Snow Slimline Wood Mini Album

Hola!

Tami here on the Clear Scraps blog with you today.

Do you get snow where you live? Here in Texas - especially here in South Texas - snow is a rarity. Last year was certainly an anomaly! We not only got snow, we KEPT getting snow and the snow stayed around for days! i have lived here my whole life and although I remember a few other snows, this one was something else!

I wanted to make a special mini album to document this event, so I selected Clear Scraps' Slimline Wood Tab Mini Album as my base...

Clear_scraps_slimline_wood_mini_album_winter_snowflakes_stencil_tsanders+cover

I started by using color washes made from acrylic paint mixed with water to paint all the pages. I used a mix of blues and created ombre patterns on each.

For the front cover, I used a silver stencil paste and Clear Scraps' 6" Nordic Snowflakes to add a raised shimmery design at the top of the album cover. Once it was dry, I added some printed paper and my title using letters in chipboard and stickers.

Clear_scraps_slimline_wood_mini_album_winter_snowflakes_stencil_tsanders_6

I used white pigment ink to stencil snowflakes on all the pages as well...

Once all my pages were ready, it was time to decide what photos to use and what I wanted to journal. Here are pics of all the pages of my album..

Clear Scraps' Slimline albums come in chipboard, acrylic and wood. There are also several styles of each type. The large, tall size is great for vacations, holidays, birthdays, etc.

Framed Friends!

Hi everybody! Leslie here, sharing an embellished frame of treasured memories created with the Friends XL Wood Frame. This piece is huge and wonderful! It was definitely a fun project - from picking out the three photos I wanted to use, to the actual creation with pretty papers and flowers and the assembly! Brought back so many memories!

2021_12_29_07

I started by tracing each letter backwards on the back side of the patterned papers and fussy cutting each one. I did the same with the three frames at the bottom using solid colors of cardstock.

2021_12_29_01

I adhered acetate to the back of the three frames to keep the photos clean and dust-free (which unfortunately casts weird shadows on the photos so I apologize for that).

2021_12_29_02

I adhered the fussy-cut patterned paper letters and cardstock frames, and heavily distressed the edges.

I added paper flowers and die cut greenery, and a couple bamboo cord bows.

And then added a few gemstones to the frames to complete the project.

Hearth and Home Family/recipe Album

Hi Craft Friends!

I'm Dana and I'm happy to share some album inspiration with you. I think preserving family memories and maybe a favorite family recipe or two are so important and something you will cherish forever and pass on to the next generation. Clear Scraps has a variety of different albums to chose from. For today's project I'll be using Clear Scraps 8x8 tab Chipboard Album

20211215_180747

The first step I did was to paint a 1 inch border around all edges of each chipboard album page, using a vintage white acrylic paint. Let dry.

20211215_183643

Next I cut all my base papers to measure 7x7 and adhered to each of my album pages, including the front and back covers. I recommend using a strong and permanent glue, like Beacon 3 in 1 glue. The papers I used are Simple Stories Hearth and Home paper collection.

20211216_131818

To decorate the front cover, I chose one of the 4x6 journaling cards and placed in the center of the front cover with foam dots. This adds dimension. I adhered 2 house puffy stickers over the 2 matching home images on my journaling card. Adhered the foam sentiment "gather" at the top right corner. Added acouple sticker hearts and a metal brad sticker to my journaling card image. Using pop dots, I adhered a sticker flower to the upper left corner on my cover page. Adhered 3 sticker sentiments at the upper right corner.

Page 1: (inside cover) I cut out one of the tags and scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered to the top left of my page. Then added a metal brad at the top of my tag. You could add a photo or family memory card if you like to this page.

Page 2: I made a pocket page measuring 6x4 inches. Added a border punch edge at the top of my pocket before adhering. Tucked a recipe card aling wirh acouple journaling cards inside my pocket. I adhered a sticker sentiment to the tab on the right.

Page 3: I cut out 5 journaling cards and scored 1/2 inch at the top and waterfall adhered these to my page. Adhered a flag sentiment at the top left of my page.

Page 4: using another journaling card, I scored 1/2 inch at the top and adhered as a flip up page. Underneath I added a photo mat measuring 3 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/2 inches, and adhered this to my page. Added a cute birdie sticker at the bottom left of my photo mat. On the front of  my flip page, I glued acouple chipboard stickers over the matching images and added a sentiment sticker Rise and Shine at the top right. To finish off this page I adhered a few enamel dots at the bottom of my page and acouple sticker sentiments on both tabs.

Page 5: I cut out one of the recipe cards, scored a 1/2 inch at the top. Then adhered at the top of the page. Added 5 foam sticker hearts across the top of my recipe card. You could add a photo underneath the recipe card if you like. At the bottom I adhered some ephermera pieces using foam dots and a few stickers.

Page 6: Added a simple photo mat measuring 5 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/2 inches centered onto my page. I added a chipboard sticker "Home" at the top of my photo mat. Adhered a foam sticker sentiment and a few metal beads at the bottom. On both tabs I adhered sticker sentiments.

20211219_105705

Page 7: I cut out another journaling card image, scored 1/4inch on the left side and adhered this along the left edge of my page. I added a few sticker sentiments stickers at the top of my flip card. And sticker sentiment on the tab area.

Page 8: Adhered a photo mat measuring 4 & 1/2 x 5 inches and adhered to the center of the page. Added some sticker sentiments, bench sticker and a photo.

Winter-Snowflake 3D Frameable

Hello and happy Monday! It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share one of the cute 3D Frameables with you! It's officially winter here in the Central US and that means creating fun memories!  I have a favorite photo of my son and husband making a snowman that fits perfectly with the Winter-Snowflake Word N Shape and Square Frame with Base

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable

I began by using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to adhere patterned paper to my Square Frame.  I trimmed away excess paper using scissors and my x-acto knife.  I then used my sanding tool to smooth the edges between the paper and wood.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable2

I also used Beacon to affix patterned paper to the smaller oval of the base and again using my sanding tool and x-acto knife.  I added white acrylic paint around my edges to give it a snowy look.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable3

I used the same white acrylic paint to color the large oval of my base.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable4

Once my paint was dry, I secured the 6 Inch Ice Crystal Snowflakes Mascil to the top with washi tape. I blended Distress Oxide Ink in Speckled Egg to the surface.

Here is the end result of the oxide ink + Mascil!

I then adhered the ovals together using my Beacon Adhesive. It's helpful to use clips to secure the two pieces together as the glue dries.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable7

I again used my Beacon to adhere the Square Frame to the base as shown.  The small lip of wood showing is what will be inserted into the base.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable8

For the Winter-Snowflake Word N Shape, I painted both pieces with white acrylic paint.

On the Winter word, I again used the 6 Inch Ice Crystal Snowflakes Mascil with two shades of blue Distress Oxide.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable10

Here is a close up of the Winter. I added iridescent baubles and a sentiment sticker to accent.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_Snowflake_3DFrameable11

For the Snowflake, I added embellishments from the collection I used followed by coloring the edges with Distress Oxide in Faded Jeans.

Here is a close up of the frame; I affixed smaller embellishments to allow the photo the be the focus.
