Life Is Good Shiplap Square

Hola!

Thanks for dropping in on the Clear Scraps Blog today! Tami here with you with a project to share.

Have you taken a gander at the new additions to Clear Scraps' Shiplap Line? You can view all of them along with other brand spanking NeW products here: What's New

I used the Small Shiplap Square to create this bright and cheery little sign...

I started by adhering a chipboard butterfly from the Fancy Butterflies Chipboard Embellishment to a portion of a rainbow colored napkin. Once it was adhered I trimmed off the excess...

After I got this far, I realized I SHOULD have done this next step first! Fortunately, since I was rubbing on a metallic paste, I was able to color the chipboard without getting any on the napkin. I added a pearl color to the butterfly, then used a gunmetal on the Life Is Good Chipboard Embellishment...

I wanted a variegated monotone on the Shiplap Square, so I used Oxide Ink all over the surface...

I lightly spritzed the ink with water and blotted it gently in spots with a paper towel. When I was happy with the color, I heat set the wood...

When the wood was dry, I adhered the pieces...

You could use this small sign to decorate a desk or small space and it would also make a nice little gift!
