Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Mitten--I'm S-Mitten Valentine's Card

Hey there everyone!  Laura is here to share a little Valentine's inspiration with you today!

Clear_Scraps_Mitten Mini Shaker_I'm S-Mitten Valentine's Card(1)

I think out of all of the homemade cards, Valentine's can be one of the most special.

They are fun to embellish up any way you want to, because you will often give one to

that "someone special" in person on Valentine's Day.  This particular card was

created using one of the Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Mitten shapes.  Not necessarily

what you'd think of for Valentine's, but hey, I like to think outside the box!  Clear

Scraps has some lovely hearts and such if you'd prefer, but I saw the mitten and

the "S-Mitten" play on words just popped into my head.  Cute, right??!!

To start this one off I first painted the top outline/layer of the mitten with pink,

red, and white acrylic paint.  While that dried, I traced the back portion of the

mitten shaker onto a pretty piece of Valentine heart patterned paper.

Clear_Scraps_Mitten Mini Shaker_I'm S-Mitten Valentine's Card close up 1(1)

Next, I cut the shape out and then glued it to the back solid piece of the shaker.

Then I glued the other 2 unpainted outline shape pieces, to build up the shaker.

Next I added the super cute Valentine sprinkles.  These are NEW from Clear Scraps!

Clear_Scraps_Mitten Mini Shaker_I'm S-Mitten Valentine's Card(2)

This particular mix is called the Sprinkles Love Mix.  Look at the cute little hearts

and snowflakes and yes, sprinkles!  Just adorable!  You can find these and more

in the "What's New" section in the Clear Scraps store right HERE.   After adding

those sprinkles, I glued on the acrylic layer--and remember--make sure to take

the protective film off of BOTH sides of your acrylic layer!!!  It's hard to tell, but it's

on there to keep it protected until you use it!  Lastly, you glue on the painted top piece.

While it all dries well, I created the standard A2 white card base (5&1/2"x4&1/4") and

added red and patterned paper.  I added some twine, trim and enamel dots to finish it up.

Thanks for Stopping by today!  Stop back soon for more inspiration!!

Heart/Paw Mini Shaker Layout

Happy Friday friends! It's Jennifer on the blog today to share a layout I created using one of the fun Clear Scraps Mini Shaker Shapes! They are great to use on layouts, cards, mini albums; just about any project!  The Heart/Paw Mini Shaker is perfect for a page all about our black lab mix Henry!

Clear_Scraps_HeartPaw_Mini_Shaker

I began with a 12x12 piece of white cardstock for my background.  Using the 12 Inch Cloud Mascil I lightly spritzed the cardstock with blue spray ink. You can go as light or dark  as you prefer. For my layout I didn't want the blue to overpower the rest of my colors so was sparing with my spray.

Clear_Scraps_HeartPaw_Mini_Shaker2

For my shaker, I painted the top chipboard frame with black acrylic paint and filled with multi colored sequins.  I applied Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to the back to adhere to my page as you want a strong bond to hold your embellishment.

Clear_Scraps_HeartPaw_Mini_Shaker3

Here is a close up of the spray ink + Mascil on my cardstock.  Clear Scraps stencils are a great way to add dimension to your projects!  I also added strips of patterned paper as well as a border sticker to create contrast.

Clear_Scraps_HeartPaw_Mini_Shaker4

Adding small embellishments such as stickers and enamel dots can be great accents to your page!  I will also "pop up" embellishments with foam tape for additional dimension.

Placing stickers or die cuts on top of your photos is a fun way to add a pop of color to your page!

Happy Valentine's Day Tags

Hi everyone, Steph Ackerman here today working with tags from the Chipboard Tag Album.  The tag album consists of 4 different shaped tags, and I selected 2 to use for a set of special Valentine's Day Tags.

Valentines-day-tag-clearscraps-6-steph-ackerman

I began by inking the tags with an irridiscent ink.

