The Most Wonderful Time of the Year 3D Framables

Hi Crafty Friends!

Dana here! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to hopefully inspire you with a fun Christmas Home Decor project using Clear Scraps 3D Frameables! They are so easy and fun to create. For today's project I'm using the base and Deco frame Click Here plus Christmas word and tree shape. Click Here

Christmas is just around the corner, but you still have plenty of time to make those special gifts or decor items to decorate your home.

To start off, remove your two base pieces from your package. You can paint your bases using acrylic paints or trace onto any craft papers you have on hand, then cut them out. I chose to cover both bases 2 different coordinating papers from Carta Bella A Very Merry Christmas collection. I wanted to give my 3D Frameables a more vintage look. But any papers will do!

I trimmed all along the edges of both bases using my x-acto knife. Then distressed edges till smooth. I prefer using Clear Scraps sanding tools Click Here  Make sure to sand in between each of the slits on top of both bases till smooth and clear of any excess paper. Then glue both bases together using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. Set aside to dry.

Next remove your wood and shape pieces from your package. I painted my Christmas tree with green acrylic paint. For the base of the tree I used brown acrylic paint. For my Christmas words I painted them using red acrylic paint. You can add glitter or stamp these if you like. Set these aside to dry.

Now take your frame and another coordinating paper. Trace around your image using your pencil. Then cut, trim around edges with your x-acto knife. Then smooth around the edges of your frame using your sanding tool. You can now add a photo or one of the journaling cards to the back of your frame with glue. Now glue your top frame to the base frame piece, making sure to line up the top edges.

Now the fun part left to do is decorating your frame and shapes! I glued some green tinsel around my frame edge. Adhered a puffy sticker string of lights at the top of the inside frame. Then added a ephermera 25 and sentiment piece on each side of my frame.

I adhered a Christmas wreath from my stash to the top of my Christmas wood word. And added some enamel colored dots to my Christmas tree to resemble ornaments and a sequin Star at the top of my tree! To finish my project I glued puffy sticker present at the bottom of my tree, along with a ephermera girl image to the left side of my tree. Added some glitter to my Santa fur and beard.
