Hello Craft Friends!
Dana here! I'm happy to be back on the Clear Scraps blog to share a Summer Beachy Acrylic Album project. I'm using Clear Scraps Acrylic Wave Slimline album. Click Here
I love the Slimline design and wavey edge that gives this album a unique style! We'll also be using Clear Scraps Sand Dollar Chipboard Embellishments Click Here
To begin our project, cut apart your chipboard embellishment shapes. Save the outside frame from your chipboard. We'll be using it later. Sand off any rough edges. I took some beige cream colored acrylic paint and applied to my sanddollar chipboard shape. Let dry. Then I applied some Ultra Sparkle paste( Golden Sand) over the top. Set aside to dry. Take your starfish chipboard shape and cover with some Gold Crackle paste. Set aside and let dry.
Now we'll start working on our acrylic album. I recommend peeling off each page as you go along. That way you won't accidentally scratch your acrylic. To adhere your papers to your album, I recommend using a clear adhesive or vellum tape. Remember to only apply adhesive where it won't show through to the other side.
The papers I chose to use for this album are Prima Marketing Golden Coast collection, along with puffy stickers, ephermera and crystal gems. Cut all your papers to measure 4 1/2 x 10 1/2 inches, leaving a edge of the acrylic visible on all 3 sides. Be sure to punch holes before adhering your papers onto your acrylic page.
Page 1: I took a 3x4 journaling card and scored 1/2 inch on the left and adhered to the top left side of my page. I made a pocket at the bottom of my page. Added an ephermera heart and tucked a small journaling card inside of my pocket.
Page 2: I added a cream photo mat measuring 4 x 3 3/4, and a puffy shell sticker and some gems.
Page 3: I made another pocket page, with a punched border at the top. Add one of the sentiments from the ephermera pack and crystals.
Page 4: I made a flip page measuring 3 & 1/2 x 8 inches, score 1/2 inch on the right side and adhere to your page. You could add a photo inside. Took a journaling card, added foam tape to the back and adhered centered on my flip page. Glued a Prima flower on top. I stapled a sentiment at the top.
Page 5: I took the frame from our chipboard and covered it with some silver Washi tape. I added a photo to the back of my frame. Then adhered onto my page. Added another sentiment and puffy sticker heart at the top. Glued a Prima flower on the lower left corner of my frame. Pop dot an ephermera piece at the bottom of my page.
Page 6: After adhering my paper, i added another punched border on the right side. I took some of the 3x4 journaling cards and waterfall them on my page. Took the anchor ephermera piece, added a foam dot and adhered to the bottom of the page. Then add a Prima crystal.
Page 7: I cut a piece of paper 4 & 1/4 x 4 & 1/2 inches, scored 1/2 inch on the right, punched a hole at the bottom before adhering to the page. Added a puffy seahorse stickers and some gems. A bit of glitter to my shell. Add a sentiment at the top.
Page 8: Made another pocket with a border and tucked a few ephermera cards inside the pocket. Pop dot an ephermera piece on top of my pocket. Prima crystals at the top of my page to finish.
Now to decorate the cover of our album, take another journaling card, add some foam tape to the back and adhere in the center. I took my Starfish chipboard piece and cut it in half. Tuck one piece behind your journaling card on the upper right corner and the remaining piece on the bottom left corner. I took the chipboard sand dollar, added some foam dots to the back and adhered over the bottom right corner of my journaling card. I tucked a shell ephermera piece behind my sanddollar with foam dots. The gold seahorse I glued over part of my shell. At the top I glued some Prima flowers, and palm leaves. Fussy cut acouple shells from my leftover paper. I tucked them in between the flowers along with a puffy and ephermera heart. I glued acouple pearls onto my flower petals. I brushed my flower petals with a bit of Luna paste Golden Sand. Added a few crystals. To finish my album, I added 3 metals rings, tied some pink, white and coral blue tulle onto my metal rings, and added a shell charm!
