Hola,
Tami here today with a vintage inspired Halloween project to share with you.
I started with one of the pieces from the Scalloped Chipboard Banner Set. You can make some fabulous banners for any occasion using the Chipboard Banner Set, but the pieces can also be used separately.
The banner pieces can be inked, painted, stenciled on or as in this project, covered with printed paper...
I first cut a piece of printed paper to fit over the banner piece; just trace around the chipboard on the paper, then cut it out. I distressed the edges with black chalk ink...
Next, adhere the printed paper to the banner piece - NOTE: i did not cover the entire piece as I planned to cover the lower portion with an embellishment...
I had some trim I found at the dollar store that I thought would look great as the brim of the hat, so I cut a piece the length of the scalloped portion of the chipboard banner piece and adhered it...
I had some vintage cotton ribbon that I purchased at an estate sale that I wanted to use as the band on the hat. I love finding and collecting vintage items to use on my altered projects, but any contrasting ribbon will do...
The printed paper set I used had small cards that matched. If the papers you choose don't have something similar, you could stamp a Halloween themed image or sentiment, or find a vintage Halloween card or postcard online and print it out. I added some flowers at the bottom corner and used rhinestones and pearls for the centers...
I had a sheet of Halloween word stickers, so I found a few that fit the card and added them. You could also stamp or write words on strips of paper...
As a finishing touch, I decided that my hat needed a little "pom" trim at the pointy tip...
And that's it! Pretty simple project to create a vintage inspired decor piece for your Halloween decorating.
I hope this project has inspired you to pull out your Clear Scraps products and CREATE!
