewed from the front...

Clear_scraps_sunflower_acrylic_stencil_hello_wood_title_posca_paint_pen_marker_sign_sunflowers_decor_fall_tami_sanders

here are closeups of the sunflowers and the wood word...

I started by removing the protective film from ONE side of the acrylic. I then used a fine point sharpie to draw in the sunflowers across the entire square, letting the designs go off the edges.

Next, I FLIPPED the acrylic over and removed the protective film from the other side. I used brown, orange and yellow pens to fill in the outlines I made on the other side. Then let the paints dry. From the side you are painting on, the inks look opaque and not that perfect. But the magic happens when you turn the piece over! When viewed from the front - the side I used the Sharpie to outline the designs - the paints are bright, shiny and look very smooth and even.

I decided the piece needed a little something more, so I found the Hello XL Script Wood Word in my Clear Scraps stash. I used the white pen to add a cross-hatch pattern all over it. Then outlined in brown to define it. I used Zip Dry to adhere the sentiment to the lower portion of the sign.

You can display it on a stand as I have done here, or maybe punch holes in the top and hang it.

Thank you for stopping by the Clear Scraps Blog today. Please come back soon to see what other goodies Clear Scraps talented designers have to share with you!

Hi friends! It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share a fall mini album I created using some new Clear Scraps products!  Fall is one of my favorite times of year with the changing leaves and fun activities!  I recently visited my brother and SIL in Michigan where we went to a local farm for donuts and hot cider!

I began with the 5x7 Chipboard Tab Album and painted the outside edges with off-white chalk paint. You can use any type of paint however I prefer chalk paint as it dries quickly and adheres nicely to the chipboard.

On the front cover, I painted an additional width on the left side so that I could create my own background. Using the 5x9 Leaves Mixer Stencil and Distress Oxide Inks, I blended my colors from light to dark as shown.

Again using chalk paint (this time in a nice orange color) I painted the Stacked Pumpkins Chipboard Embellishment Shapes. Once dry, I backed the openings with patterned paper and cut away excess with my scissors.

Here is a close up of the Mixer Stencil + Distress Oxide Inks! You can go as light or dark as you choose.

Each page has a background piece measuring 4 x 6.75 inches.  I then added embellishments and/or additional patterned papers. I usually reserve the inside of my front cover for journaling.

I printed my photos at 4x4 and matted them onto white cardstock.  However you can easily fit a trimmed vertical 4x6 or even a few wallet sized on these pages!

Its always fun to "stack" photos if you have similar groupings.  Here, I cut my pictures to 2.5 x 3.75 inches and added a "flap".
