Clear Scraps Mini Shaker--Holiday Joy LO

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today sharing a LO idea for

your holiday or winter photos!

Clear_Scraps_Mini Shaker_Holiday Joy LO(1)

One of the easiest types of LO's is just setting up a grid.  They can

fill the entire page, or just trickle across the page like this one does.

I used some patterned paper that had frames with images and

started cutting them apart and arranging them.  Or you could do the

same by framing images, or more pictures in white.  It's important

to have a strong focus with a LO like this, and one of the best ways

to do that is with your title.  The colors in this paper were so bright

and fun, that I decided to follow suit and embrace that by carrying

that through with the title.  Here's where the awesome pieces from

Clear Scraps come in!  You can customize them to any color,

to match any papers or embellishments you'd like!

Clear_Scraps_Mini Shaker_Holiday Joy LO copy 2

The cute Joy Mini Shaker from Clear Scraps packs a cute punch!

It's painted with bright green and pink acrylic paint, and the shaker

part, I chose to make it look like a little snow globe.  Super simple,

with some snow patterned paper and a little snowman sticker.

Some bling crystals inside the shaker and a few rhinestones on the

letters give it a sparkly finish.  To see all of the options available,

stop by the Clear Scraps store to check them all out HERE.

The word "holiday" is one of the Clear Scraps Chipboard Script Word

Titles, painted with bright pink acrylic paint to match just as the Joy

mini shaker was.  I love the ability to coordinate everything so easily!

Make sure to check these out in the Clear Scraps store!  The word

"holiday" is HERE.  Find all the choices right HERE

Good Cheer Christmas Chipboard Tag Album

Hi everybody! Leslie here, sharing one last Christmas project this year that features our Chipboard Tag Album with plenty of room for documenting those Christmas memories! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas - it's so hard to believe that it has come and gone! The real truth is that it'll be here again before we know it! You'll be seeing more Christmas projects from me in the upcoming months because Christmas is my favorite holiday and I create holiday cards and projects all year long!

2021_12_14_17

This was an easy and super fun project! I covered the front and back sides of the four tags with Christmas papers, inked the edges and embellished each side with coordinating papers and images. There are pockets with pull-out cards and tags, as well as folders that open outward and upward... lots of open space for photos and journaling.

Winter XL Wood Gnome

Hello craft friends!  It's Jennifer here on the blog today to share a project with you all about winter! Truth be told, I like to scrapbook about winter much more winter itself.  Living in the Midwest, there isn't much to do outdoors in the cold and snow!  I'm more of a warm weather and sunshine girl!

The XL Wood Gnome 2 is perfect for dressing up for just about any theme or holiday!  I used a bright winter theme for my Gnome to decorate the area next to our fireplace!

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome

Using chalk paint in a light blue, I painted the hands and nose of the Gnome and set aside to dry.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome2

I also used the same color of paint to color the feet of my gnome as shown. I did not worry about my lines being perfect as I knew I would be covering part of the body with patterned paper.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome3

While my paint dries, I used my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the front of my hat and to the body of the gnome.  I used my x-acto knife and sanding tool to smooth any excess paper away.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome4

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome5

I  used the Wood Holiday Collection 3 Pack to have pieces to switch out on the front of the Gnome.  I painted the front of the Snowflake with chalk paint in the same light blue chalk paint.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome6

I then added embossing ink around the edges followed by a blue metallic embossing powder.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome7

Here is the end result of the Snowflake. I added embellishments from the collection I used and affixed it to the Gnome with velcro for easy removal.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome8

I  covered the Tree using patterned paper and my Beacon Adhesive.  I then added a light coat of white acrylic paint the edges followed by using circular embellishments.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome9

Last is an ornament which I layered with washi tape.  I used my sanding tool to smooth excess off the edges followed by adding paint in light blue around the edges.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Winter_Gnome10

I covered the two oval bases with patterned paper and affixed them together with my hot glue gun. I did add a little extra glue to the slots where the feet insert for sturdiness.

Clear_Scraps_Winter_XL_Gnome11

On the hat, I added pink and black ribbon as well as embellishments to the brim for accent.

Christmas Joy Slimline Album

Hello Crafters!

