Hi there Crafty Friends!
I'm so looking forward to Spring aren't you? I love the beauty of blooming flowers and gardens. For today's project, I'm creating a garden journal using Clear Scraps Wood blank album Click Here and 6x6 Doily stencil Click Here
These Clear Scraps 6x8 albums are so versatile and can be decorated in a variety of ways. For my project I chose 49 & Market Vintage Artistry Blush collection.
To begin this project, I took my Clear Scraps Doily stencil and using masking tape secured it in place on the top of my album. I chose only to use only a part of this stencil design. Then taking a palette knife and some 3D gloss gel I spread over top of my stencil. Scrape off any excess gel and carefully lift off your stencil. Let dry throughly. To speed up the drying process, you may use your heat tool. Repeat this same process with the stencil, on the bottom and left side of your album cover.
Next we can decorate the cover of the album. I arranged my pieces making sure of the placement, before adhering with glue. I used some ephermera pieces along with some punch out floral pieces. For my flower piece and butterfly, I added some foam dots to the back, before gluing to my album cover. I glued a few pink sequins to finish off my cover. I like to add glitter to my flowers and butterfly wings.
For the inside cover, I cut a 6x4 inch piece of coordinating paper, punched my holes on the right side and adhered as a pocket. Added a piece of trim to the top edge of my pocket. I took one of the ephermera cards and added a floral rub-on to the envelope. Then tucked inside my pocket. For the adjoining page on the right, I cut this paper to measure 6x8, punched holes on the left side, added a rub-on sentiment and some epoxy dots. I left this blank for a photo or some journaling.
Next page I decorated with rub-ons, and photo frame. I added foam dots to the back of my sentiment and photo mat, leaving side open to slip in a photo. For the page on the right, I added a small photo frame, 3D leaves, and pop dots to the flower and sentiment. I like to add some glitter to my butterfly wings.
For my last page, I made another 6x8 pocket, added a punch out butterfly on the ride side of my pocket. Added glitter to the butterfly wings. Took a empherma card added a paper clip and rub on sentiment. I made a tag from some leftover paper, punch a hole at the top. Added a rub on sentiment and some tied some seam binding through the hole if my tag. Then adhered another punch out sentiment to the upper left hand corner of my page.
For the back cover, I took some leftover paper and cut at 3 & 1/4 x 8 inches and adhered as a side pocket to the right side back cover. Took one of the empherma cards, added another rub-on sentiment and tucked inside the pocket. Added some glitter to the floral images.
To finish my album, I added a few metal rings and tied some pink and green ribbons into a bow and added some bumble bee/flower charms.
I hope you enjoyed my project today and it will inspire you to create your very own journal. Be sure to visit the Clear Scraps website Click Here
