Hello Spring Wood Shape Wall Hanging by Maya

Hello everyone! Maya is here on the blog today to share a spring wood shape. It was so much fun to create this mixed media home decor piece using Clear Scraps wood shapes, chipboard shape embellishments, and stencils. I am ready for spring to arrive! Who is also ready for spring?

▼ I used the rectangle wood, old truck and butterflies chipboard embellishment for this project.

▼ First, I painted the background with clear gesso. After the gesso dried, I applied another coat of white acrylic paint. Instead of using white acrylic paint and clear gesso, you may apply white gesso directly.

▼ Next, I blended inks to the white background using distress oxide ink pads along with sponges.

▼ Here I added another layer of butterfly patterns to the background by using 6'' monarch butterfly stencil and blending distress oxide ink with a piece of sponge.

▼ I also added some embossed bubbles by applying VersaMark ink to the image through the 6" Bubbles stencil and white embossing powder.

▼ For the chipboard embellishments, I painted them with pink acrylic paint.

▼ The final touch is these paper flowers I made for decoration! You can also use any kind of paper or fabric flowers for decoration.
