Dare to Wonder

Hey!! It's Tmika on your feed here to give you something to think about. Have you ever sat and Wondered?? Just literally sat down, gazed into the air and thought. Wondered what would happen if you started that business, if you took a chance, if you took a risk.. I do. I often have to be nudged a bit to snap me out of it. I usually write down my thoughts and come back to them later.

I say all of that to say - my Buppa - my first grandbaby..always stares into oblivion.. I wonder what he thinks about, what he sees.. does he like us?? Lol!! I captured these photos (and many many more) of my little Buppa - thinking. I just knew that these little snaps were made for a layout.

I used the Circle Medium DIY Pallet Shape as my base. I used some craft stain in espresso to give the blank wood some color. After a couple of coats - I let it dry.

Pppp Screen Shot 2022-08-13 at 8.08.34 PM

I then went in with the 4x6 Brick wall stencil and white paste to give the layout some dimension and texture.

Llll

I used Mintay's paper collection Tiny Miracles for the surrounding die cuts. Those were all fussy cut out by hand. Cause I love my Buppa :)

IMG_0044

I love the contrast between the dark wood and the lighter papers. I printed out and used a stitched circle die to cut them out.

IMG_0044

I finished the layout with some lace and webbing from my stash. Added some shimmer and flat back pearls to complete the layout.

What do you think Buppa is thinking?? I'd love to know your thoughts, lol!!  Anywho, that's all for now. I hope you liked what I created and will try some of these techniques at home. And remember - You're never too old to WONDER!

Wander Butterfly Tag

Hi crafty friends! Today I am sharing a layered tag.

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022_31

The tag is from the Chipboard Tag Album and the butterfly is from the Fancy Butterflies Set.

The tag is covered in fabric washi. I wanted to accentuate the orange and pink hues in the background, so I chose to use those on the butterfly embellishment. I initially heat embossed the butterfly using a beige powder to serve as a base. I then used saltwater taffy embossing glaze along the upper portion of the butterfly and met that with a deeper pink embossing powder to create a gradient.

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022_34

With that complete,  I began layering. I used a mix of die cuts, crochet trim, and flowers to provide dimension. I them used thread, art stones and sequins to further embellish and add texture.

To finish this off, I added a sentiment and splattered white ink. I also added heat to the acetate leaves to create more movement throughout the project.

Twinkle Twinkle - Bailey 12x12 Layout by Kristin Rizzo

Twinkle Twinkle - Bailey 12x12 Layout

Hello, it's Kristin here and I am thrilled to be sharing my first project for the Clear Scraps Design Team.  I love to scrapbook and when I do, I like to challenge myself to use product and papers that I love that don't necessarily suit my needs.  For this layout I used a baby-themed paper for a doggie layout.  This was a very layout that came together relatively quick once I had my shaker made.

Bailey1

I used the Dog Bone Shaker that you can find here:  Dog Bone Shaker. I used some white acrylic paint from my stash to paint around the edges.  I painted around the inner and outer edges of each layer as well.  I backed the shaker with a pink patterned paper with teeny tiny hearts on it.  I then made my own shaker mix (dog bones, pink cupped, white cupped, clear cupped and paw print sequins).  I then glued the acrylic piece to the top layer and set it aside.  Next, I glue the other three layers together, added the sequin mix and then attached the top of the shaker.  I love how cute it turned out!

Bailey5

The sky is the limit with the Clear Scraps SHAKERS! - I love that you can fill them with so many different things and whatever you decide to back the shakers with can dramatically change the look!

Bailey3

For this layout, I started with a white cardstock base and added brown, gold and yellow splatters using different sprays from my stash.  I then we to my 6x8 paper pad and started layering random, different sized strips of patterned paper until I liked how it looked.  Before I glued them down, I distressed the edges.

Bailey4

Finally, I added all the embellishments.  For fun, I added a few of the little bone sequins.  The 3x4 card that I used seemed appropriate for the photo of my little Bailey Girl getting ready for a nap.

