Hello friends! Today I'm kicking off our month long cross promo with TapeRunner today! Birthdays have definitely been celebrated quite differently during the pandemic but that makes me want to ensure they are extra special! Using the Party and Birthday Cake Mini Shaker Shapes, I created these fun, festive cards!
Both cards were created using the same technique; to save time I'm going to only show the Birthday Cake Shaker. First, I painted my top frames as well as the edges of my middle frames with white acrylic paint. I almost always use a foam brush but did use a smaller paint brush to get into the tighter areas. (It also helps to adhere the two middle chipboard frames together first before painting...this will save you time).
Next, I ran my Tape Runner adhesive over the top chipboard base of each of my shakers in order to cover with patterned paper. I then trimmed excess paper away with scissors, as well as with an x-acto knife. Using a sanding tool/paper is also helpful.
I was then ready to adhere my middle chipboard frames to the base as shown here. Before inserting my sequins, I used an embossing sachet to ensure there would be no static electricity. After placing the sequins, I then adhered my acrylic piece followed by the top chipboard frame.
Once I affixed my shaker to the front of my card, I added die cuts and stickers to accent. Each card front is cut from a 12x12 Acrylic Sheet that I left clear to allow the base paper to show through.
Thank you for reading today! Be sure to check back for more inspiration from our design team! Have a great day!
