There's No Place Like Home - 3D Frameable Decor

Tami here on the Clear Scraps blog with you today. And I have a project to share using one of the NeW 3D Frameables. 

I started with the Base with Deco Frame and added the Home-House Word n Shape.

I love that you can swap out themes to match your photos! Great home decor or gift item!

I started by covering the frame portion with printed paper. Clear Scraps' Sanding Sticks - which come in Large and Small - are great for removing the excess paper from around the frame quickly and cleanly. And you can order refill Belts for the sticks so that you can always have a fresh sanding surface. Of course you can move the belt around the stick first, until you use up ALL the sanding areas of it! I added some paper flowers with pearl centers to the upper left corner of the frame. 

Next, I painted the small part of the base green, and the larger part white. I painted the house blue and the home word yellow.

I wanted to add a few more details so I used some clip art to print out a small door, window and 2 hearts. I used markers to color them in, then cut the pieces out and adhered them to the house and the "o" in home.

I wanted to put a quote rather than a photo in the frame, so I also printed out "there's no place like..." on white cardstock.

One hint when assembling these frames is to use 3D tape or squares to adhere the front of the frame to the base of the frame - making sure you place it close to the outer edges. That way, you can slip photos in and out easily.

I also like that this project can be completely disassembled to store flat. Or to make shipping easier.