Bailey2

I'd love to hear what you think of this project, so please feel free to leave a comment below letting me know what you think.  Please let me know if you have any questions and, be sure to join the Clear Scraps Facebook group!  If you find inspiration from this project and decide to recreate it, please tag me (IG: @scrapkat773) and Clear Scraps (IG: @clearscraps).  We would love to see it!  Thanks so much for stopping by!

Have a great week!

Sweet Summertime Layout

Hi crafty friends!

Anyone scrapbook? I have to admit that I am not a consistent scrapbooker and when I create a layout, it. usually is 6x8 instead of 12x12. Today I am sharing a sweet and simple layout that I designed with my daughter in mind.

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022_22

To shake things up, I used the Mini Shaker Popscicle. I heat embossed the top layer of the shaker to add texture and color. I backed the shaker with a watercolored page and added a swirled sequins mix.

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022_23

The background of the entire layout is filled with splattered inks. I wanted the yellow-orange hues to be more vibrant so I went back in with fossilized amber stain and used it as watercolor. I used the 4x6 Coffee Stain Stencil and added more splatters throughout. The floral die cut is stamped and ink blended to coordinate. I popped that element up to create more depth. Stitched accents were my finishing touch.

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022_24 (1)

All of these elements + my daughter make for a sweet summertime layout. I hope you enjoyed this post and project.

Please leave a comment below letting me know what you think. Questions are also welcome. Be sure to join the Clear Scraps Facebook group and find this beauty posted there as well. Stenciled Shiplap Cutting Board

Howdy!

Tami here on the Clear Scraps Blog today with a project I'd like to share with you.

Have you had a chance to take a look at Clear Scraps' new SHIPLAP SHAPES? You can find them along with some other new products from Clear Scraps in the "What's New" category.

The Shiplap Shapes come in 2 sizes, large and small. I used the Large Shiplap Cutting Board to make this home decor piece...

Clear_scraps_shiplap_cutting_boarrd_large_wood_birch_stencil_quote_home_decor_tami_sanders

I had painted a cabinet to match the new paint in my living room and I had some leftover paint. I decided to use that paint so it would match the colors I already had in the room.

I started by giving the wood a nice, thick coat of aqua paint and letting it dry completely.

After the paint dried, I started applying the designs on the Enjoy the Little Things, 6 X 16 stencil.

I used a dark grey pigment ink for "enjoy"...

Clear_scraps_shiplap_cutting_boarrd_large_wood_birch_stencil_quote_home_decor_tami_sanders_cu1

Pigment Ink takes awhile to dry, so I sped up the dry time using a heat gun. It is important to heat set each design as it is applied so that you don't smear the portions you've already done while you ink new areas.

A dark red color was used for the "the little things" and again, I heat set each word as it was added. I also cleaned the stencil in between each word too. Again, to avoid any potential for smearing or ink transfer.

Another good hint for using stencils is to use blue painters tape to hold the stencil and materials to your work surface and to keep the stencil from moving while you ink it

Also keep in mind you don't necessarily have to use a stencil as it is made! You can just use portions of it or change the placement of the items on the stencil. In the case of this stencil, the small words underneath were too long to fit on the cutting board. So I centered "little" under "enjoy", then brought the other 2 words in closer to either side of it.

You can also use pieces of blue tape to tape off any portions of the stencil design you don't want to use that are close to those portions you DO want to use. Don't forget to mark off the edges of the stencil where the design is close to the edge. Doing this will help you to keep the ink or paint where you want it!

To finish the cutting board, I made a bow from vintage black seam binding and a dotted natural ribbon. I also tied on a few pieces of greenery for a little "freshness"...

Pretty in Pink

Hey!! Tmika here again sharing a cute, quick and very pink post!! I absolutely had to play with this cute Camera Mini Shaker!! It's so adorable :) I am having a hard time trying to figure out which I like best - the pink, the photo or the camera!! (Because I think my daughter is reading this, I'll go with the photo, lol! )I used some stickers and embellishments from Maggie Holmes Road Trip to accent this little gem.

