Hello Crafty Friends!
Hope you all are staying safe and healthy! I'm glad to be back on the Clear Scraps Blog today with a album project to share! I just adore this birdcage acrylic album from Clear Scraps! You can find it here Birdcage album
I also uses one of these chipboard Dragonfly pieces to decorate my album Chipboard Shape
I chose some new papers and diecuts from Stamperia "Hortensia" collection to decorate my album.
First off you'll want to peel off the protective sheet from each piece of your album. Then I took some white acrylic paint and painted the surface of birdcage album pieces. You don't need a heavy coat of paint since you will covering up most of the surface. Let dry throughly before continuing to the next step.
Next up I took a piece of matching rice paper, and tore random strips and used my sponge and Decoupage glue and adhered the rice paper to the front part of my album piece. Let dry.
For the back side, I traced one of the papers from the paper pad and glued it to the back of the first album piece. I fuzzy cut one of the clock pieces from my paper, inked the edges and added some pop dots to the back, and adhered on the top. Then took a matching chipboard diecut and glued on top of the matching image.
I repeated these steps and traced all my papers for each of the remaining pages. Then glued them down onto the acrylic pages.
I took the Clear Scraps Dragonfly chipboard piece, added some glue all around the surface. Then sprinkled black glitter on the body. And purple for the wings. Shake off any excess glitter. Set aside to dry. I love the variety of ways you decorate these chipboard piecesfrom Clear Scraps. Paint, glitter, or ink and emboss them. They are so sturdy and fun to use!
Now comes the fun part of decorating your album pages. For the next page I fuzzy cut out one of the frames, inked the edges and added some pop dots. Then glued a sentiment diecut and butterflies. Scattered a few gems around my page.
For my next page I cut out another journal card and glued to the middle of the page. Added a 3D butterfly and cut out another sentiment and glued at the bottom. I added a chipboard bird and a few Dazzle stickers!
My next page I used a diecut frame from Anna Griffin. Inked the edges and used pop dots to adhere to my page. I fuzzy cut out some flowers and sentiment. I used pop dots to adhere to the bottom of my frame.
For my remaining pages, I kept some simple with adding just a diecut sentiment and left plenty of space where you can add a photo.
Now to decorate the cover, I glued my Dragonfly chipboard towards the top of my album. Added some Prima flowers to the bottom left hand corner and tucked in a few roses in between. I fuzzycur the little bird from one of the papers. Inked the edges and used pop dots to adhere to my album. I tied a purple satin bow through all the pages to attach them together.
I hope you try making your own album for yourself or it would also make the perfect gift!
