My Happy Place Home Decor

Hi there Crafters!

I'm back on the Clear Scraps blog today sharing a home decor project! I love to create pretty home decor pieces that I can display year after year. Clear Scraps has so many great products to use to create that one of a kind project.

For today's project I'm using Clear Scraps new mini shaker Butterfly Click Here and Wood Deco base Click Here

To begin this project, I took out one of the Wood Deco pieces to use for our main base. You can save the other pieces for future projects. I chose a paper to cover my wood base. I'm using papers from Mintay "Happy Place" collection. Trace around your wood piece with a pencil and cut it out. Add some Beacon 3 in 1 glue and adhere your paper onto your wood base. Then trim any excess paper using your exacto knife. Take your distress tool to smooth out around the edges. Then I took some blue tassel trim from my stash, and adhered my trim along the edge of my wood shape. Set aside to dry.

Next we will work on our butterfly shaker. Remove your pieces from package. Take the bottom piece, trace onto coordinating paper and cut out. Adhere your paper onto your butterfly shaker piece with glue.  Trim away any excess paper and use your distress tool to smooth out around the edges. Take your top shaker piece add glue around the butterfly shaker piece and decorate with paint, glitter or confetti as I did.

While drying, take the next two shaker pieces and glue onto the bottom base piece. You may fill your shaker with sequins, or any shaker filler you desire. Clear Scraps has a wide variety of shaker fillers to chose from. I am using Clear Scraps Heart Love Click Here.

Next glue your acrylic piece on top, making sure you peel off the protective film on both sides before gluing. Then finish by gluing your top shaker piece in place. Set your shaker aside to dry. Do not shake until it's throughly dried.

Now we can decorate our base. I chose a variety of ephermera,  sentiment pieces, along with some fussy cut pieces from my leftover papers. Ink all edges. Then play with the placement before adhering. I used some foam dots on several pieces to add more dimension to my project. I glued my butterfly shaker in the upper right corner  I then added some crystal gems and glitter to my butterfly wings! To finish my project I took a piece of light blue tulle and attached to the back of my piece with hot glue!

Here are some close ups!

I hope you've enjoyed this project today! Thanks for stopping by the Clear Scraps blog! Be sure to visit the Clear Scraps website Click Here for all your crafty needs.

Till next time, Happy Crafting!