6a010534afc83e970c02a2eed09582200d-320wi (1)

I started out by gluing all by the shaker pieces together with wet glue. After it was dry, I gave it 2 coats of pink chalk paint (Waverly).  The chipboard took the paint beautifully. :)

IMG_5952

I mixed up a matching sequin mix and added it where I could. A little touch of gems, gold bling trim and string make this pop! My little "Hello" sentiment is from my stash. This shaker can be a great addition to a layout or mini album.. it is also great on its own as a little decor piece. I hope you like what Im sharing today and will try this at home.

Snowman Shaker Scrapbook Layout

What does your holiday storage situation look like?  Do you keep all the pictures of Christmas around for memories?  Hi, it's Maureen with you today!  I have a confession - I've got a lot of holiday items in storage.

That's why I started a project this Summer to take all of the Christmas pictures I had in frames and move them to an album.  I had so many tabletop frames to store and I thought it was just better to start clearing out some space!  So, this page is one of the layouts I've done to get pictures moved into a holiday scrapbook.

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout8

This picture is of my family at a place where we took a ride on the Polar Express up to the North Pole.  Our kids got to wear their pajamas, and we sang songs and drank hot cocoa.  It's a memory that I remember fondly, as Santa made his way on to the train and gave every child a sleigh bell.

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout4

I worked in the colors and patterns that are on my son's pajamas into this page.  First up is the snowman - he's a fun addition to the page, isn't he?  I'm using the Snowman Mini Shaker along with the Winter Flake Sprinkles filler.  Great colors to work with!

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout2

When working with the shakers, don't forget to take off the protective film on the acrylic panels on both sides.  The snowman is card stock paper on the back panel in various colors, and for the face, I stamped it with a doll stamp I had and drew in a nose.  He's painted with a top coat of black and white and completed by a vibrant ribbon on top!

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout6

The Clear Scraps Mini Shakers are always a great way to fill white space on a layout, and I love how the snowman is gazing up at the picture!

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout3

I'm also using the Mitten Chipboard Embellishments on this page - a perfect shape for my 8.5" by 11" layout.  These are covered with a turquoise patterned paper, and the cuffs are a white card stock embossed with swirl patterns.  I laid it over the cuff and then trimmed off the excess.

Clear_Scraps_Snowman_Shaker_Scrapbook_Layout7

The mittens look great as a backdrop for my page title - I've added a little glitter by using a black shimmery card stock in the font, and also a bit of embroidery floss to look like the yarn ties on the mittens.

I feel really accomplished getting this done and I'm so glad there are great items to choose from like these embellishment and shaker items.  I hope this inspires you to get a couple scrapbook projects done as well.  Have a great day and we will see you next time!

Maureen

Sunset Anniversary Album

Hi everyone! Natasha here, debuting my first project for Clear Scraps. I thought the Boat Wood Accordion Shaker Album would be the perfect anniversary album. Make it with me!

NatashaPolite_CSAug2022

To begin, grab a few pieces of 12 x 12 paper and map which portions you would like to serve as mats for your album.

Overview_NP

Grab your craft knife and glue and began adhering each wood page down one side at a time and cutting away the excess. Once completing one side, punch your holes, adhere the mat to the other side, and then punch again. Do this for all pages.

AllMattedPages_NP

Begin inking with dried marigold stain from the top to the middle of each detailed panel.  Now meet the dried marigold with  stormy sky stain, working from the bottom to the middle.

Stained_NP

Create an "acetate sandwich" once you have decided which panel would serve as the cover.*Remove the film from the side that you are adhering to the wood panel.

RemoveFilm_NP

Choose which matted page would serve as the background for the cover. Add your sequins mix inside of the acetate sandwich.  Apply glue to the detailed panel and adhere the solid panel on top, ensuring that everything is aligned.

ShakerMix_NP

XompletedFront_NP

Using the 4x6 Plaid Stencil and picket fence ink, add detail to the top of the cover.

