Welcome back, everyone! I'm Maureen and I'm sharing a project that will get you ready for any of those end of the year New Years parties! It's fun to have a hostess gift if you plan on attending any events this season, and this idea assembles in just minutes. I always need a hostess idea - and a great bottle of wine or champagne, decorated up with a handmade tag is such a welcome gift!
I've chosen the Mini Wine Glass Chipboard Shaker as the focal point for this tag. It's such a fun embellishment and would look great on a tag, gift bag or card!
My first step was to cut out a shimmery black card stock tag at a 4" by 11" size, then cut out a 2.5" circle at the top with a die cut. I've created a scored fold line underneath the circle to give the tag a better way to lay flat.
From here, I'm using the 6" Bubbles Stencil on the tag, and a white ink and sponge. Take the sponge and dab through the stencil in spots you want to have bubbles show through.
Next, I've prepared the wine glass shaker by tracing the shape on both a sparkly black paper as well as a polka dot paper for the inside of the shaker. Once I cut these out, I've glued them to the top layer and the inside of the shape.
I decided to go back over the edges of the shape with a black marker so the chipboard edges would match the rest of the tag. I also added some Wedding Sequins in the middle of my shape along with some number pieces I had from a previous project. Then, I glued the acrylic piece down and the top layer over it.
To give the festive look of a countdown, I've cut numbers from a die cut set and placed them in cascading order down the side of the tag. These are cut with a silver sparkle card stock.
I added the "cheers" phrase to the front of the wine glass as well, and it really pulls all the other colors together!
At the bottom of the tag, I've attached the Mini Wine Glass shaker with a tacky glue. The specific card stock I chose is of a heavier weight and handles the chipboard element beautifully.
You can add a bit more bling by adding some sparkle glue accents to the edges of the bubbles and letters on the tag. Now all you need is a bottle of wine or sparkling cider to hang it on! Your hosts will enjoy a special handmade gift from you. I invite you to check out the selection of shakers available on the Clear Scraps site for last minute gifts like this!
I hope you enjoy the upcoming end of year festivities and I'm wishing you all an amazing 2022. See you next year!
Maureen
