Clear Scraps Scallop Slimline Album--Hello Winter Home Decor
January 20, 2022
Hi there friends! Laura here to share some inspiration
with you today! Are you a fan of winter? I'm generally not,
but it sure can be pretty at times! And hey, any season that
gives me an excuse to craft cute home decor projects, well,
I'm all in! I've got an "out of the box" project today!
This looks like it might be a 12x12 scrapbook page. But it is
indeed a home decor item that you could put on an easel to
display, or add a ribbon to and hang up on your wall.
It starts with the Clear Scraps Chip Scallop Slimline Album.
Yep, a mini album turned into a home decor project!
This pic shows the way I planned out the start.
This is how the pieces would look once overlapped.
I found the easiest way to decorate was to do one section
at a time, rather than gluing everything together first.
The base is a 12x12 piece of chipboard with a sheet of
kraft cardstock glued to it and inked. After the first piece
of the album was decorated with paper and embellishments,
it was glued to the base. Then I did the same with the other
2 pieces--but left the top edge unglued to create pockets.
For embellishments along the bottom panel, I used some
Clear Scraps goodies that were the perfect addition!
This little cutie is the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Snowman.
He's filled with a mixture of the Clear Scraps sequins from
the Winter (I pulled out red) and the Fall sequin mixes.
The scarf was made by using a couple of small scraps of
paper and cutting little fringe detail. Another addition is
the Clear Scraps Word and Shape Winter Snowflake set.
These sets match the 3D Frameables from Clear Scraps,
but they also make great embellishments! I painted
with acrylic paint, then added glitter for a little sparkle!
I created tags to slip in between the layers to add
pictures or journal memories. The mini clothespins
mean you can update the pictures yearly.
Thanks so much for stopping by today!