I'm Dana and I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog!  Christmas is approaching fast. If you are looking for some Christmas gift ideas, I'm here to hopefully inspire you with how to create a Slimline style album using Clear Scraps Chipboard Scalloped Slimline album. Click Here and also using Clear Scraps Chipboard Star bulbs Click Here

20211113_073300

To start this project, we will be covering all our base pages including the front cover and back with paper. All papers will measure 5x11 inches. I'm using Mintay's Merry and Bright collection. But any Christmas papers you have in your stash will work. I recommend using a strong permanent glue like Beacon 3-1 glue. Paint all tabs with cream acrylic paint.

20211113_091210

Next cut apart one of your Clear Scraps Chipboard star bulbs from the pack. We will only be using one of the star bulbs for this project. You can save the other bulb for a future project. Using acrylic paint in gold metallic, apply paint on the hanging string and top of your star bulb. Then apply glue to the bow and sprinkle gold glitter on top. Shake off any excess glitter. Apply glue to the ornament bulb and sprinkle with green glitter. Shake off access glitter. Set aside to dry.

20211113_091557

Next I fussycut the mistletoe image from the ephermera sheet. Ink edges and apply foam dots to the back. Glue this piece on top of duplicate image on your front cover. Then take and add foam dots to the back of your chipboard Star bulb and adhere on the front of your album. Then apply some sticker sentiments onto front tabs. To finish the front cover, I added acouple sentiment chipboard stickers on the top and bottom of my cover.

20211113_142019

Here's a close-up:

20211113_132124

Page 1: I made a pocket page, cut at 5x 4 & 1/2 inches, punched my bottom hole before adhering. Using a border punch,  I added a gold metallic border to the top edge of my pocket. I fussy cut out a pointsetta image from leftover scrap paper and adhered to top left side of my page, using foam dots. Applied some Stickles glitter to leaves and stamens. Tucked a journaling card inside my pocket. Added a sentiment chipboard sticker in the middle of my pocket.

Page 2: Adhered a cream cardstock photo mat measuring 4 x 6 and adhered to the center of my page. Added a chipboard sticker flag to top of my photo mat. Sentiment sticker to the bottom of my photo mat. Then glued acouple small flowers on each side of my sentiment. Add a sticker border along the edge.

20211114_121031

Page 3 & 4 :

I couldn't bear to cover up these pretty papers so I left these pretty basic. I fussy cut one of the cute elves and adhered to the top left page using foam dots. Then glued a small pom pom to the top of his hat. Applied Stickles glitter to his collar and fur on his hat. I fussy cut a blue bulb ornament and using foam dots adhered this on top of the duplicate image on the left side of page 3. Add border stickers on each sides.

20211114_121136

Pages 4: I cut a scrap paper measuring 4 x 8 1/2 inches, score 1/2 inch at the right side and adhere at the right side as a flip page. Inside I added a photo mat 3 x 5 1/2 inches and adhered to the center of my page. Then added acouple stickers, one on the inside flap of my flip page and one on top of my photo mat. I glued another small pom pom to the little elves hat!

Page 6: I cut another photo mat measuring 3 & 1/2 x 4 inches and adhered to the center of my page. I added a flag sentiment sticker at top left side of my photo mat. Adhered 2 other sentiment chipboard stickers to the upper right corner of my page. Fussy cut a ornament image from the ephermera sheet and applied at the bottom of my page. Fussy cut the snowflake cookie and adhered on top of my ornament image eith foam dots. Glued a silver gem in the middle of my snowflake! Adhered border stickers along each edge of both pages.

20211114_122037

20211114_123002

Pages 7: I didn't want to cover up this cute paper lol  so all I did was add a sentiment chipboard sticker at the top of my page.

Page 8: I took 5 journaling cards and scored 1/2 inch at the top.  For the Santa journaling card,  I  stapled a ticket onto my card before adhering to my page. Then adhered them all as a waterfall onto my page. Added a sentiment flap sticker on the top right of my page. Added some Stickles glitter to my Santa fur and beard!

20211114_122305

To finish this album, I tied some red sparkle tulle, gold and green mesh ribbon through the holes of my album. I hope you have been inspired today and will create a treasured album to enjoy for years to come!

Noel Altered Tag

Happy Christmas Eve!

Tami here on the blog with you today with a holiday project to show you.

