Welcome Baby!

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Dana and I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog today and share a baby card idea I hope will inspire you! I love making handmade cards and I think baby cards are so fun to create.

For my card I chose Clear Scraps Girl Cloud chipboard embellishment. Click Here

The papers I chose are from Prima Marketing Heaven scent collections one and two.

We will be decorating our chipboard embellishments first. Cut apart your chipboard elements and save the outer frame for a future project. Take some white acrylic paint and a pain brush and paint your cloud white. You may need to add two coats of white paint. Let dry. Then take a sponge dabber and apply blue chalk ink along the edge of your cloud and the inside surface, leaving some white paint showing through to resemble a real cloud. Then cover your two star chipboard shapes using Finnibair sparks paint-Dragon Fly.  After your stars dry, apply some Luna paste -Golden Sand over the top of each star. This gives your stars some sparkle! I painted the girl letters in light pink and the pieces of chipboard hanging off the cloud, I covered with chalk ink Old Rose.

Now we are ready to create our card! I started with a 8x8 card base. I love creating larger size cards so you have more room to add embellishments! I cut my base paper to 8x8 and adhered to my card. Then I chose another coordinating paper for my next layer. I cut this paper slightly smaller and adhered on top of the first layer, using foam tape. I love adding layers and dimension to my cards. Next I cut out a welcome baby journaling card and adhered towards the top of my card.

I fussy cut out a few images from the leftover papers to use to decorate my card. After I was happy with the placement of my card elements and chipboards,  I adhered to my card. I added foam dots to the back of my fussy cut images and chipboard cloud piece, before adhering to my card. The stars I adhered onto my card using Beacon 3 in 1 glue. To finish my card, I applied some Stickles glitter to the baby's bow and ribbon. Adhered some Prima crystals in scattered areas on my card. I added a puffy sticker sentiment towards the top right and a vellum empherma tiny bird to the bottom right corner of my card. I also adhered a tiny Prima flower to the top of my parachute!
