Clear Scraps Wood Shapes--Farmer's Market Decor

Hi there everyone!  Laura is here with you today to share a home decor project

that's a little bit fall and a little bit farmhouse shabby chic!  Who doesn't love fall?!!

This project started with the Clear Scraps Wood Mason Jars.  They come in a handy

3 pack so you can make many projects for different seasons for your own decor, or they

would be great to make gifts for friends and family too!  There are many other shapes to

chose from as well.  You can find them all in the Clear Scraps store right HERE.

Once I had chosen the wood mason jar shape as my starting point, the next step was to

use white and gray acrylic paint to give the mason jar that shabby chic farmhouse look.

The jar was coated with white paint, and the lid with gray, and then I used a

foam brush to lightly feather on some gray on the white and vice versa on the lid.

I love the weathered and worn look you can get with just a little paint, it's one of my

favorite ways to use the wood shapes!  If you'd prefer you can trace it out on a pretty

paper and cover the entire jar that way.  It's up to you--get creative!!

You can see some of the detail a little better in this picture.  And it was easy to just use

some paper scraps from a LO I had made earlier to decorate the jar.  This is just a couple

of pieces, a solid and a patterned paper layered up.  To keep the worn and "shabby chic"

farmhouse theme, I edged the papers with a bit of brown distress ink.  Then it was time to

have fun mixing in different fall embellishments like stickers, ephemera, twine and enamel

dots to complete the farmer's market/fall look.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!
