Hi Crafty Friends!
It's Dana and I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to share another 3D Frameable home decor project. Have you seen all the different types of 3D Frameables available from Clear Scraps? If not, I encourage you to check them out.
For today's project I'll be using Clear Scraps Base and Scallop Frame Click Here and we will also be using Clear Scraps Family words and heart shape Click Here
These are such fun to decorate and they make a great gift too.
To begin, remove both bases from your package. I chose two coordinating papers to cover both bases. The papers I chose are from Simple Stories. But any papers in your stash will work. Trace around your wood base with a pencil, and cut out with your scissors. Glue your paper to the base. I recommend using a strong permanent glue like Beacon 3 in 1. Trim around the edges and using a distress tool, smooth out any rough edges. Make sure you cut out all 3 slots and use your distress tool as you previously did. Then glue your bases together making sure your slots are lined up evenly. Let dry.
Next take your top scalloped frame piece and trace onto another patterned paper. Glue your paper to the front of your frame. Trim away all excess paper and distress around all edges as you did for your bases previously above. I fussy cut out the scrabble letters We Are from one of the journaling cards. Then adhered along the top of my frame with pop dots. I also adhered a heart sticker at the bottom right of my frame. Then glue your frame to your frame base.
For my Family wood words piece, I painted the letters with some yellow acrylic paint. After it dries, I inked around the edges using my Distress ink. Then I adhered a chipboard red heart to the bottom letters.
For my heart shape I covered mine with a bright hearts coordinating paper. I traced, trimmed and distressed the edges as we did before.
I used pop dots to apply my love sticker in the middle of my heart shape and added some pom pom trim around the edge of my heart!
Now slide your 3 pieces into the 3 slots on your base and you're done! Now you have a great home decor piece to enjoy year after year.
Hope you enjoyed this project today and you are inspired to create your very own 3D Frameables!