Valentines-day-tag-clearscraps-steph-ackerman

Then I used the tags as stencils to cut my papers to fit.

Valentines-day-tag-clearscraps-1-steph-ackerman

Using Rinea Foiled Papers, I cut the first layer in gold and the second layer in red.
The second layer was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder then the layers were adhered to the tag.

Valentines-day-tag-clearscraps-2-steph-ackerman

I repeated the process for the second tag but used pink foil for the tag and used a different embossing folder.

The foiled panels were adhered to the tags.

Now that the tag bases were complete, it was time to decorate so I pulled items from my stash.

I die cut additional foil layers and added them to the tags, then I placed flowers and sentiments on top.

Valentines-day-tag-clearscraps-7-steph-ackerman

I stamped two Prima girls and colored them with Copic Markers.  Then I fussy cut them and placed them atop the tags.

Finally, ribbons were tied to the tags to complete the tags.

Aren't they sweet?

Thanks for stopping by.

Snow Day Acrylic Tag book

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Dana and I have a winter tag project to share with you today. If you haven't tried crafting with Clear Scraps acrylic yet, I encourage you to try it out.  Don't be intimidated by it.  I'm here to help you if you need to be inspired.

For this project I chose Clear Scraps Circle Scallop Acrylic Album.   I'm also using Crate Paper "Bundled Up" paper and chipboard stickers to decorate my book.

20201222_124742

My first tag measures 3 & 1/2 x 2 &1/4 inches. Peel off the protective film on borh sides of your acrylic tag. I only peel off each protective layer as I go along.  I traced and cut out my paper. Mark and punch out your top holes. Then adhere paper to the back of your acrylic tag. I cut out a sentiment flag and glued towards the bottom of my tag. Added a chipboard sticker and snowflake on the top of my tag.

20201226_124815

Back of tag #1: I cut another coordinating paper and glued to my acrylic tag. I cut out a sentiment and ahered to the bottom. Added a ephemera snowflake in the middle part of my tag and glued a silver rhinestone in the middle of my snowflake.

20201226_124750

Tag #2: measures at 3 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/4 inches. Adhere your paper to the back side of your tag. Mark and punch holes on top. Then I cut my other paper at 3 & 1/2 x 2 inches and adhered it as a pocket. I added a sentiment sticker and mittens embellishment to the front of my pocket and tucked a mitten ephermera card inside my pocket.

20201226_124631

The back of #2: cut my paper to measure 3 & 1/2 x 4 & 1/4 inches and glued down onto my tag surface. Then cut another paper at 3 & 1/2 x 2 1/4  to create a pocket. I added a sentiment chipboard sticker and cut out a journaling tag to tuck inside my pocket. Added some silver tinsel through the top hole on my tag.

20201226_135359

Tag # 3: I chose to add a photo to the back of my chipboard sticker frame. Then glued this onto the center of my acrylic tag. Cut out a sentiment from one of my papers and adhered to the bottom of my photo. Then added a chipboard sticker snowflake to the upper left corner of my photo frame. I took some Luna paste " moonlight pearl" and applied with a small paintbrush tmaround the edge of my acrylic tag. This adds a nice frosty effect. Let dry.

20201227_142315

Back of tag #3: I cut my paper to measure 2 & 3/4 x 4 & 1/2 inches. Adhere to your acrylic tag surface. I cut out Dashing through the snow sentiment and added foam dots to the back. Then adhere onto my tag. Glued a jolly snowman on sled chipboard sticker. Added some fake snow to the bottom of my sled and Stickles glitter to my snowman scarf.

20201227_082846

Tag #4: Paper measures at 3 & 1/2 x 6 inches. Adhere to tag surface. I created another pocket measuring 3 & 1/2 x 2 & 1/4 inches. Added some silver Washi tape to top if my tag and on both top and bottom of my pocket. Tucked a Hat ephermera card inside my pocket. Added a silver snowflake embellishment to the upper left corner of my tag. And a Snow sentiment sticker to my pocket.

