Halloween Shaker Layout

Hello Crafty Friends!

It's Dana here! I have a Halloween scrapbook layout to share. Halloween is just around the corner so I wanted to create a layout that I could display all month.

Have you seen all the variety of shakers available from Clear Scraps! These shakers are high quality chipboard and so easy and fun to assemble. For this project I chose to use the Bat Mini Shaker. You can check them out Here

For the base of my scrapbook layout, I used one of the Clear Scraps XL Scallops , which I had left over from a previous project. But you can use any acrylic sheet from Clear Scraps. You can find them Here.

First off I mixed some orange and lime green glitter along with black glass glitter. Then took my acrylic sheet and applied craft glue along the scallop edges. Then sprinkled the glitters onto the glue. Shake off sny excess glitter. I did a small section at a time careful not to apply too much glue. Continue this process until finished. Set aside to dry.

While you wait, take your bat shaker pieces apart. Paint the top piece of your shaker with black acrylic paint.

Then take your last piece of chipboard shape and trace onto your patterned paper. Cut out with an exacto knife and smooth any edges with your distress tool. Glue paper onto your chipboard shaker piece.

Now glue the next two chipboard layers one on top of the other. Then fill your shaker with confetti or anything you like. Then peel off the protective layer on your acrylic shape and glue down onto previous layer. Finish off by gluing the top painted layer in place. Do not shake until glue dries. After your shaker dries you can carefully add black  paint around your shaker edges. Let dry.

While drying you can work on your layout design. I chose a base paper, sentiments, a photo and stickers. I used glue dots to attach my scrapbook paper to my acrylic sheet. Added my embellishments. Used foam dots to the back of my sentiment to add dimension. Then glued my Bat shaker to my layout.
