Hiya,
Tami here today to share a fun technique using both Clear Scraps and our cross promo company this month —- TapeRunner
Bling is all the rage in fashion, decor and crafts, and foil is among the hottest ways to get this look.
You can easily add foil to your papercraft or mixed media project using TapeRunner and some transfer foil...
I thought that the Fancy Butterfly Chipboard Shape would look gorgeous with a foil underlay to fill in the wings.
Cut the shape from the chipboard frame...
Trace around the butterfly shape on a piece of black cardstock...
Use the TapeRunner to fill in the shape with horizontal lines of adhesive...
Lay a sheet of foil transfer paper over the adhesive and rub with your finger to transfer the foil...
Pull up the foil sheet and tada...
Cut out the butterfly (you may have to retrace around the butterfly if you obliterated your first tracing like I did)...
Paint your butterfly - I used silver paint - then apply adhesive to the body and outer edges of the wings using the TapeRunner to adhere it over the foiled cardstock piece...
I used the butterfly to embellish one of the acrylic tags Acrylic Tag Album. I painted the back of the tag with light blue, white and silver paint. I added a few scattered drops of each on the tag, then brushed horizontally to cover the tag, being careful not to overblend them.
On the front of the tag, I used the Butterfly Stock Stencil with silver modeling paste; this combined with painting on the back of the tag, helps to add dimension.
If you’d like to see more about that technique, please view this post: Mixed Media Acrylic Tag, which describes this technique and includes a short video.
Rub-on sentiments and some silver ribbon complete the tag...
I hope this project has given an idea of a new way to use TapeRunner.