20201227_083134

Back side of tag #4: cut paper at 3 & 1/2 x 5 & 1/2 inches and adhered to tag surface. Then I cut a polka dot paper to measure 3 & 1/4 x 5 inches and scored it on the left side at 1/2 inch, attached it evenly on left side of tag. This creates a flip page. You may add a photo inside if you like. To decorate my flip page I added a girl on sled sticker and acouple chipboard embellishment stickers.

20201227_083026

Tag # 5 adhere a 3 & 1/2 x 6 inch polka dot paper to back of your acrylic tag. Made another pocket as I did previously. Tucked an ephermera snow angel inside my pocket. Glued 3 banner flags to the top of my tag surface. Added pop dots to the back of my mitten empherma and adhered to the front of  my pocket.

20201227_083605

Back of tag #5: Paper measures 3 & 1/2 x 5 inches. Made another pocket. Tied twine and jute cords to my tags and added some chipboard stickers to decorate my tags, before tucking into my pocket. Then glued one chipboard girl on skates sticker to my front if my pocket.

20201227_115245

Tag # 6: Paper measures 3 & 1/2 x 8 inches. Set aside.  I added a photo to the back of my empherma frame and glued to the middle of my tag.  Next I adhered my paper to the back of my acrylic tag,  being careful to only place glue behind your photo frame and sentiment so your glue won't show through your acrylic. Next I added a  sticker embellishment to top of my tag. Pop dot to the back of  my snowflake ephermera piece and adhered this to the upper left corner of my photo frame. I also added a pop dot to the back of my "Noted" empherma piece and adhered this to the bottom of my frame. Adhered a sled sticker and snowflake chipboard sticker to finish my tag.

20201227_124357

To finish off my tag book, I added acouple silver metal rings and then tied some red tulle and ribbons onto my metal rings.

You and Me Desktop Frame by Maya

Hello everyone! Maya here on the blog today to share this home decor piece featuring the You & Me Desktop Frame. I had so much fun making this project. The cut out heart frame is so perfect for a favorite photo, and I decided to use our wedding photo.

P1210051

▼ The desktop frame comes with 1 laser cut word frame, a heart shape cutout, and 2 base pieces for the standing frame. To start the project, I traced the wood word and both bases on a patterned paper. After that, I cut the paper with a carving craft knife. Then, I used tacky glue to adhere the patterned papers on the wood word and bases.

20210105_135944

▼ For the cutout heart frame, I applied a coat of white embossing powder and heated with a heat gun. Next, I traced the heart frame on my photo, cut and glued it to the word frame, and glued the embossed frame on top of the photo.

20210105_150650

▼ After I assembled the pieces, I also tied a bow with cheesecloth and added two paper flowers for extra touches.

Spring Window by Kelly Parker

Hello on the blog with Clear Scraps today and I have created a hinged Window Shaker! I love this and it was such a fun project, I hope you enjoy it too!

To start off this project, I had this vision of what I wanted it to look like but I wasn't sure how to achieve that look, so I started by die cutting all kinds of small leave images from some of my Gelli plate printed papers in greens, yellows, and blues. I wanted a variety to choose from and not run out.

I then decided to use washi tape to cover the back of the window. I generally apply glue then add the washi tape then cut off the edges.

While the washi tape was drying, I put together the acrylic window. First I had to cut another piece of acrylic because I wanted to add sequins to the front of the window. Pulling out some packaging, I traced around the window and cut out another piece to go on the back. I glued a chipboard window to the back of the acrylic then another chipboard then added the sequins in Ocean and Lovely colors then added the acrylic to the back of this sandwich. You can see it below, the clips are holding it together until it is dry.

After everything was dry, I started to glue down the die-cut pieces to create an illusion of looking through a window. I added leaves to the front and to the inside of the piece after I added the image of the woman peeking out the window.  After this was dry, I drilled holes along the edge and tied it together with some string.