Stencil_NP
Now add all of the additional decorations you would like to the front cover. I used scraps from cutting out the page mats and some flowers from my stash.

Layering_NP

And there you have it! Go back in with stickles, bling, and a sentiment and your cover is complete! To bind the album, I used some white cording that has shimmer.

Hawaiian Vacation 3D Frameable

Hi there Craft Friends!

I'm Dana and it's time to share another Home Decor project featuring Clear Scraps 3D Frameables! These are so easy to create and fun to decorate and embellish!  For this project today we will be using Clear Scraps Square base and frame Click here  and Word and Shape vacation/palm tree Click here   This is a perfect way to display a favorite summer vacation photo!

20220729_145841

For my project, I chose a Hawaiian theme since my daughter and son in law recently went to Hawaii for their honeymoon. The papers I chose are from Vicki Boutin "Sweet Rush" paper collection.

To begin, I took out my palm tree shape and  vacation word piece from my package. Using a paintbrush i applied some bright green acrylic paint on the palm leaves. For the tree trunk base, I applied some rust paste brown and gold using a bouncing motion and layering one on top of another. I want to create a more rustic texture to the trunk. For the bottom of my palm tree, I applied a coat of tan acrylic paint. Let dry. Then applied some texture sand over the top. Let dry.

20220729_153008

Taking my vacation words piece, I applied some Finnibair Sparks paint- Mermaid Pond on the top. Yellow acrylic paint in the middle and orange acrylic paint on the bottom. Let dry.

20220729_192743

Remove both of your bottom wood bases from your package. I traced with a pencil around each shape. Cut out roughly and using Beacon glue, I applied my paper to both bases. Then using a x-acto knife, I trimmed away any excess paper. Then using a Distress tool or sanding tool, smooth out any rough edges. Make sure your slots are lined up correctly and evenly, before adhering both pieces together. I added some silver rope trim along the bottom edge of my base.

20220730_150553

20220730_150605

Next I fussy cut out one of the pretty flowers from my leftover papers. Inked along the edges using Distress Ink-Rusty Hinge. I applied some Spectrum Noir Glossy Highlights medium to add dimension and 3 D look. Let dry overnight.

20220729_183122

Taking my two frame pieces, I adhered some matching floral washi tape along the edge of the front part of my frame.

20220730_112508

20220730_113455

Then I chose a favorite photo and adhered to the center of my back frame base. Then glue your top frame in place. Make sure you lined the edges up at the top. Slide into place on your base.

Now the fun part of decorating your frame and adding any embellishments you like. I used some Jolee stickers and added foam dots to the back of my fussy cut flower and adhered to the right lower corner on my frame. I added a small flower sticker on the dot of the "I" in vacation along with some wave stickers at the bottom. To finish I adhered a "Hawaii " title sticker at the top!

Crown Mini Shaker Shape Album

Hello friends! Its Jennifer back on the blog today to share a fun baby themed mini album I created using a few Clear Scraps goodies!  And I'm going to show you the easy techniques I used so you can recreate them on whichever project you select!

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album

I began by using the Mixable Cutie Album which has cascading acrylic and chipboard pages!  For my acrylic pages, I wanted to add a pop of color so I  applied alcohol ink in Honeycomb yellow. I  did not worry about whether I had full coverage as I  knew I'd be adding patterned paper at some point.  For my chipboard pages, I painted the outer 1/3rd  as shown both front and back.

