Maple Leaf Mini Shaker Layout

Hello everyone!  It's Jennifer here on the blog to share a layout I created using some fun, fall Clear Scraps products!  Fall is one of my favorite times of year to scrapbook as I love the colors!  I'm also going to show  you how I assembled my page so maybe you will be inspired to create your own autumn themed project!

For my focal point on my page, I  used the Maple Leaf Mini Shaker Shape!  I began by using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to affix patterned paper to the front followed by  cutting away any excess with scissors and an x-acto knife.  I then used my sanding stick to create smooth edges between the paper and chipboard base.

I set that aside to paint the top chipboard frame as well as the edges of the two inside frames with chalk paint in orange.  I then used my Beacon to glue the two inside frames together.

I affixed the two frames to the chipboard base followed by adding gold and rust color chunky glitter.  I then added my Beacon to the outside edges of the chipboard before affixing the acrylic overlay. Finally, I glued on the top chipboard frame.  I used clips to hold my shaker together to ensure a tight seal.

While my shaker was drying, I went to work on the background for my page.  Using the 12 Inch Twig Leaves Mascil and Distress Oxides, I blended in colors on the bottom half of my white cardstock.

Here is a close up of the end result. I did use my Mini Mister to spritz a small amount of water to the surface to lift some of the color.

I allowed my cardstock to dry and added die cuts and stickers to the front of my shaker.  I also wrapped orange/white bakers twine around the bottom edge for accent.  To adhere to my page, I again used the Beacon Adhesive (any solvent based adhesive is recommended).

I added smaller sticker and die cut elements around my photo to accent. I didn't want to over power my page as I wanted the shaker and Mascil/ink to be the stars!
