Welcome Pumpkin Wood Pallet
September 15, 2021
Hello Clear Scraps friends!
It's Maya here on the blog today. Since fall is just around the corner, I would like to share a fall home decor piece featuring the pumpkin medium DIY pallet shape and 6" fall leaves stencil.
▼ I started by using a sanding stick to polish and smooth the wood surface.
▼ Next, I decided to paint the pumpkin pallet with acrylic paint in cream yellow.
▼ After the paint dried, I punched holes on the edge of the pumpkin pallet using Crop-A-Dile punch tool from We R Memory Keepers.
▼ Then, I bought out my Distress Ink and a blending tool to add brown color to the edge.
▼ I cut a long piece of twine and tied a knot on one end. Starting from the left bottom hole (or start from any of the bottom holes), I threaded the twine following clockwise and tied another knot at the last hole. Below are the finished looks of both front and back sides.
▼ Using Distress Ink and the blending tool along with a 6" fall leaves stencil, I blended brown ink on the stencil to add some patterns to the background. After the brown ink dried, I added another coat of orange ink to give the patterns a two-toned effect. I also added a little orange ink for the outer edge of the pumpkin pallet. Last, I wrote "WELCOME" on the center of the pallet by using brown acrylic paint and a paintbrush.