Clear_Scrap_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album2

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album3

Next, I was ready to focus on my front cover (which is the smallest acrylic page).  For my focal point, I used the Crown Mini Shaker Shape.  I painted the top frame, as well as the inside + outside edges of the two inner chipboard frames.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album6

I covered the chipboard base with patterned paper then used an X-Acto knife and sanding tool to remove excess paper.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album4

Using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive, I affixed the two middle chipboard frames as show and then filled my shaker with chunky glitter.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album5

After removing the protective film from both sides of my acrylic piece, I  adhered it to the shaker  (it is usually best to apply your adhesive to the chipboard and not the acrylic during this step).  Lastly, I daubed the top chipboard frame with embossing ink followed by applying a generous amount of embossing powder.  After removing the excess powder, I set with my heat tool.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Albu7

Here is the inside of the front cover. I added a cute journaling card plus some smaller embellishments.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album7

The next page is chipboard which I created a pocket with patterned paper and my sewing machine.  The collection I used had a sheet of tag so I thought it would be fun to add a few to the pocket.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album8

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album9

For the next acrylic page, my focal point is the Onesie Chipboard Embellishment Shape. I tried to use minimal patterned paper to allow the alcohol ink to show through as well as to center my embellishment.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album10

I  first painted the chipboard using a light pink chalk paint.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album11

Once dry, I  daubed with embossing ink followed by dumping an ample amount of embossing powder   Once I  removed the excess powder, I set with my heat tool. I adhered the Onesie Chipboard using my 3-in-1 Beacon Adhesive.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album12

Here is the backside of the page that was just shown. I tried to "line up" my papers and embellishments as close as possible.  You can see I added some journaling space.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album13

Next is a larger chipboard page.  I've been wanting to do a cascade waterfall for photos/journaling in a min for while After watching some videos on YouTube, I think I figured it out. In hindsight I probably over filled my pages (I  love my layers) but I  think it turned out cute!  I  tied the waterfall off with some yellow seam binding.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album14

And here is the last page which I used the Embroidery Hoop Chipboard Embellishment Shape. I think its a nice splash of pink against the different colors!

Clear_Scraps_CRown_Mini_Shaker_Album15

For the Embroidery Hoop, I followed the same technique as the Onesie and the top frame of the Crown.  I  painted the chipboard with chalk paint in light pink.

Clear_Scraps_Crown_Mini_Shaker_Album16

Once my paint was dry, I  daubed the chipboard with embossing ink followed by ample amounts of pink embossing powder.  Lastly heat tool to set

Stenciled Jeans

Hola!

Tami here with a project I'd like to share with you.

Embellished jeans are growing in popularity this season, but they can be a bit pricey. With the kids heading back to school and needing new school clothes and supplies, shopping on a budget is a must for most of us. So why not add those embellishments to some inexpensive jeans or even upcycle some from a resale shop.

If you have a crafty teen or tween, they might enjoy trying this project all by themselves. It would be easy enough for younger kiddos to attempt too with a little help from mom or grandma.

I found some jeans on clearance for around $10 and decided to add a little bit of summer to them to enjoy the season a little longer before heading into fall...

Clear_scraps_flower_stencil_jeans_altered_clothing_ink_kids_project_back_to_school_tami_sanders

Clear Scraps has TONS of stencils in lots of great themes and designs. The stencils also come in 2 sizes: 6" and 12", so you can pick which size would work best for your project. You could even use both sizes to add a mix of different sizes of designs to your altered clothing.

I wanted to embellish the bottoms of my jeans with flowers so I selected the 12" Flower Power Stencil...

I started by washing and drying the jeans to make sure I removed any sizing that was in the fabric. The sizing can sometimes prevent the ink or paint you use from fully penetrating the fabric, or make the designs wash off easily.

If needed, also iron the fabric to make sure it is nice and flat. I tucked a few layers of paper in the legs of the jeans as I worked to prevent the ink from leaking through to the other side. Check the directions on the paint or ink you use to find out how to "set" it and make it permanent.

I used a craft ink that needs to be heat set to make it permanent.

Blue Painter's Tape is helpful to hold the stencil in place as you work. I also use it to tape over any designs that are close to the ones I plan to use so I don't accidentally ink a portion of a stencil I didn't want to use.

I inked all the flowers first, then heat set them. Next, I outlined them with a permanent pen to make the designs stand out more.

The last step was to sew on some buttons for the flower centers; I used white embroidery thread. You can add a drop of glue (that withstands washing) to the knot to keep the button in place.