I really like Clear Scraps Door Chipboard Embellishment. I could just picture a Christmas wreath hanging on it.

That was the starting point of this altered tag...

Clear_scraps_christmas_tag_altered_chipbaord_embellishment_door_tami_sanders_wm

I used one of the chipboard tags from the Chipboard Tag Album as a base. I painted it with a layer of white crackle paste. You can speed up the dry time with a heat gun or just let it air dry. Once the crackle paint was dry, I added a layer of glitter paint around the edges...

I painted the door red and the Noel Chipboard Word Title gold. I distressed the tag, door and word with brown chalk ink...

I used a piece of silver foil paper to back the upper portion of the door. I used a pouncing brush with white paint to make it look frosty. Then I adhered the foil into the top portion of the door...

I cut a small piece of printed paper to use for the bottom of the door. You could also remove this piece and back it like I did on the top. I adhered the paper, then used the pouncing brush again to add snow to the door...

I adhered a small wreath to the upper portion of the door, adhered the door to the tag using foam tape, then added Noel towards the bottom...

I finished the tag by adding holly around the top of the door, tying a gold ribbon in the hole and then using a dress pin to attach a tiny jingle bell...

Happy New Year Wine Bottle Tag

Welcome back, everyone!  I'm Maureen and I'm sharing a project that will get you ready for any of those end of the year New Years parties!  It's fun to have a hostess gift if you plan on attending any events this season, and this idea assembles in just minutes.  I always need a hostess idea - and a great bottle of wine or champagne, decorated up with a handmade tag is such a welcome gift!

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years3

I've chosen the Mini Wine Glass Chipboard Shaker as the focal point for this tag.  It's such a fun embellishment and would look great on a tag, gift bag or card!

My first step was to cut out a shimmery black card stock tag at a 4" by 11" size, then cut out a 2.5" circle at the top with a die cut.  I've created a scored fold line underneath the circle to give the tag a better way to lay flat.

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years8

From here, I'm using the 6" Bubbles Stencil on the tag, and a white ink and sponge.  Take the sponge and dab through the stencil in spots you want to have bubbles show through.

Next, I've prepared the wine glass shaker by tracing the shape on both a sparkly black paper as well as a polka dot paper for the inside of the shaker.  Once I cut these out, I've glued them to the top layer and the inside of the shape.

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years2

I decided to go back over the edges of the shape with a black marker so the chipboard edges would match the rest of the tag.  I also added some Wedding Sequins in the middle of my shape along with some number pieces I had from a previous project.  Then, I glued the acrylic piece down and the top layer over it.

To give the festive look of a countdown, I've cut numbers from a die cut set and placed them in cascading order down the side of the tag.  These are cut with a silver sparkle card stock.

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years5

I added the "cheers" phrase to the front of the wine glass as well, and it really pulls all the other colors together!

At the bottom of the tag, I've attached the Mini Wine Glass shaker with a tacky glue.  The specific card stock I chose is of a heavier weight and handles the chipboard element beautifully.

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years7You can add a bit more bling by adding some sparkle glue accents to the edges of the bubbles and letters on the tag.  Now all you need is a bottle of wine or sparkling cider to hang it on!  Your hosts will enjoy a special handmade gift from you.  I invite you to check out the selection of shakers available on the Clear Scraps site for last minute gifts like this!

Clear_Scraps_Wine_Shaker_New_Years6

I hope you enjoy the upcoming end of year festivities and I'm wishing you all an amazing 2022.  See you next year!

Clear Scraps Medium DIY Pallet--I Still Believe

Hi there friends!  Laura is here with you today to share a little Christmas Spirit home

decor!  I grabbed one of the ever so awesome Clear Scrap's Medium DIY Square Pallets

and got creating!

Clear_Scraps_DIY Medium Pallet_I Still Believe(2)

It's a bright, colorful festive project that's easy to do!  To start, the edges of the pallet

were brushed with some bright green acrylic paint.  The the patterned paper was cut

to fit and glued down (I did brush a little distress ink on the edges first!).  If you want,

you can always just paint the entire thing too.  Then it was time to decorate it up!

My theme was believing in Santa, and Clear Scraps to the rescue!  Their Mini Shakers

are hard to beat!  The Mini Shaker Sled is the perfect version of Santa's own!

