Christmas & Tree 3D Frameable

Tami here on the blog today with a project I'd like to show you.

Here in Texas, we usually just have to imagine snow and cold weather for Christmas! Christmas sweaters are usually to hot to wear, so t-shirts that are made to look like sweaters are a better option! LOL!

Holiday crafting helps me get in the spirit of the season as the weather doesn't. Bright and cheery reds and greens, pine trees, sprinkles of glitter snow all make it feel more like Christmas.

Last month I made a 3D Frameable Base & Frame in a neutral color so I could use it throughout the year and just change out the Word & Shape to fit the season or holiday. Please view the post to see how I made the frame and base.

I embellished the Christmas & Tree Word and Shape. I also added a second tree - I had that shape left over after I made the Be Merry Jumbo Tag I shared with you last week.

I selected a vintage inspired paper line to go with my vintage holiday decor, and also added a tiny vintage glass ornament.

Here's how I made it...

First I covered the trees with different printed papers. Then I trimmed the excess paper and used the Sanding Stick to remove the rest. The tip of the sanding tool is perfect for getting into those tight nooks and crannies...

To figure out where to adhere the smaller tree (part of the Word & Shape) I put the larger tree in the slot on the base and adhered the tree so that the bottom would sit on the frame...

I adhered a quote and some trim pieces on a cardstock scrap to make the insert for my frame. I also cut out a santa and some holly leaves to form a star on one of the trees. A bit of sparkle was added to holly berries and to santa's hair, beard and trim on his coat and pants...

I painted the Christmas red, then added glitter along the top. I used some vintage silver cord to hang a tiny vintage glass ornament from the top of the C.