Clear_scraps_flower_stencil_jeans_altered_clothing_ink_kids_project_back_to_school_tami_sanders_cu

You could also sew on some trim along the bottom of the jeans.

Another option is to use some scrap denim to stencil designs on, then cut them out and glue or sew them on. the edges will ravel a little bit each time in the wash, distressing the look! Or you could zig zag stitch around them or use a product to seal the edges if you don't want it to ravel.

Your child will have something unique to wear to school that no one else will have!

I hope you enjoyed today's project; please stop back by soon. Some brand spanking NeW designers have joined the team and will be sharing their projects and talent with you starting this month!

Enchanted Fairies Chipboard Tab Album

Hello Craft Friends!

It's Dana and I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog with a mini album project I hope you'll like. Mini albums are one of my favorite things to craft. Clear Scraps has many new album styles to choose from. The one we'll be using today, is the Chip layer tabbed album Click here

20220720_120503

In addition to that we will be using Clear Scraps Dragonflies chipboard embellishment Click here

I adore fairies and whimsical designs. So these papers from Memory Place "Enchanted " collection were just what I was looking for.

This album measures 5x8 inches, not including the tabs. First I covered both the front and back covers and all the inside pages using a variety of coordinating papers from this collection. Note: both the last album page and back cover measures 6 & 1/2 x 8 inches.  The tabs measure 1 &1/2 inches x 2 inches. I covered all the tabs with wood patterned papers. I did use Distress Ink Gathered Twigs and inked all of my papers before adhering. I recommend using Beacon glue it is perfect for chipboard and it won't buckle your papers. Set your pages aside for now.

20220720_182428

Dragonflies embellishment: cut apart one of the Dragonflies from your chipboard piece. You can save the other dragonfly for a future project. I painted the antennas, body and head using a black paint pen. Then added craft glue to both wings. Then sprinkled some Martha Stewart Florentine gold glitter onto both wings. Shake off any excess glitter. Set aside to dry.

20220720_182710

Front cover: I fussy cut the fairy holding the flower, inked along the edges and adding foam dots to the back. Adhere your fairy over the matching image on your cover paper.  I added some Stickles Stardust glitter to her dress and the flower petals. Then glued my chipboard dragonfly towards the bottom of my page. I chose a sentiment piece from the ephemera pack, curled both ends of my sentiment piece using a bone folder. This adds some lift and dimension. To finish my cover, I stamped a sentiment using black ink onto my tab.

20220721_115535

Page 1: I cut out three 3x4 Journaling cards from the 12x12 paper and scored 1/2 inch at the top. Then adhered as a waterfall on my page. I added a piece of lace at the top of my waterfall cards.

Page 2: I took some cream cardstock and cut to measure 3 & 1/2 x 5 inches and adhered as a photo mat. I cut out a tag sentiment and glued towards the top. I added a gem over the hole on my tag. I took one of the fairies from the ephemera pack and adhered at the bottom of my photo mat, using foam dots. I stamped some images on each of the tabs.

20220721_180806

Page 3: I just added a gem over the hole on the tag.

Page 4: I created a pocket page. The pocket measures 5x 3 &1/2 inches. Don't forget to punch a hole on the left side before gluing! I tucked a few small Journaling cards from the journal pack, into my pocket. I adhered a Dream sentiment at the bottom of my pocket using foam dots. Then taking one of your border pieces from the 12x12 papers, cut and glue at the top of your page. On the left tab, I cut a sentiment phase from one of my papers and glued onto my tab. For the right tab, I stamped a few images of Stars, and Butterflies.

20220721_180838

Page 5: I took another sentiment from the ephemera pack and glued towards the top of my page. I couldn't bear to cover this pretty paper so I left it blank!

Page 6: For the last page, I adhered another photo mat in the center. I tore an image from one of my Scrap papers, inked along the edges and glued along the top of my page. Using foam dots, I adhered acouple lantern pieces from the ephemera pack. Then using more foam dots I adhered another fairy at the bottom of my page.