Clear_Scraps_DIY Medium Pallet_I Still Believe close up 1(1)

The frame was painted with black paint since it was a background piece but I still wanted

it to "pop" to show the outline of the sleigh.  The back of the sled shaker was traced onto a

piece of peppermint stripe patterned paper.  It was glued all together after I added some

pretty, festive, sparkle using the Clear Scraps Holiday Sequins.   The word "Believe" is one

of the many Chipboard Script Word Titles available in the Clear Scraps store.  These are

seriously one of my very favorite things Clear Scraps makes!  The are a great addition to

home decor projects like this, to cards, to layouts.  Really a lot of ways to get creative with

them too!  I painted the "Believe" with acrylic paint and then layered on some glitter glue

for just a touch of sparkle.  You can ink, or stamp on, or spray mist or even emboss to your

hearts content on these pieces!  Make sure to check them all out HERE.

Clear_Scraps_DIY Medium Pallet_I Still Believe close up 2(1)

Just a few more stickers, a journal card I fussy cut and a little twine and of course some

adorable little jingle bells and a touch of bling to finish it off just right!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Printer Tray Frame Turned Into A Shadowbox!

Hi everybody! Leslie here, sharing a fun vintage Christmas shadowbox created from our Small Rectangle Printer Tray Frame! I added several strips of double-sided adhesive foam tape between each of the chipboard layers so the compartments were deep enough to accommodate the vintage Christmas elements. I bought all of these fun vintage items (wreath, mistletoe, wood ski and pole, Christmas lights, scarf and hat, shovel, and snowflake) several years ago along with a different kind of shadowbox, and the shadowbox turned out to be too small, so everything just sat in my stash... until now!

2021_12_05_004

Using one of the chipboard layers as a template, I adhered different colors and patterns of vintage Christmas paper, a couple vintage photos and a piece of ephemera to the chipboard back, to be seen through the apertures from each compartment. I then separated the compartments by adding several strips of foam tape down and across the interior sections and around the outside edges, added a chipboard layer, and then added several more foam tape strips to the interior sections and around the outside edges. I repeated the process with the second chipboard layer and more foam tape strips.

I adhered strips of gray cardstock around the inside perimeter of each compartment for a clean finished look, and then adhered the vintage Christmas elements into the compartments with a hot glue gun, adding sequins and seed beads to the two compartments containing the vintage photos. I adhered the acrylic divider to the front after removing the protective film from the underside, and then turned my attention to the third chipboard layer.

I cut a frame for each aperture on the third chipboard layer so that about 1/8" of gray cardstock shows around the opening and adhered them to the back side of the chipboard layer, and then adhered it to the front after removing the protective film from the front side of the acrylic divider. I adhered strips of gray cardstock around the outside edge to conceal the foam tape strips, chipboard layers and acrylic divider. To finish the shadowbox, I adhered a rosette to the front that I created from patterned paper and embellished with die cut numbers. Here are close-ups of each compartment:

Christmas Acrylic Deco Slimline Album

Hello friends! The Christmas countdown is on with only a week left to go! Do you have your shopping finished? I am so behind this year but its ok as it will all get done.  Today, I'm sharing a Christmas themed mini using the    Acrylic Deco Slimline Album!  At first, I had planned to create a Christmas countdown/December Daily album but decided against it.  I thought I would have an album to add photos and journaling to at a later date.

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline

I left the front cover of the album "bare" but did add the new Scallop Rectangle Mini Shaker Shape! Not only did I fill the center with sequins, but inserted die cuts and stickers as well! You can also see the Fancy Chipboard Borders that I painted with white acrylic paint and adhered using my Beacon 3 in 1 Adhesive.

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline2

Each page measures 5.5 x 11 so I cut my background pages to 4.5 x 10.5 inches. This gave enough room for the deco tabs to not be covered by patterned paper.  I then added spaces for journaling and or photos.

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline3

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline4

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline5

Here, I utilized one of the longer list cards of the collection I used to create a page about things I love about Christmas!

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline6

For my mini albums, I always love inserting something different for a page such as a pocket or flap. Here, I used paper to sew a pocket to store photos and tags for journaling.

Clear_Scraps_Acrylic_Deco_Slimline7

Most of my photos I mat with white cardstock and plan them to be 4x4 or 4x5. I also usually will layer extra patterns under my photo mat as well along with embellishments.

