Fall Blessed & Truck 3D Frameable

Hi Ya'll,

Tami here on the blog with you today with a project I'd like to share with you.

I love the new 3D Frameables mostly because I like "multi-taskers". The concept of having one frame and base that I can change up each month to match the season or the holiday is very appealing to me.

My friend and fellow cropper. Charlotte thought I should make one of the base & frame sets in a "basic" color that could be used throughout the year. We talked about maybe just painting it white or staining it. And actually since both sides of the base could be used - there is no right or wrong side. I could paint one side and stain the other.

I like vintage things and a lot of my decor reflects that. So I thought I would like to give my frame and base set a distressed look.

Take a look at how my 3D Framebable using the Blessed and Truck Word and Shape set turned out...

Now let me show you how I made it!

I started by painting the frame and base pieces with a base coat of brown (you only need to paint the bottom portion of the frame backer)...

Then I added 2 coats of white paint, letting it dry in between coats. After the paint had dried completely, I gave them a light sanding using a sanding block to distress them...

I like to leave a space between the frame and the backer to make changing out the photo or quote easier. To do this, I place pieces of 3D Foam Tape around the OUTER edges of the bottom and sides. Line up the pieces and adhere them...

I painted the Truck a vintage-y aqua blue and the Blessed in a golden yellow that matched the papers I was using. I added details to the truck using paint pens. After the pieces dried, I distressed them with brown chalk ink...

I wanted to fill the bed of the truck. I adhered pumpkin stickers on a scrap piece of cardstock and cut them out, leaving a tab at the bottom. I used double sided tape to adhere a base of raffia, then glued on the pumpkins...

And that's it! The pieces were all ready to put together. You can arrange the pieces as you'd like so that the photo or your quote shows. You can also turn the base so that the longer slots or the shorter ones are to the back to help with adjustments.

I will share the Word & Shape I made for Christmas to use with this frame and base next month.

Thanks for visiting the Clear Scraps Blog, please come back soon!