To finish this album,  I tied and knotted acouple charms on a piece of thread, and glued behind the sentiment on my cover. Then I tied some ribbons and gold tulle through each hole of the album and tied into a bow! Inside on several fairy images I applied some glitter on their dresses, using a clear Sparkle pen.

Advent Countdown Kit

Hello friends and happy Monday!  Christmas may be a few months away but its not too early to start thinking about creating your own DIY home decor or even fun gifts to give!  Especially if you have little ones in your family that love to countdown the days until Christmas Day!  The Advent Countdown Kit is a new release from Clear Scraps which can be decorated as you like. And with wood and chipboard elements you can use a variety of mediums such as paint, paper, stamping, etc.

Your kit includes everything seen here with 12 wood cards, frame, and hinge.  You also receive chipboard numbers, script words, as well as holly and berry embellishments.

Also included in your kit are two dowels to hang your numbers onto your frame.  Here are two of my decorated wood cards which I  covered in patterned paper.  I added smaller embellishments followed by the chipboard numbers which I painted with black acrylic paint.

I painted the background of the base with off-white chalk paint. I allowed areas of the wood to show through to give a distressed look to my kit. I then used the same black acrylic paint that I used on the numbers to paint my frame which fits over the top of the base.  I found using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive worked well but you can also use a hot glue gun.    I then painted my "days until" and "Christmas" chipboard pieces in green and red chalk paint again using my Beacon Adhesive to adhere.

For my holly and berry embellishment, I used the same red and green chalk paint.  Once dry, I  wanted to add a little more sparkle.  So, I daubed embossing ink onto each piece followed by using red and green embossing powder and set with my heat tool.  The berry piece adheres on top of the holly to give extra dimension (again using my Beacon Adhesive).  I adhered the entire piece to the upper left corner using Beacon 3-in-1.

Here is a small snapshot of a few of my decorated cards!  Like I  mentioned, you can embellish your cards/chipboard as you like!    This project was so fun to create!

Friends Desktop Frame

Hi friends,

It's Sandy Diller here with a fun little project that will create a memory that you can enjoy for a long time to come.   I used the Friends Desktop Frame to make my memory.

Simply add the photo of choice.

I began by painting the word "Friends" with acrylic paint.

After choosing the paper and design I liked I added the paper to the frame and base using double sided adhesive.

I did a little fussy cutting on the birds so I could add them to the frame.

Thanks for stopping by,
Sandy

What Cool Stuff is Made Of

Hey!! Tmika here - a brand spanking new design team member!! I am so excited to share with you my crafts and humor (sort of). For my first project, I decided to go with the Mixed Up 3x8 Chip Album.  This 6 page album is perfect for those little snaps we all love to take!I wanted to use bright & lively paints and colors. This fit so many of my summer pictures.

I started out by choosing my paper and paints. I chose Vicki Boutin's Sweet Rush mainly because of the bright colors!

I choose matching paints and inks to coordinate. A little tip... if you don't have the color to match in paint, then add some ink to some white paint. Voila!

CC

I painted the perimeter of the album fronts and backs to match the papers I choose. Then I punched a hole with my Crop-O-dile and added hole reinforcers. Then I added gold
stitching.

I grabbed stickers and die cuts to embellish the cover of my album. I added cardstock to the back to make it more sturdier. I made one of the die cuts into a shaker by stitching directly on folded acetate. I added stitching to the diecuts.

Here is how I decorated the album cover.

I printed my pictures out and resized them to 2.5 rounded square. I used my Silhouette software and Canon printer to do this. I ran the photos through my Xyron Sticker Maker to make my job a bit easier.

I took the rest of the sticker sheet and die cuts to embellish the inside of the album. Added some gold gems for pizzaz. I also added some writing to the photos. I finished the mini album off with some coordinating ribbons and I called it finished!!

Here are some shots of the inside of the album and my beautiful family.  They are "What Cool Stuff is Made Of". 💕
