Clear Scraps Gnome Mini Shaker--Land that I Love

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today to share a little patriotic pride project

with Memorial Day right around the corner!   It's a fun and easy home decor idea!

Clear_Scraps_Gnome Shaker_Land that I Love pic 1(1)This project started with the Clear Scraps Heart Medium DIY Pallet Shape.  I started

by tracing the different sections of the heart shape onto the red, the white/ombre and

the blue patterned papers.  I cut them out, brushed the edges with a little black distress

ink (just to cover the white core of this particular paper) and then glued them onto the

pallet.  As always, you can do whatever you'd like. Paint it, ink it, stencil it, a lot of options.

Next, I made the cute little gnome!  This is the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Gnome.  Such a

cutie, right??!!  Often I will trace these out on paper, but today, I decided to "shake it up"

(haha no pun intended).  I used paint on this sweet little gnome, painting the bottom with

blue and the hat area with red.  Then I went back after it dried a bit, and used a stencil--

the Clear Scraps 4x6 Stars stencil which matches my patriotic theme perfectly.

I used a sponge dauber with just a wee bit of white paint and added the little

stars all over with the stencil.  Turned out so cute, kind of like making your own

patterned paper.  It's always fun to play with different techniques with these

chipboard pieces.  Don't be afraid to play!

Here it is all finished.  I added a few splatters of white paint (messy can be

a lot of fun!) and then some sparkly red, white and blue sequins.  Just the

perfect touch for this Memorial Day decor!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you found a little inspiration!

Mermaid Fin Shaker card

Hi Crafty Friends!

It's Dana and I'm here to share a Slimline shaker card project. I'm sure you know how popular the Slimline cards are right now. So when I saw this new Shaker Fin from Clear Scraps, I could hardly wait to use it. You can find it here Click Here

My Slimline card measures: 7 & 1/4 x 8 & 1/4. Score @ 4 &3/8 inches. I used a plain white heavy cardstock. To decorate my card base, I used Frank Garcia's St. Tropaz paper and cut it to fit my card base, leaving 1/4 inch of white card showing around the edge. I added some foam dots to the back before adhering to my card. Then I cut one of the border papers to fit and added some foam dots to the back and adhered at the bottom of my card.

20210410_132249

Set your card aside for now. Take out your shaker pieces. Take the back base piece and trace onto another paper of your choice and cut out. Take your Beacon 3 in 1 glue and adhere your paper to the shaker bottom piece. Then using an x-acto knife trim along the edge. Distress around the edges with Clear Scraps sanding stick. Click Here

20210410_134532

Next I painted my top shaker piece using Spectrum Noir Sparkle paint Aquamarine. Be sure to paint around the sides of all shaker pieces except the acrylic piece. Let dry. Then glue the first two shaker pieces to your shaker base. Fill your shaker with sequins or whatever you prefer. For my project I used Clear Scraps Winter sequins pack but I omitted the red sequins. You can find them Click Here.

Then peel the protective film off both sides of the acrylic shaker piece before gluing. Add your top shaker piece to finish. Set aside and let dry throughly before shaking! I know it's hard not to shake!

Now take your card and plan out how you want to decorate it along with any embellishments you wish to use. I chose to take one of the journaling cards to use for my sentiment. I used a scalloped die to cut out my sentiment shape. Added foam dots to the back and adhered in the upper right corner of my card. Added a chipboard foil heart and puffy stickers to the edge of my sentiment.  I glued my shaker Finn piece to the left side of my card and slanted it slightly. I added a small flower to the bottom of my shaker Finn. Fuzzy cut out a little turtle, metal anchor and a few clear enamel dots.

Floral Panel

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here with a beautiful floral panel using wood and chipboard elements.
With the assorted wood pallets available at Clear Scraps, there are so many projects you can create from albums to frames to home decor pieces.

Floral-panel-clearscraps-rinea-7-steph-ackerman

Starting with a wood rectangle panel from the Wood Rectangle 3 Pack, I cut blue foiled paper slightly smaller than the panel.
I left a little edge of the wood panel to show.
At 6 1/2" x 9 1/2", this is a great size to use as a wall hanging.

Floral-panel-rinea-clearscraps-2-steph-ackerman

Placing the 4x6 Grass Stencil on the foil, I used Rinea Ghost Ink along both edges of the panel.
Ghost Ink removes some of the color from the foil.

Floral-panel-rinea-clearscraps-1-steph-ackerman

The Grass Stencil added different sized lengths along the panel.
I wanted to add a pattern to the background, but I didn't want it to be overpowering, so this effect created a nice background.
Then I adhered the foil to the wood panel.

