Once Upon A Time Slimline Album
September 27, 2021
Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog today sharing an album project I hope you like. If you believe in fairytales and finding true love, I have the perfect album for you! I'm using Clear Scraps Slimline Deco Chipboard album Click Here and round circle shaker. You can see all the variety of shakers available Click Here
First I took some Finnibair Sparks paint and a paint brush and applied the paint to the front and back Deco edges on my album. Let dry.
The papers I chose are from Stamperia Sleeping Beauty collection. All base papers will measure 5x11 inches, the size of this album. I adhered all my papers to the front and back covers, and all inside pages with glue. I recommend using a strong glue like Beacon 3 in 1 glue. Don't forget to mark and punch all your holes along the edge of your papers before gluing. Set your album aside for now.
Next remove your shaker pieces from the package. Take your bottom shaker piece and trace around the edge with a pencil onto your paper. I chose to use one of the round paper images in my paper pack. Cut out image and glue onto your bottom shaker piece. Trim or distress around edges till smooth. Now take your top shaker piece and apply some glitter, paint whatever you prefer. I used Glitteriffic gold glitter and applied around the edge using a paintbrush. I love how easy it is to add some sparkle to your shaker! Let dry.
Now we are ready to assemble our shaker. Glue your next 2 chipboard pieces onto your bottom shaker piece. Fill the middle of your shaker with sequins, glitter, confetti or whatever you prefer. Peel off the protective film off both sides of your acrylic shaker piece. Carefully glue on top of the previous layer. Glue the top shaker piece in place. Set aside to throughly dry before shaking! I know it's hard to resist shaking right away, but if you do your shaker filler will stick to the sides, and you definitely don't want that to happen.
Now we are ready to decorate the cover of our album! I glued my shaker piece in the center of the album. I took a sentiment from my chipboard pack, added foam dots to the back and adhered this above my shaker. I fussycut out the image if Sleeping beauty and the Prince, added some pop dots on the back, then adhered them towards the bottom. I took some rose diecuts and glued in scattered areas on my cover. To finish my cover, I added a few sequins.
For the first two inside pages, I added a Love sentiment diecut to the top of my left page. I fussy cut a cat image, inked edges and adhered to the bottom of my left page with foam dots. These papers were so pretty I didn't want to cover them up!
For page 3, I added a clear diecut sentiment towards the bottom left page using foam dots. For page 4, I made a pocket measuring 5 x 41/2 inches, punched my bottom hole and glued onto the bottom of my page. I tucked in the Prince diecut doll and a clear diecut sentiment into my pocket. I adhered a few pink stars in the sky background on my pocket. Then added a window diecut piece at the top of my right page.
Page 5, I cut out one of the journaling cards and adhered to the center of my page and added a clear rose diecut to the top of my card. I glued another Make a Wish sentiment above my journaling card. Added a jewel from my stash to the top of my left page. For page 6, I cut a small flip page to measure 4 x 3 1/2 inches, scored 1/2 inch on the right and adhered to the right side of my page. I fussy cut the spindle wheel and adhered with pop dots to the top of my flip page. Inside my flip page I took one of the leftover images of Sleeping beauty and glued it inside.
For the last two pages, I made another pocket page on the left. Added a diecut chipboard sticker on top of my pocket. Tucked in 3 tags from the card pack, added some light blue ribbon at the top if each tag. I glued a diecut sentiment at the top of my left page. Page 6, I made a flip page using one of the cards from the card pack. Cut it down to size, scored 1/2 inch on the left, punched my holes. Then adhered to my right page. I added another diecut sentiment to the top. This page would be great to add a wedding photo.
To finish your album, I took some pink velvet ribbon to tie all my pages together into a bow!