Sweet Tidings Wall Hanging

Hi Craft Friends!

I'm Dana and I'm here to share a home decor project just in time for the holidays. I love creating Home Decor projects. Don't you? Clear Scraps has so many wooden shapes and pallets that are perfect to decorate and match any holiday or season!

For my project today, we will be using Clear Scraps Wood Stars 3 pack Click Here

20211107_143950

and one of the new Clear Scraps mini shakers-scallop rectangle Click Here

20211108_183553

To begin our project, remove one of the wooden stars from your package. You can save the other two stars, for future projects. I began by tracing around my star shape with a pencil onto a patterned paper. I chose Frank Garcia's Sweet Peppermint collection. But any festive paper in your stash will work. I cut out my shape and glued my paper onto my star wood base using Beacon 3-1 glue. Then trimmed off any excess paper using my x-acto knife. I took my sanding tool Click Here  and smoothed around all the edges.

20211107_145616

Next I added some tacky glue all around the edges of my star shape, then sprinkled some red chunky glitter along the edges. It's a bit messy,  but I love the sparkle look! Set aside to dry.

20211108_144154

While that's drying, we can work on our shaker! Remove your top shaker piece from the package. I traced around shaker with my pencil onto another coordinating paper. But you can also paint, or add glitter onto your shaker frame, if you prefer. Then cut out and glue your paper onto the top shaker piece. Then I trimmed and distressed along the edges, as we did previously with our wood star shape. Now take the bottom shaker piece from your package. And add a photo or one of the cute journaling cards and glue in the center of my bottom piece. Then take your next two chipboard shaker pieces and glue on top of the bottom piece. You can now add whatever shaker filler you like. I'm using these pretty Clear Scraps Holiday sequins to fill my shaker. Click Here

Then peel off the protective film on both sides of your acrylic piece, before gluing on top of your previous layer. Lastly add your top shaker piece in place. Set aside to dry. Do not shake or else your sequins will stick to the sides.

20211109_121127

To finish off my shaker, I added some crystal gems on the front to add some sparkle! Then glue your shaker to the center of your star.

Now we are ready to decorate our piece. I added a variety of embellishments from this collection. I cut out two different sentiments and inked the edges with distress ink. Added some foam dots to the back of my sentiments. Then adhered one above my frame and the other on the right side of my star. On the right side of my star, I stapled a ticket stub and adhered with glue. Then added this cute little bird chipboard sticker. I also glued a flower at the top of my star point. On the bottom I added a snowflake sticker and mitten chipboard.

To finish my piece, I tied 2 knots at the end of my piece of tulle and hot glued them to the back of my star. Now it's ready to display!

Christmas Elf Chipboard Album

Cheers to December, Clear Scraps friends!  It's Maureen here with you today, sharing a fun way to document all those Christmas photos.  I have so many pictures of my kids over the years to document.  Because of this, I needed some place to display them.  And, with all the creative ideas people share about an Elf on a Shelf, I thought this project would be a perfect item to share with YOU this season!

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album6

I've chosen the 8x8" Chipboard Tabbed Album for this project.  This is a perfect size for specific themes, like documenting parties, baking and decorating, or even special shows or pageants over the years.  I knew right away I wanted it to look like an elf's body dressed up in these various events, so I set out to make elf costume ideas, including the traditional one for the front of the book.

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album7

This cover page uses green card stock, along with accents in black and gold glitter paper.  The added element of fun is a red felt collar complete with sleigh bells sewn on the corners.  I used a tacky glue to secure the elements.

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album8

Take a look at this first page of the album!  I'm using the 6" Christmas Sweater Masking Stencil as a backdrop, to make it look like a holiday sweater.  Isn't this fun??  This is a perfect page to document those ugly sweater holiday parties.  Embellishments and a title complete the look.

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album2

I've gone over the sweater stencil with several different colors of inks and a sponge.  The key is to make sure you use an extra piece of paper to cover the areas you don't want shaded, and pick a row you want to start with.  I did red and green, and lined up the pattern each time I changed shades.

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album9

The second page of this album is a great idea for those who spend time baking with their family or friends.  This page is reminiscent of a cute Christmas apron!

