Howdy!
Tami here on the Clear Scraps Blog today.
I hope you are enjoying some lovely Spring weather where you live. The days have been REALLY pretty lately, lots of sunshine, blue skies and gentle breezes here in Texas.
The nice weather gets me thinking it's time to do some Spring planting! And not only in my flower pots, how about in some Springtime crafting?
Clear Scraps has some really great stencil designs and one of them is the 6" Flower Pots Stencil...
I had recently purchased several blank canvas bags and I thought this stencil would be a great way to dress one of them up a bit.
Take a peek at my finished bag...
I started by applying 2 different colors of Fabric Ink to each flower - adding some shading around the outside with the darker color. Then I used green for the stems and brown with a bit of orange for highlights on the pots. I then heat set the inks - follow the directions for your specific type. I decided to loosely outline the designs with a fine tip black permanent pen. I had some green felt leaves so I adhered them to the stems. You could also cut some out yourself. As a finishing touch I adhered buttons tied with twine to the centers of the flowers.
Dressed up canvas bags would make nice inexpensive party or wedding favors. Or make a set for yourself to to use when you travel.
Thank you for visiting the Clear Scraps Blog today, please come back soon!
