Gingerbread Mason Jar

Hi Crafty Friends!

The holiday season is upon us. I love decorating my home for the holidays. I have a gingerbread home decor project for you, using Clear Scraps Mason Jar DIY Wood Shape

First off I painted the top portion of my mason jar with silver metallic acrylic paint. Let dry.

Then I choose a candy cane striped paper and traced the mason jar shape onto my paper with a pencil. Cut it out and take some craft glue and adhere your paper to the front portion of your mason jar shape. I prefer to use Beacon 3 in 1 Glue, it has a strong hold and dries clear.  I trimmed any excess paper around the edge of my jar with an exacto knife. Using a distress tool, smooth the edges around your jar.

Then I cut out a "Happiness is Homemade" paper bow from my stash. With my fingers I molded the paper so it would appear to have some dimension to my bow border. Inked the edges of my bow with some distress ink. Then I adhered the bow towards the top of my jar using glue dots.

Next I fussy cut a mixing bowl and gingerbread men from my scrapbook paper. I took an exacto knife and cut a slit at the top of my mixing bowl. Then tucked a gingerbread man 3D sticker poking out from the bowl. Inked the edges around my mixing bowl before adhering it to the bottom right corner of my mason jar, using foam dots.

Next I took a gingerbread man die and ran it through my diecutting machine, using assorted papers to decorate my gingerbread man.

Added a few black dazzle stickers for his buttons and Stickles black diamond glitter for his eyes. Then I adhered my gingerbread man to theft side of my mason jar with craft glue.

To finish off my mason jar, I added a sugar canister sticker from Martha Stewart. Some silver dazzle stickers on my snowflakes. Tied a red/white twine around the top of the jar along with a tiny tag. Adhered a "For Santa" sticker onto my tiny tag. Cut a piece of jute cord and adhered to the back of my jar with hot glue!
