Travel Acrylic Tab Slimline Album

Hello friends! It is Jennifer here on the blog to share another one of the fabulous Slimline Albums with you!  If you have not had a chance to create with these fun shaped albums, you must!  And there are different styles to choose from as well!  Today, I'm sharing the Acrylic Tab Slimline Album which comes with five pages! I used by book to document a recent family trip to Northern Michigan for a family reunion!

I wanted to add color to the front cover of my album so I flipped it over and placed it on a craft sheet.  I  then selected a handful of alcohol inks that coordinated with the collection I  used.  I added droplets of each color from lightest to dark starting at the top. When I was finished, I added a few drops of white mixative.

Here is a close up of the end result.  I did add a strip of patterned paper and some chipboard embellishments to the front cover but wanted the alcohol ink to be the spotlight.

Each page is approximately 5 x 11 inches in size with cascading tabs at the side.  I adhered 4.75 x 10.75 pieces of patterned paper using my Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive. Using a solvent based adhesive works best with Clear Scraps acrylic because it will not cause it to yellow over time.  Plus it will dry quickly.

Most pages fit a 4x4 or a vertical 4x6 photo nicely. I tend to mat all of my photos on to cardstock so I do trim them down accordingly.  Here, I simply trimmed my horizontal 4x6 after adhering to the background paper. I will do this prior to affixing the background piece in case I  need to make any adjustments.

I  do try to add a little journaling to each photo if possible but its definitely ok to leave a page blank.  I feel its most important to just get feelings/events down onto your pages even if it is a few sentences.

I thought adding these self adhering brads would be adorable on each of the tabs!  Having the acrylic, I could line up each size front to back!  You can also do this with buttons and your favorite solvent based adhesive!