Floral-panel-rinea-clearscraps-steph-ackerman

I created a very large flower from foiled paper and assembled it with a large brad.
I then placed the flower on the panel.

Floral-panel-clearscraps-rinea-4-steph-ackerman

I chose the Life is Good chipboard word title, inking it with pink ink.
I also embossed it to give it a shiny effect.
At approximately 2" x 4", it was perfectly sized for the panel.

Finally, I used a crop-a-dile to easily punch holes in the panel and threaded ribbon through to use a the hanger.

What do you think?

I hope you give it a try.

Thanks for stopping by.

Mother's Day Cards with Clear Scraps

Happy Friday! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share acrylic cards I created using Clear Scraps Chipboard Embellishment Shapes!  And I'm going to show you the easy techniques I  used!

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards

For my first card, I cut a 4 1/2 x 5 1/2 piece from the 12x12 Acrylic Sheet. I  removed the protective covering from only one side of the acrylic while I  worked.

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards7

Using Staz On Ink in Opaque, I  stamped the front of my acrylic (re-inking the stamp each time).

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards4

I set aside the acrylic to dry so I could paint the Chipboard Embellishment Shapes I planned to use.  For the Clothes Hangers Chipboard Embellishment Shapes and Mother Chipboard Script Word Title, I painted each with chalk paint in light blue.  I ensured that I applied multiple coats for good coverage.  Once dry, I applied embossing ink followed by glitter blue embossing powder.

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards3

I adhered my chipboard using Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive as it dries quickly and will not warp or yellow the acrylic.

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards9

For my second card, I used the Mother Chipboard Script Word Title and followed the same techniques as my first card.

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards2

I  again used Staz On Opaque to stamp the front of my acrylic but this time, I  did not re ink my stamp each time. This gave a muted effect to a few of the images.

Clear_Scraps_Mothers_Day_Cards8

The chipboard is again adhered with my Beacon adhesive as you know you will get a good seal between your pieces!

Family Desktop Frame

Happy Wednesday! It's Maya here on the blog today to share this home decor project featuring the family desktop frame. It's just so perfect for a family photo and I used this photo back from our wedding day with both sides of me and my husband's family.

P1210304

▼ The desktop frame set comes with 1 laser cut word frame, 1 cutout, and 2 base pieces for the standing frame.

20210421_123236

▼ I started by painting the word "FAMILY" with different pink acrylic paint. I tried to mixed the colors that match a patterned paper I chose for the cut out frame.

20210421_140909

▼ Next, I used the cut out frame and traced on two patterned papers (one for the background and another one for the frame), cut them out and adhered with tacky glue.

20210421_151811

▼ On the back of the cut out frame, I applied 0.25 inch double sided foam tape to adhere to the cut word frame, so a photo (with size 5.5 x 4 inches) can slide into the frame.

20210422_121329

▼ For the two wood bases, I traced them on a patterned paper, cut them out with a carving craft knife, and adhered to the bases using tacky glue.

20210422_122340

▼ Here is the finished look of the cut out pieces. Just assemble them together to stand it up, which is so perfect to mail as a gift.

20210422_122701

▼ To add extra touches, I cut out some elements (flowers, leaves, butterflies, a house) and glued them to the frame. I also added some pink pearls on one of the bases for a finishing touch.

Travel Regular Wood Slimline Album

Hello and happy Monday! It's Jennifer to share one of the new Slimline Albums and Mini Shaker Shapes!  There are five different designs that come in chipboard, acrylic, and wood!  For my project, I used the Regular Wood Slimline Album which measures 5x11 inches!

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album

I used white acrylic paint on the front cover of my album as well as painted the inside edges of each page.

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album2

Using the 4x6 Quarterfoil Stencil and Distress Oxides, I  blended my two colors onto the wood cover.

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimine_Album3

Here is a close up of the end result!

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album4

For the main focus of my cover, I used the new Suitcase Mini Shaker. I  covered the base chipboard with patterned paper and smoothed the edges using a sanding tool.

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album5

I then painted the top chipboard frame and inside edges of the two middle frames with chalk paint in light blue.  Once my middle frames were adhered, I placed sequins in the center of my shaker before affixing the acrylic piece.

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album6

And here is a close up of the shaker!  I adhered my shaker to the front of the album using Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive. It's best to use a solvent based liquid adhesive as it will not warp your wood or acrylic.

Clear_Scraps_Regular_Wood_Slimline_Album7

Each Slimline Album comes with five pages; for my project I covered each page with patterned paper before adhering my photos.

I added extra pages by inserting tags from the Acrylic Tag album.  This is a great way to add additional photos or journaling!
