Christmas Joy Slimline Album

Hello Crafters!

I'm Dana and I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog!  Christmas is approaching fast. If you are looking for some Christmas gift ideas, I'm here to hopefully inspire you with how to create a Slimline style album using Clear Scraps Chipboard Scalloped Slimline album. Click Here and also using Clear Scraps Chipboard Star bulbs Click Here

To start this project, we will be covering all our base pages including the front cover and back with paper. All papers will measure 5x11 inches. I'm using Mintay's Merry and Bright collection. But any Christmas papers you have in your stash will work. I recommend using a strong permanent glue like Beacon 3-1 glue. Paint all tabs with cream acrylic paint.

Next cut apart one of your Clear Scraps Chipboard star bulbs from the pack. We will only be using one of the star bulbs for this project. You can save the other bulb for a future project. Using acrylic paint in gold metallic, apply paint on the hanging string and top of your star bulb. Then apply glue to the bow and sprinkle gold glitter on top. Shake off any excess glitter. Apply glue to the ornament bulb and sprinkle with green glitter. Shake off access glitter. Set aside to dry.

Next I fussycut the mistletoe image from the ephermera sheet. Ink edges and apply foam dots to the back. Glue this piece on top of duplicate image on your front cover. Then take and add foam dots to the back of your chipboard Star bulb and adhere on the front of your album. Then apply some sticker sentiments onto front tabs. To finish the front cover, I added acouple sentiment chipboard stickers on the top and bottom of my cover.

Here's a close-up:

Page 1: I made a pocket page, cut at 5x 4 & 1/2 inches, punched my bottom hole before adhering. Using a border punch,  I added a gold metallic border to the top edge of my pocket. I fussy cut out a pointsetta image from leftover scrap paper and adhered to top left side of my page, using foam dots. Applied some Stickles glitter to leaves and stamens. Tucked a journaling card inside my pocket. Added a sentiment chipboard sticker in the middle of my pocket.

Page 2: Adhered a cream cardstock photo mat measuring 4 x 6 and adhered to the center of my page. Added a chipboard sticker flag to top of my photo mat. Sentiment sticker to the bottom of my photo mat. Then glued acouple small flowers on each side of my sentiment. Add a sticker border along the edge.

Page 3 & 4 :

I couldn't bear to cover up these pretty papers so I left these pretty basic. I fussy cut one of the cute elves and adhered to the top left page using foam dots. Then glued a small pom pom to the top of his hat. Applied Stickles glitter to his collar and fur on his hat. I fussy cut a blue bulb ornament and using foam dots adhered this on top of the duplicate image on the left side of page 3. Add border stickers on each sides.

Pages 4: I cut a scrap paper measuring 4 x 8 1/2 inches, score 1/2 inch at the right side and adhere at the right side as a flip page. Inside I added a photo mat 3 x 5 1/2 inches and adhered to the center of my page. Then added acouple stickers, one on the inside flap of my flip page and one on top of my photo mat. I glued another small pom pom to the little elves hat!

Page 6: I cut another photo mat measuring 3 & 1/2 x 4 inches and adhered to the center of my page. I added a flag sentiment sticker at top left side of my photo mat. Adhered 2 other sentiment chipboard stickers to the upper right corner of my page. Fussy cut a ornament image from the ephermera sheet and applied at the bottom of my page. Fussy cut the snowflake cookie and adhered on top of my ornament image eith foam dots. Glued a silver gem in the middle of my snowflake! Adhered border stickers along each edge of both pages.

Pages 7: I didn't want to cover up this cute paper lol  so all I did was add a sentiment chipboard sticker at the top of my page.

Page 8: I took 5 journaling cards and scored 1/2 inch at the top.  For the Santa journaling card,  I  stapled a ticket onto my card before adhering to my page. Then adhered them all as a waterfall onto my page. Added a sentiment flap sticker on the top right of my page. Added some Stickles glitter to my Santa fur and beard!

To finish this album, I tied some red sparkle tulle, gold and green mesh ribbon through the holes of my album. I hope you have been inspired today and will create a treasured album to enjoy for years to come!