Thanks for stopping by, hope you enjoyed this project as much as I had creating it!!

Clear Scraps DIY Heart Pallet--

Hi everyone!  Laura is here today to give you a little inspiration to kick start that

Valentine's Day crafting!!  Who wants some fun ideas to create your own cute home decor?

Clear_Scraps_DIY Heart Pallet_Hugs and Kisses Pallet

So cute, but super simple believe it or not!!  Just layering up some cute papers and

stickers, and it's even a great way to use up your scraps!!  The base that makes it

so easy to create these home decor pieces are the Medium DIY Pallets from

Clear Scraps.  Here I used the heart shape of course--perfect for Valentine's decor!

CSWPSMheart-2

The Medium size pallets are a great size for home decor.  You can find the medium

pallets in shapes for everyday, or holiday or seasons in the Clear Scraps Store HERE.

There are also some larger pallets to play with, you can find those HERE in the store.

These bare wood pallets are like so many Clear Scrap products, versatile to paint,

ink, stamp on, stencil on, whatever you'd like to do.  There are always great examples

and ideas here on the blog--just put pallet in the search function and check it out!

Clear_Scraps_DIY Heart Pallet_Hugs and Kisses Pallet(1)

For this project, I covered the pallet with pretty Valentine patterned papers.  I just

traced the sections onto the paper, cut them out, glued them down, and then

started to embellish with some border pieces and ephemera pieces, layering them

in as I went.  I used foam tape to give a little extra dimension and then added

a few enamel dots.  When the project was complete, I decided I'd like the ability

to hang it up, so I punched a couple of holes with a crop-a-dile, (a great tool when you

work with these pallets!) and then threaded a pretty pink ribbon thru to make the

hanger.  I love to embellish, so I added the twine and heart to finish it off.

Thanks so much for stopping by today!

Love You More Wood Heart

Hola,

Tami here with you on the blog today to share a project for Valentine's Day.

Valentine's Day is the perfect time to show your loved ones your love. Moms, dads, hubbie, kids, grandmas, grandpas, aunts, uncles and friends. Any of them would appreciate a special gift they will know was made just for them.

And although my project was designed for Valentine's Day; change up the colors and it would be nice as a anniversary gift or even a birthday present.

The base of the project is the Heart Wood Shape and accented by Love You More XL Script Wood Quote both by Clear Scraps.

Clear_scraps_love-you_more_script_word_valentine

I covered the heart with 2 different printed papers; with the one on the right being slightly wider than the one on the left. Use a file to remove excess paper from around the edges, then place a sticker strip over where the papers meet. Trim sticker strip...

Paint "Love You More" with white paint; let dry, then outline letters with gel pens...

Use the 6" 5 Heart Stencil to trace and cut out different sizes of hearts on different colors of cardstock. You will need 3 of each size: Small, Medium and Large. Outline the hearts with gel pens, then use Foam Tape to stack the 3 sizes together to form 3 hearts...

Adhere "Love You More" to the left of the heart, and the 3 hearts on the right in a vertical row. Add stickers to accent the design...

Finish by adhering a ribbon loop to the back for hanging...

Valentine Slimline Cards with Clear Scraps

Hello everyone!  It's Jennifer on the blog today sharing some fun, easy slimline cards I created using Clear Scraps products! Valentines Day is less than a month away so its not too early to get started on some of your own DIY cards! The slimline size is all the rage right now so I decided to incorporate them in to my project.  Each card is approximately 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 inches.  I'm also going to show you the techniques I used!

