Clear Scraps Wood Shapes--Be Colorful

Hi all!  Laura here with you today to share some inspirational home decor!

I've used the Clear Scraps Wood Shapes to create this bright and colorful project.

This project looks complicated, but it's super simple!  You start with the Clear Scraps

Deco and Rectangle Wood Shapes.  These awesome pieces are really versatile to

have around to create all sorts of projects, and best yet, they come in THREE packs!!

So great for making multiples for gifts, or just having a lot of options to create!

Here I traced the deco on one piece of patterned paper, and I measured and cut the

rectangle out of another piece of paper that had a good base background (more solid)

color.  Then I glued them down, and inked the edges with some black distress ink.

I like the way layering the 2 wood pieces gives more dimension to the project.  I could

have just done a layer of paper too, but it really give it a little extra something, and hey,

it's the absolute PERFECT fit to layer these two pieces together!

To create the sky look for the hot air balloon, I wanted to add some fluffy little clouds.

Cue the perfect stencil that makes clouds super easy!  The Clear Scraps 6" Cloud

stencil of course!  I just used a foam brush and some white acrylic paint.  I like that

the stencil has so many different clouds you can choose which fits your project best.

I then just outlines the clouds using a fine tip black marker to make them pop.

The hot air balloon is one of the many chipboard shapes available from

Clear Scraps.  It's painted it with acrylic paints, then inked it up a bit and added

a couple of stickers.  A few other stickers finished this project off.  Perfect inspiration

piece for a friend or for your own craft room or home office!

Thanks for stopping by today!
