Clear Scraps Gnome Mini Shaker--Land that I Love

Hi there everyone!  Laura here with you today to share a little patriotic pride project

with Memorial Day right around the corner!   It's a fun and easy home decor idea!

Clear_Scraps_Gnome Shaker_Land that I Love pic 1(1)This project started with the Clear Scraps Heart Medium DIY Pallet Shape.  I started

by tracing the different sections of the heart shape onto the red, the white/ombre and

the blue patterned papers.  I cut them out, brushed the edges with a little black distress

ink (just to cover the white core of this particular paper) and then glued them onto the

pallet.  As always, you can do whatever you'd like. Paint it, ink it, stencil it, a lot of options.

Next, I made the cute little gnome!  This is the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Gnome.  Such a

cutie, right??!!  Often I will trace these out on paper, but today, I decided to "shake it up"

(haha no pun intended).  I used paint on this sweet little gnome, painting the bottom with

blue and the hat area with red.  Then I went back after it dried a bit, and used a stencil--

the Clear Scraps 4x6 Stars stencil which matches my patriotic theme perfectly.

I used a sponge dauber with just a wee bit of white paint and added the little

stars all over with the stencil.  Turned out so cute, kind of like making your own

patterned paper.  It's always fun to play with different techniques with these

chipboard pieces.  Don't be afraid to play!

Here it is all finished.  I added a few splatters of white paint (messy can be

a lot of fun!) and then some sparkly red, white and blue sequins.  Just the

perfect touch for this Memorial Day decor!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Hope you found a little inspiration!