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_cards

For my first card, the base is white cardstock that I cut 7 x 8 1/2 inches. I used my Scor-Pal to create a fold at 3 1/2 inches. I adhered a light pink dot background as well as a scalloped border from a die.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards4

For my focal point, I used the Banner Heart Chipboard Embellishment Shape.   I painted the top piece using red chalk paint ensuring I covered all edges.  For the bottom heart base, I applied Beacon 3-in-1 Adhesive to adhere patterned paper.  I cut the excess with scissors followed by sanding the edges with my sanding tool.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards2

Next, taking the top portion of my chipboard embellishment, I applied embossing ink to the top surface. I then added red glitter embossing powder and set with heat. I was now ready to assemble my chipboard pieces together using the Beacon 3-in-1.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards3

Before adhering the Banner Heart Chipboard Embellishment, I stamped a sentiment onto the front of the card as well as added die cuts from the collection I used.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards5

I also added a couple tags to the top left corner securing them with a small staple.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_cards6

For my next card, I trimmed a sheet of the 12x12 Acrylic to 3 1/2 x 8 1/2 to act as the front cover of my card. I then cut a piece of white cardstock to 3 3/4 x 8 1/2, scoring at 1/2 inch to create a flap.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards7

At the top portion of the acrylic, I secured the 4x6 Hearts Stencil using washi tape. I then applied a thin layer of modeling paste using a spatula.  I did not worry about my paste being uniform as I wanted to have a bit of distressed look. Once my paste was dry, I added pink, blue, and red Distress Oxide Inks to the surface blending with a foam brush.

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards8

Here you can see the end result of the modeling paste + Distress Oxide. I love how the colors compliment each other!

Clear_Scraps_Valentine_Slimline_Cards9

I was then ready to finish assembling my card as well as add coordinating die cuts and stickers.

Thank You Album by Kelly Parker

Hello crafty friends, I am on the blog today with Clear Scraps creating a Thank You Wood Card Album using paint and paper napkins.

To start this project, I used some Art Anthology paint, this paint has the consistency of a gel and goes on transparent. I wanted to be able to see the wood grain through the paint, had I used regular acrylic paint it would have been too opaque.

Here are the covers finished, you can see the wood grain through the paint. Next, I dug around in my napkin stash, which is pretty extensive, and found the perfect design for my cover both front and back.
Taking a brush and some water, I drew around the area I wanted to use and then tore it out while still wet. Using this method allows for a more feathery edge when gluing the image to the covers. Separate all of the layers using just the top layer on your project.

I then used a bit of white glue on the back of the napkin pieces and applied them to the covers. You need to be a bit careful as the napkin is very fragile.

I then used some jute to attach the front and back covers.

Thank you for stopping by and check out Clear Scraps for all your fun project needs!!

Snow Globe Card

Hello Crafty Friends! It's Dana and I'm back today to share a winter card I created using Clear Scraps Snow Globe shaker! Click Here

20201217_192128

Clear Scraps has so many cute shakers to choose from. So be sure to check them all out! I chose Crate paper "Snow and Cocoa" papers and stickers to decorate my card.

First we'll create our shaker. Take the top chipboard shaker shape and paint the front and sides with gold acrylic paint. Let dry. Next I chose one of the papers to cover the top part of my snow globe. Trace with a pencil and cut this piece out. Then adhere to your bottom chipboard piece using Beacon 3 in 1 Glue.

20201217_200152

After this dries, take sandpaper or your distress tool and smooth the edges. Next I fuzzy cut out a snowman and tree and adhered those on top of my snow globe piece. Make sure it lines up and shows through the snow globe space. I added a Snow word sticker on the right upper corner.

20201220_140914

Now glue the next two chipboard shaker shapes in place over top of your base. Then you can add any shaker elements you like. I added some little snowballs and glitter snow. Take your acrylic shaker piece and peel off the protective layer on both sides before gluing on top. Next glue your top snow globe shaker piece in place. Avoid moving or shaking  until throughly dry. I use some small clothespins to hold my shaker in place till it dries. Last I added a warm wishes sticker sentiment to my bottom snow globe base. Set the shaker aside for now.