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album1

I'm using a red polka dot pattern and white card stock, and have created a lace trim from a border punch.  I've used some favorite baking dies in my stash to add to the fun.  And, no apron is complete without a cute ribbon and pocket to finish the look!

Clear_Scraps_8x8_Chipboard_Elf_Album10

Next we have a dressed up elf page - great for documenting a visit to the Nutcracker, or a special church service.  This page incorporates a doily for a collar and other fun embellishments.

We can't forget all those pictures with families in Christmas PJs!  I think this was one of our biggest traditions as my kids were growing up! How cute is it that the elf is holding the picture??

Clear_Scraps8x8_Chipboard_Elf

I've done the arms with pop dots for dimension, using a simple rectangle shape for the arms.  I made it easy by securing these first, then trimming the edges.

The 8x8 Chipboard Tabbed Album is held together with album rings that you can get at Clear Scraps as well.  I'm excited to display this book on my coffee table this Christmas season.  There are a variety of albums and ways to embellish them on the Clear Scraps site - I hope you take a moment to check it out.  Thanks for enjoying the season with me - until next time!

Clear Scraps Mini Shaker--Acrylic Window Shaker Gift Card

Hey everyone!  Who's ready for the holidays?  It's time to get those gifts and cards in

order if you haven't gotten there yet!  I'm sharing a two in one project for a little

inspiration today using one of the Clear Scraps Mini Shakers!

Clear_Scraps_Shaker Ornament_Acrylic Window Shaker Gift Card inside 2(1)Who wouldn't love to get this pretty holiday card but better yet--there's a great

ornament included as a gift!  The Clear Scraps Mini Bulb Shaker was used to

create an ornament to hang on the tree!  The ornament was painted black and

the top of the ornament brushed with silver metallic wax paste.

I traced the back of the ornament on some pretty paper and put it all together using

the Clear Scraps Holiday Sequins (I did pick some of the green out).  I punched a hole

using the larger tabletop crop o dile and some elbow grease, but you could punch each

layer as you go too.  A bit of twine, a touch of ribbon and a few stickers finished it off.

To create the card, I cut a piece of white cardstock to a length of 9&1/2" by 5&1/2".

The 9&1/2" length is scored at 4&1/4", 4&1/2", 8&3/4" and finally 9".  This will give

the card a slight (1/4") gusset or box fold so it has the room to hold the ornament.  I

punched a decorative edge along the one side, but you could leave it plain, add ribbon

etc. On the front of the card, I wanted to add a clear acrylic window to show off that

pretty ornament! So I made a 3&1/4 by 4&1/2" window in the white cardstock.

Super easy to do using my trimmer.

Here I had glued the acrylic "window" in place after the "icicles" (some nuvo glitter glue)

had dried.  It's glued to the back of the frame, and then I cut a piece of paper to cover

the frame both front and back.  You can find acrylic sheets in the Clear Scraps store HERE

The inside of the card was covered with a buffalo plaid patterned paper, then the card

was tied shut using some twine with a jingle bell accent added as a final touch.

Christmas & Tree 3D Frameable

Howdy!

Tami here on the blog today with a project I'd like to show you.

Here in Texas, we usually just have to imagine snow and cold weather for Christmas! Christmas sweaters are usually to hot to wear, so t-shirts that are made to look like sweaters are a better option! LOL!

Holiday crafting helps me get in the spirit of the season as the weather doesn't. Bright and cheery reds and greens, pine trees, sprinkles of glitter snow all make it feel more like Christmas.

Last month I made a 3D Frameable Base & Frame in a neutral color so I could use it throughout the year and just change out the Word & Shape to fit the season or holiday. Please view the post to see how I made the frame and base.

I embellished the Christmas & Tree Word and Shape. I also added a second tree - I had that shape left over after I made the Be Merry Jumbo Tag I shared with you last week.

I selected a vintage inspired paper line to go with my vintage holiday decor, and also added a tiny vintage glass ornament.

Take a look...

Here's how I made it...

First I covered the trees with different printed papers. Then I trimmed the excess paper and used the Sanding Stick to remove the rest. The tip of the sanding tool is perfect for getting into those tight nooks and crannies...

To figure out where to adhere the smaller tree (part of the Word & Shape) I put the larger tree in the slot on the base and adhered the tree so that the bottom would sit on the frame...

