Clear Scraps Bat Swirl Stencil--Candy Cutie LO

Hello everyone!  Laura here with some inspiration for you today!

I've got a fun Halloween LO to share with you using the Clear Scraps

4x6 Bat Swirl Stencil to create a fun border.

I love cute and simple don't you?  This one is just a few layers of different

patterned papers but to make a stand out piece that anchors everything,

the border was created on plain orange cardstock with the Bat Swirl stencil.

I used a sponge applicator to apply a light pounce of black acrylic paint

to keep the look a little distressed for more of a spooky Halloween look.

I positioned the stencil a few different ways as I moved it to make the

pattern look more random.  You can see the angle of the stencil in the

picture, it's not just straight up and down, tho you could do that too.

After I got the look I liked, I went back with the sponge applicator to

brush around the edges of the border to add a little more depth and

interest to the softer bats and swirls.  This frames it and makes that

part "pop" a bit more.  A few scattered stickers and enamel dots added

a nice finishing touch and tied it into the rest of the LO.

It's honestly so much fun to play with stencils like this!  Sometimes I just

take a scrap piece of paper and play.  You can try different looks with paint,

or an ink, or spray mist, or markers, or?  Get creative!  If you like the look,

you can save it to use later for a border or accent on a LO or home decor.

You can find all of the different stencils in the Clear Scraps store HERE

There are lots of them to choose from--so many ideas!

Thanks so much for stopping by today!  Stop back soon for more inspiration!