For my card: base measures 7x5. I cut out a coordinating paper at 63/4 x 4 3/4 and adhered it to my card base, leaving about a 1/4 of white card showing. Next I cut another coordinating paper at 21/4 x 4 1/2 inches, and adhered this on the right side of my card. Take your snow globe shaker and adhere to the left side of your card using Beacon 3 in 1 Glue. I added pop dots to the back of my Winter sentiment and adhered on top right side of my card. Scattered a few snowflake stickers to my card, a chipboard sticker house and a white pom pom on the little bird's hat. Lastly I added Stickles Stardust glitter around the roof of the house, bird's tummy and bird's sweater.

Mini Mitten Shakers Embellish Frosty Acrylic Sign

HiYa,

Tami here on the blog with you today to share a frosty, wintery, shimmery project. This project features some techniques to use on Clear Scraps acrylic products; in this case, the 12 X 12 Acrylic Sheet. Acrylic is a very versatile item to use in your crafting. You can paint it, ink it - alcohol inks are great, stamp it, diecut it just to name a few.

One thing I like to do with acrylic, is to layer different mediums on the front and on the back. This created dimension and allows you to "layer" products that might not play well together, or might not achieve the same look as when they were both added on the same surface. I also added a piece of Silver Metallic Foil Board to the back to reflect light and give the piece a shimmery look. Mini Shaker Box Mittens filled with Sprinkles Winter Flake Mix add a fun accent to the sign...

I started by removing the protective film from ONE side of the Acrylic Sheet. Then I added drops of aqua alcohol ink and swirled it around the entire sheet: you don't need to cover it completely; let dry. Then I added drops of white pearl alcohol ink all over to look like snowflakes. Let this side dry completely.

Turn Acrylic Sheet over and remove protective film from the other side. Use 6" Nordic Snowflakes and 12" Ice Crystal Snowflakes stencils with white paint and a sponge pouncing brush to add snowflakes over the front on the Acrylic Sheet. A few hints to make this step easier. When using any stencil where the designs are close together, but you only want to use portions of the stencil, use tape to mask off the designs close to the one or ones you want to use. Also put a piece of tape to cover an edge of a stencil when a design you want to use it close to it. And be sure the designs you add have dried before repositioning your stencil to avoid smearing...

Once the snowflakes have dried, I added a frosty edges to my sign by pouncing white paint around the edges...

While the paint dried, I started working on the quote for the center of my sign, "we are all like snowflakes unique and one of a kind'. I used a word processing program to space the wording as I wanted along with editing fonts and sizes. I tested the sizes by cutting apart the printed quote and fitting it on the sign along with the mittens. Once I was happy with the spacing and font size, I printed the quote out on a sheet of clear plastic film...

Next, it was time to embellish the Mini Mitten Shaker Boxes. I traced both mittens on a piece of silver foil board, cut them out and adhered the to the bottom layer of the shaker boxes...

I wanted a stripe on the mitten, so I grabbed some washi tape. I placed strips of striped washi tape on the top layer of the shaker around the hand part of the mitten, then trimmed off excess with scissors. I used a more solid design washi tape around the cuff portion. The shakers were then assembled except for the acrylic and top layers and filled with Sprinkles. After filling, the acrylic and top layers were adhered on the shakers...

Now it's time to put it all together. One thing to remember when working with clear acrylic is that glues or adhesives used to layer the pieces will need to be covered or they will show. You could also punch holes and use ribbon or twine to hold pieces together, but for this project, I was using a tape runner. I cut an 8 X 8 piece of silver foil board for the back, and trimmed my quote down a bit. To determine where to place the adhesive, I laid the quote and the mittens UNDER the acrylic sheet - with the snowflake side up. I arranged them, then used a marker to add small dots at the centers of the mittens. That is where I placed my adhesive to adhere the foil board to the back and the quote to the front.

I used Zip Dry to adhere the mittens to the sign, making sure their placement covered the adhesive...

If you want to take these techniques a little further, why not try embellishing two or more acrylic sheets and layering them! you could even use foam tape to adhere the sheets together to add even more dimension to your project!