Clear_scraps_3D_frameables_christmas_tree_holiday_decor_decorations_wood_frame_altered_viintage_graphic_45_tami_sanders_61

I adhered a quote and some trim pieces on a cardstock scrap to make the insert for my frame. I also cut out a santa and some holly leaves to form a star on one of the trees. A bit of sparkle was added to holly berries and to santa's hair, beard and trim on his coat and pants...

I painted the Christmas red, then added glitter along the top. I used some vintage silver cord to hang a tiny vintage glass ornament from the top of the C.

Thank you for stopping by today. I hope you will come back soon to see what else the talented designers here at Clear Scraps have to show you.

Heart Pallet with Seashells Home Decor Piece

Hi everybody! Leslie here, sharing a home decor piece featuring our Medium Heart DIY Pallet Shape embellished with our Sand Dollar Chipboard Embellishments and Fan Shells Chipboard Embellishments along with a few other supplies! Can't tell you how much I enjoyed creating this! Even though we're almost officially into Winter, I'm squeezing in one more Summer-themed project! It's never too early to get started on next year's gift ideas! ;)

2021_1101010

I started by painting the front and back of the Medium Heart DIY Pallet Shape with Glacier chalk paint.

CStut1_11-01-21

Then I moved on to the Sand Dollar Chipboard Embellishments and Fan Shells Chipboard Embellishments, and painted them with Prominent Pink, Tuscan Red and Oatmeal chalk paint, all mixed separately with Farmhouse White Ash paint to get the desired colors for the individual shells. Then I adhered various shades of pink cardstock behind the shells and inked the edges with antique linen distress ink.

CStut2_11-01-21

I die cut the twisted rope background and adhered it at an angle to the heart pallet.

I attached the shells, one by one, to the heart pallet and then added three pieces of sea glass (not sure if it's real or faux but it works!) that I inked with tumbled glass distress ink.

CStut5_11-01-21

I die cut the letters needed for the sentiment, adhered them in the upper left corner, and then added dark blue gemstones to finish the piece.

The Most Wonderful Time of the Year 3D Framables

Hi Crafty Friends!

Dana here! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog to hopefully inspire you with a fun Christmas Home Decor project using Clear Scraps 3D Frameables! They are so easy and fun to create. For today's project I'm using the base and Deco frame Click Here plus Christmas word and tree shape. Click Here

Christmas is just around the corner, but you still have plenty of time to make those special gifts or decor items to decorate your home.

To start off, remove your two base pieces from your package. You can paint your bases using acrylic paints or trace onto any craft papers you have on hand, then cut them out. I chose to cover both bases 2 different coordinating papers from Carta Bella A Very Merry Christmas collection. I wanted to give my 3D Frameables a more vintage look. But any papers will do!

I trimmed all along the edges of both bases using my x-acto knife. Then distressed edges till smooth. I prefer using Clear Scraps sanding tools Click Here  Make sure to sand in between each of the slits on top of both bases till smooth and clear of any excess paper. Then glue both bases together using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. Set aside to dry.

Next remove your wood and shape pieces from your package. I painted my Christmas tree with green acrylic paint. For the base of the tree I used brown acrylic paint. For my Christmas words I painted them using red acrylic paint. You can add glitter or stamp these if you like. Set these aside to dry.

20211106_120509

Now take your frame and another coordinating paper. Trace around your image using your pencil. Then cut, trim around edges with your x-acto knife. Then smooth around the edges of your frame using your sanding tool. You can now add a photo or one of the journaling cards to the back of your frame with glue. Now glue your top frame to the base frame piece, making sure to line up the top edges.

20211106_144936

Now the fun part left to do is decorating your frame and shapes! I glued some green tinsel around my frame edge. Adhered a puffy sticker string of lights at the top of the inside frame. Then added a ephermera 25 and sentiment piece on each side of my frame.

I adhered a Christmas wreath from my stash to the top of my Christmas wood word. And added some enamel colored dots to my Christmas tree to resemble ornaments and a sequin Star at the top of my tree! To finish my project I glued puffy sticker present at the bottom of my tree, along with a ephermera girl image to the left side of my tree. Added some glitter to my Santa fur and beard.

Here's another example of adding a photo to the back of your Deco Frame:
